Has anyone else got a child starting CE tomorrow? Anyone want to hand hold etc?

DS entering yr 8 this sept. What advice on getting him through CE?
He is not academically inclined, but can surprise us now and then when he tries!
Want to help him through.

I'm sure that your Head will have already indicated the right schools for your son (if not ask quickly).
I'm also sure that the school will get him to the CE level needed for the senior school of your choice.
Our school is proud of it's record of never failing to get a child into their chosen school!
In reality this means that the senior school is very well aware of the child's abilities in yr7(most sit pre-tests),No-one fails CE

Has your son had a pre-test at a school you want him to go to?
Good Prep schools will push the kids to do well, but if the head has done his work no-one will fail

abr1de, did your DS enjoy today? I may even have spoken to you at tea! Which house is he in (initial only), DS is in SS (he seems lovely, and sporty which will suit DS).Don't say if you'd prefer not to, but roughly which direction are you from the school (we are SW).
When the woman from the Parent's assoc spoke, I couldn't really hear. Did she say class/contact lists would be sent out next term or during the holiday?
