OP posts:
GallumDrawnAndQuartered · 02/11/2010 14:47

keep it as a pet?

BangingNoise · 02/11/2010 14:47

gross! Put in a dispute straight away and get the damn thing out of the house.

Firawla · 02/11/2010 14:47

take a picture of it and tell her you want to return it?

LynetteScavo · 02/11/2010 14:49

Post it back. They poor child whos puschchair it was is probably devasted thier pet maggot is lost.

SkyeplusArlo · 02/11/2010 14:51

ha! Grin
poor kid,i'll return the maggot asap,it is a bit squished though,do you think they'll mind?

OP posts:
SkyeplusArlo · 02/11/2010 14:52

seriously though...what can i actually do?

OP posts:
BangingNoise · 02/11/2010 15:29

I think you should take a pictures if you can. Then package it back up and open a dispute straight away on Ebay.
Was it described as good condition or clean? Have you a link to the Ebay listing?

booyhoo · 02/11/2010 15:30

did teh seller describe it as needing a good clean or anything? or did they say good condition?

booyhoo · 02/11/2010 15:31

tbh, i wouldn't have sold a buggy with cat and dog hair in the creases. they mustn't have checked it over before tehy sold it.

Flightattendant29 · 02/11/2010 15:45

Maggots can come from anything - it's likely a fly or moth or somethingjust laid a random egg in there and it grew while it was in transit - I wouldn't be too upset.

It doesn't mean the pushchair is dirty - does it look dirty?

maxybrown · 02/11/2010 15:45

eeewwwwwww!!

smockingtillerfiredeers · 02/11/2010 15:45

Dog and cat hair in the creases?? How?? Has it been dumped in a garage being used by animals then? To have that and a maggot doesn't look good - whatever else you do, do get it out of the house.

How much was it?

BangingNoise · 02/11/2010 15:46

I think it does mean the buggy is dirty when it's combined with animal hair!

runmeragged · 02/11/2010 15:48

I would return it on the grounds that it is not as described (presumably). Was it described as dirty? Animal hair and maggots is dirty and I would never put an item on eBay in that condition.

SkyeplusArlo · 02/11/2010 16:37

aside from the magggot, animal hair and a little black mould on the hood it is in good condition (it was described as in very good condition)
i dont really want to send it back as i dont mind giving it a good scrub..but i dont know about the mould? i might have to buy a new one if it wont come out i guess.
i suppose im asking if its reasonable to expect a sincere apology and a small refund (enough to cover the cost of a new hood.
they have offered to cover the postage to send the hood back but refused to refund me any money so im not sure what good it is to me really?!
(it is a buggaboo bee and cost me £210)

OP posts:
tutu100 · 02/11/2010 16:41

I think it is fair to ask for a partial refund. If they refuse you could open a dispute with ebay, but ebay might expect you to return the pushchair for a full refund.

I would not be worried about a maggot or hairs if I could clean the buggy well (I know some pushchair are difficult to clean). But I would be double checking their description and I would definatly say something in the feedback.

SkyeplusArlo · 02/11/2010 16:46

i have just had a very sincere apology and a £10 refund,i would have liked enough to buy a new hood, butshe sounds honestly upset about it,so i wont open a dispuite, just maybe leave of a star or two in the item descripion!
thanks guys.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 02/11/2010 16:46

I agree with TuTu, a PP dispute will probably just result in you returning the buggy - unless you want to do that?

Pretty crap to be honest, I would be mortified if someone found a maggot in anything I had sent them and would probably be falling over backwards to sort it out

SkyeplusArlo · 02/11/2010 16:53

yep me too,i have two buggys for sale atm and they are spotless but i'll clean them again before i send them! i would be horrified if anything i sold was less than what id said it would be!

OP posts:
BangingNoise · 02/11/2010 16:56

Mold and animal hair would not be on an item that is very good condition!

BangingNoise · 02/11/2010 16:58

£10 refund would not cut it with me. If she had described the item as 'has some animal hair on it and black mold on the hood' would you have bought it at all, let alone for £200? That's aside from the maggot.

maxybrown · 02/11/2010 17:05

yes true banging noise, true.

I think it's fair if people say needs a good clean, I haven't got the time, take it or leave it blah blah blah, but when did they last look at it if it has a maggot on it? And we used to have a much loved go anywhere cat, but never ever did I send things out with hairs on Shock was very careful about that

SkyeplusArlo · 02/11/2010 17:31

umm i wouldnt have bought it i suppose,
but now that i have it i dont want to send it back, and ive cleaned it now so i guess im stuck with either accepting a tenner or opening a dispute i wont win. Hmm

OP posts:
BangingNoise · 02/11/2010 17:32

Is it possible to open a dispute to ask for a partial refund and get more money back? I would be looking to accept no less than half.

maxybrown · 02/11/2010 17:44

I did that once, I won but PP told me to return the pushchair to get full refund, even though I had disputed for cost of a part Hmm
