This is me, not the kids of course
I hate the Sunday night before we go back.

I know I need to go and sort through my bags and get my bits together, but I just can't face it!

Me too!

I'm thanking my lucky stars it's only a TD day tomorrow

roisin · 06/01/2008 18:51

Oh, we're straight in - full week of lessons.
It's two very short half terms though so we do need to get on and crack on with it.

Roll on Easter

I just told the boys (8 and 10) that it's back to school tomorrow - neither of them realised, and both groaned. They love school really, but we all love the holidays.

Sympathies from me too. I've "got my bag ready" and have a lovely new notebook (small things and all that!) but I can't muster up much enthusiasm right now - to be honest I'd rather teach than have a teacher day.

Blandmum · 06/01/2008 18:56

I did it on Friday, because I hate Sunday nights so much!!

Islamum · 06/01/2008 18:57

so glad to be on maternity leave (sorry) my school started back last Thurs

Sandiesx · 06/01/2008 19:05

Thank God it's not just me! I have a free first lesson so hopefully I can stop crying by period 2

PanicPants · 06/01/2008 21:30

It's also a TD Day Tuesday. Which means I will expect the week to go really quickly, but in actual fact it will be the longest week in living memory

madrose · 06/01/2008 21:34

Feeling pants too - only grateful that I get Mondays off and on a course this wednesday.

But still have that sinking sinking feeling.

PanicPants · 06/01/2008 21:38

Do you think people who work in offices or in retail get that sinking feeling too?

PanicPants · 06/01/2008 21:39

Actually scrub the , it's a serious question.

alfiesbabe · 06/01/2008 22:05

We've got INSET tomorrow so a gentle way back in. But even so it's going to be SO BLOODY AWFUL FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!!! Can we all send positive thought waves to eachother at getting to school time tomorrow to make it better?

alfiesbabe · 06/01/2008 22:06

Shit I'm a SENCO and have just remembered I've got Annual reviews later this week. So much paperwork, so little time......

roisin · 06/01/2008 22:08

Prior to school I've always worked in offices/industry, but I didn't feel this way at the end of each holiday.

Maybe the problem is just too much holiday

Me too alfiesbabe - just realising with dread about the huge project I took on before ds2 was diagnosed with his illness - my priorities have changed somewhat and I now have to steer this thing through starting with a meeting in a week or so.

Positive thinking!

ARs week after next ...

celia2 am working on 2 ipf applications ...

arrrgh!

alfiesbabe · 06/01/2008 22:37

What's an ipf application? Is it something I should be doing but has dropped over the edge of my short term memory.....? Oh bugger you can tell I'm stressed can't you?!

bramblebooks · 06/01/2008 22:44

noooo chill, we've got individual pupil funding as a layer before statements - same thing, different name - cynical, me? !

We have something like that in my local authority where we have to do funding applications for students with complex needs. New deadlines - used to be March, now JANUARY!!! See I knew there was something else I had to do!!

bramblebooks · 06/01/2008 22:54

hmm! It's supposed to be faster than a statement - can be as quick as a couple of weeks to get a decision and money pdq. however in practice they are bouncing back applications quite a lot, even with evidence that children are struggling, giving some 'interesting' reasons.

ooh what authority do you all work in? I want to know whether your funding systems are as weird as ours!

I am feeling broadly relief about school again tomorrow. However, not looking forward to getting up an hour earlier.

Dd wants to go back to school (social little girl, wants to see friends)

Ds has expressed reluctance about Pre-School - I've told him, with my characteristic bluntness, "Tough!" (grin)

I haven't done pack lunches etc yet - but hell, it ain't that hard!

handlemecarefully · 06/01/2008 23:13
