School reports on social media. Why?!!!

It's not something I'd have done personally but I have no issues if others do it. I only have real friends and family on my Social Media though, so I'm happy to see/read about their achievements. I don't really see it as bragging.

I do think people get far too over concerned about what other people choose to post in social media. You have a chose to scroll past, ignore, unfollow or defriend if someone posts too much of what you don't want to see.

@EllieNBeeb

Maybe you need to reassess how you add people on social media. Most people do use it for their friends and family. Your weird attitude about other people's positive life events, as everyone else's in this thread, says more about their negativity/pettiness than anything else. How you perceive someone's positive life event is on you. It's on you that you look at things through such a resentful and judgemental lens.
I don't need to reassess. I have people I met while travelling on social media, people I know from past employment. These people I consider friends but not close friends. I also agree with the posts that say it's a breach of the child's privacy.

Thankfully not one of my friends has ever done this!

Sharing photos of their amazing holiday or anniversary trip - yes. Pasting generic kids reports when they'll probably be totally average in a few years, like all kids, but thinking your kid is a special genius - no

I love my friends happy posts. School report sharing is shit. Also the parents who boasted about their kid getting 10 9s at GCSE when they didn't even take the exams made me roll my eyes too - I mean dd is probably going to get top results at A level, and I'll be proud of her, but it's a bit much whacking it on social media

I have friends who are very proud of their kids but not one (close friend or acquaintance) has ever done this. Closest is something like 'here we are going for an ice cream to celebrate Jessica's fabulous report' which I can't get het up about.
