Whenever I have organised school trips, and the parents can't pay, the school has stumped up for those who want to go, as it is of educational benefit. In fact I think the school paid for some sixth formers who were going on a trip to Paris, as it was a really important part of their education. Ask the school for help.

My 7 year olds last year walked to the C of E Church, a synagogue and a Mosque. None of those trips cost anything. But I suppose it's the transport although their school has a coach so they didn't have that to pay for.

What I suppose we need to clear about is that no parents object because it's hindu who'd be happy if it were the local C of E church. As long as it's a financial not a racist objection. And of course they'd learn a lot but that doesn't get over the financial problem of the cost which is a separate issue.
