Though I have embarked on yet another attempt at a diet and exercise programme, which seems to be yielding some small results, so I may be a bit less of a fat lass, in the fullness of time.

We have proper sit up and beg bikes hired for the holiday, DS1 has his Trek we are campsite spotting and so far have seen a lovely Pinarello and one very nice Spesh, tried spotting the owner but failed, where are you at the moment Pan ?

Fortunately the lads at Quick-Step Floors are doing a whole lot better than my fantasy team. If I wasn't convinced I'd jinx them by picking a QS rider I might be doing better!

I am baffled by the fact that I am doing well at this. I just picked people I'd heard of, whose names I liked. Maybe I should offer this to Dave Brailsford, as a foolproof method for selecting the Sky team??

Any racing tips or lottery numbers for us SDTG?

Degenkolb dropping out was just the kick in the teeth you needed, right Pan? I don't know how you're doing quite so poorly actually - although I can't speak much, my team seem to be tumbling down too...

And I'm in 7th, just above you Pannn. I also had Degenkolb in my team.

I should stick to the TDF I reckon. I'm clearly rubbish at the Vuelta & my team picking talents are more suited to the Tour.

Well, Ididn't look at the course properly and realise ther were so few sprint stages - otherwise JD wouldn't have been there at all! As you say msrisotto to have the one sprinter go out is a bit of a disappointment! And Felicity is normally gud at this too.

I think I'm the only team without Froome.

Don't know why I didn't put him in really.

Can't be arsed to stay up and watch highlights tonight as earliest they will be on is 10.15.

My team is looking pitiful. But in my defence I did just pick a placeholder team intending to come back to it and then ran out of time. However looking at the results I'm not sure I'd have done much better with more time.

Not picking Froome was a big error on my part. I just wanted to make things a bit more interesting for myself! On the plus side nobody has yet been disqualified / fallen off.

I think we can all agree though that SDTG is truly an evil genius, what a team!

Today was a mad one, looked like trundle, trundle, trundle, nice break, GC boys enjoying not chasing like mad then you've got Contador's break for it (chapeau), riders being pushed off by fans, fans being pushed in front of motorbikes by the Guarda and Froome falling off at least once if not twice. Very entertaining and even though he is in my team I like that Froome's lead is down to less than a minute. Makes it a more entertaining bike race.

Yes it was exciting yesterday. Don't want it to be too easy, because then you get a boring race.

What about that policeman basically pushing a spectator in front of the neutral service bike? And the spectator who pushed one of the cyclists over a barrier? What goes on in people's heads???
