Can I ask for help?

Dd 10 has just received her mock sats results and doesn't seem to have made much progress since y2. The results are:

Y2. Y6.

2c. 3c. Maths
2c. 3b. Reading
2c. 3a. Writing

The school seem more than happy but we feel like we're being fobbed off as the only subjects they're teaching is Maths and English - so its all about sats and getting a better score for the school.

Am I able to ask for help for her or should I just accept the school saying she's ok?

Hi MrsS3

Thank you for the reply. I have tried that but it's just not working. They are being very firm and sticking to their opinion.

I can't believe they've now said they've moved her up 1 whole level since starting last September, yet her levels after the October tests were clearly marked as 3's . . So they've clearly changed that too!!

I've got her previous school levels which show level 3 when leaving Y5, so I don't understand how she'd of gone down a level again in the summer holidays!!

DD was distraught last night as she knows she can't do it, not getting any help and scared to ask for help :O(

It's awful to know that I can't do anything. I'm feeling so helpless.

Can anyone suggest what I can do . . Please don't suggest additional learning at home as she's starting being so down and anxious at home and picking her head.

Are there any services that I could look into, that would encourage her to talk?

Can you afford to take her out of school?

There's only 1 term left. Teach her what you can at home in that term - and have fun for the rest of the time.

Have you still got an Ed Psych booked?

You really need to get an understanding of what's causing her difficulties and how you can help her.

I honestly, honestly would not send her there another day (if I didn't work, ie I could have her at home during the day). You don't need any permission to take her out of school. You just inform school that from today she is being home educated.

Hi Indigo

Unfortunately, it's not really an option. Which is so frustrating :(

Yes, he's booked for July but it seems such a long wait!

Seriously... Am so tempted to say we should meet up... There are amazing services in the area but to access almost any of it you need a dx. Sad
