This is me, not the kids of course
I hate the Sunday night before we go back.

I know I need to go and sort through my bags and get my bits together, but I just can't face it!

In the same boat as you, Islamum! School went back last Thurs but I'm now on Maternity leave. Don't think I've quite got my head round it yet though as still had that Sunday feeling last night!Feel a bit like I've abandoned my class and missing lunch time conversations with colleagues already!

SparklePrincess · 07/01/2008 12:17

I dont want to go back to School.

Earlybird · 07/01/2008 12:35

Yes, it's back to the daily grind....slave to a schedule/constant clock watching, groggily making packed lunch as I down the first cup of coffee at dawn, endless 'come on, hurry up, what's taking you so long, we must go, we're going to be late, HURRY!!'

alfiesbabe · 07/01/2008 20:45

So ladies... how did we get on today? I had parent consultations which all went well, plus a useful planning meeting with my line manager PLUS I 've got most of my Annual Review paperwork ready. So feeling pretty smug . However, lessons start tomorrow so i'll be back on the gin then.

Not bad at all really - the visiting speaker from the local authority was pretty boring (nothing new there then!) but at least we were given some department time. Tomorrow I have quite a light teaching day, so I hope (cover permitting) to get the Yr 11 reports finished - I marked all their exam papers before Christmas and was feeling very smug about that today, when others were still trying to get them done!!!

fatzakhal · 07/01/2008 21:18

Glad everyone's day went well I felt even more unorganised today than I did before we broke up! Mind you, DS1 has been ill and in hospital over Christmas so I just haven't had the chance to get on top of things.

Two more days then that's my week done

My week's going OK so far: though tomorrow's shaping up to be rather manic.

I had a lesson observation P5 today, which went very well. So that gave me a boost.

My New Year's resolutions are to:
a) Be more positive about work and not moan and complain so much
b) Arrive and leave on time*

  • I'm a cover supervisor, not a teacher, and am hourly paid - but recently it's been slipping - a lot - in both directions, and I've been working 1-2 hrs extra every day. And that's just bonkers because if I wanted to work longer hours, I'd do my PGCE.

Well, the first two days are over, but tomorrow the children are in, and will have to do some real work

popsycal · 08/01/2008 20:25

And now my week is over!

Part-timers hey

fizzbuzz · 08/01/2008 20:40

Popsycal, two parents evenings in one week? Is that allowed? Unions would go mad in our school...

popsycal · 08/01/2008 20:41

I know.......it has ALWAYS been the case in the 10+ years I have been there....and even though I work 2 days, it is 'understood' that I will attend both should there be the demand....
