Went to NUT meeting at school yesterday re pension reform. Cannot see myself teaching until 68 and who wants their kids taught by oldies not wanting to be there.

And another thing: healthcare cuts, local government cuts, defence cuts, cuts, cuts, cuts!

What part of 'Insufficient Funds' don't you understand?

Its that self centred sense of entitlement that really gets my bile frothing.

Yes teachers have a contract that the government is threatening to break ...

What part of we have already agreed to pay more for longer don't you understand?

Cain · 28/05/2011 15:57

No, the government needs to change your contract due to aforementioned 'insufficient funds'.
Its impacting everyone, why should you be exempt?
If you don't like it why don't you join us in the private sector?

Cain · 28/05/2011 16:01

Oh that's why...because you would HAVE to work harder for longer....

mrz · 28/05/2011 16:04

I worked in the private sector for 15 years and have a nice fat pension thank you Smile

no Cain I'm not trying to get anything out of anyone as I've said over and over again on this thread I'm quite happy to pay extra contributions and to work until I'm 68 (I actually love my job)

I just don't like your attitude Smile

Cain · 28/05/2011 16:16

I don't like yours.
I'm a person who is entitled to benefits but isn't claiming them because I can budget and do without so that my son doesn't end up paying the price.

You don't care about the burden of debt on our children, just about the cash you can get out of the system for your own gain.

You are a drain on our society and not a team player.

Your opinion matters not to me.

mrz · 28/05/2011 16:17

perhaps I should add that if I am paying £100 extra contributions a month it is a £100 a month less to spend on resources for my class which is a shame Hmm

mrz · 28/05/2011 16:19

As a widow I'm entitled to a widows pension which for your information I don't claim so your argument is invalid Smile

mrz · 28/05/2011 16:20

and as a widow I could have stayed at home but instead I worked to support myself and my two children so we didn't have to live on benefits ...

Cain · 28/05/2011 16:23

Just how does that justify your decision to strike for the right to negotiate better pension entitlements?

Isn't it a contradiction?

mrz · 28/05/2011 16:26

You are jumping from one conclusion to the next so I suggest that you are careful where you jump next... for your information I haven't voted to strike!

Cain · 28/05/2011 16:26

I would rather you take your widows pension now than hold my son's education to ransom. Is there not enough money in it for you?

mrz · 28/05/2011 16:28

oh dear oh dear you really should read Smile

mrz · 28/05/2011 16:29

Can I have the 22 years back dated pension I haven't claimed too?

cornsilks · 28/05/2011 16:30

cain - calm down dear

Cain · 28/05/2011 16:31

You haven't voted to strike...is that a Yet or do you intend to opose?

If you intend to opose then I apologise, my comments are directed at others.

cornsilks · 28/05/2011 16:31

Maybe I'll put a claim in for the teaching resources I've bought over the years - must be worth £100's.

Cain · 28/05/2011 16:33

Oh dear! Do not presume to patronise those who pay your wages! I'm calm but decided in my opinion! lol

Cain · 28/05/2011 16:36

Then cornsilk, if you want the money why haven't you?

Don't justify this with petty claims for fingerpaints! ffs

cornsilks · 28/05/2011 16:36

'Do not presume to patronise those who pay your wages' Grin

ClenchedBottom · 28/05/2011 16:40

Cain, you haven't a clue.
I have also spent £100s over the years on resources to use during my teaching. I haven't claimed back for them..... because there is no budget to claim from. I bought them because I felt they would enrich my teaching and enable the pupils I work with to make good progress.
You seem to be directing vitriol in rather a scattergun approach.

(BTW I won't be striking, but am fed up with reading your nastiness)

Cain · 28/05/2011 16:41

And that's funny because you have contempt for your parents and the taxpayer which is clear from your comments but i wouldn't brag about it if I were you. It makes you look small...
