University of London - is there a "heirarchy" between the various Colleges?

Are some of the London University Colleges looked at more favourably than others? Specifically eg Birkbeck v Kings v Royal Holloway. Social sciences if that makes any difference

not in the major firms I work in I'm afraid. Perhaps the OPs son does t want to be a lawyer, in which case I suspect he hasn't got anything to worry about.

This thread reminds me of when Xenia, in her former guise, used to advise people that's their children's lives were utterly worthless and without merit if they didn't got to one of a handful of North London private schools. Only on MN!

Not all London University colleges are in London! i think there is one in Bermuda, or somewhere like that!

yes, there is a "hierarchy" but it isn't the same for all subjects. Don't worry too much about it, just get one with the course you want, with the content you want, at the standard you want, in the geographical position you want. you are far more likely to do well somewhere you are happy.
