I'm obsessed at the moment, loving the biog I'm reading, listening to his stuff all the time and loving his themetime radio hour programme.

No! There was only 1 Mr Tambourine Man. I'm trying to remember some of the others. There was Pretty Peggy May (or something like that), The Sad Old Lady of the Lowlands, someone was a priest (but can't remember the song.

You can tell I'm not a fan! I had to print off an A-Z list of his songs from the internet and it got passed round the office.

I bet he's charming giraffski. But he is a minty old bezzer now isn't he? Surely?

lol at Idiot Wind

Big Bob fan here.
His radio show has dh and me wetting ourselves however.
It is totally and utterly hysterical and incongruous.

Mid 70s Christian stuff ('Saved') is great.

Also big fan of 'Bob Dylan' and 'Infidels'
Used to force the latter down the throats of my students when an English assistant in France in 1987. They bloody loved it.

Aefondkiss · 28/02/2007 23:51

another fan

tonight I was watching some video footage of him on the net, I have always liked his music, but really enjoyed the biog and the documentary, I can't say which is my fave song, my dh saw him at slane castle in ireland, years ago.

mamama · 28/02/2007 23:59

Ooo, I didn't know he was on Radio Two - I'll have to see if it's on Listen Again.

I'm a bit of a Bob fan - went to see him last year and he was FAB! Didn't say much though!

ipanemagirl · 01/03/2007 13:55

I'm up to the bit in the biography about the Rolling Thunder Tour (1975) - then dug out the album -great live versions of various thing like Tambourine Man & Blowin in the Wind etc. What a crazy life he's led.
The radio programme is unbelievable, so funny. Is he taking the p* or is that his real voice???

I really think it is his real voice Ipanema.
It's hilarious isn't it?

ipanemagirl · 01/03/2007 17:48

It is hilarious! Did you hear the prog about all the "very pretty flowers?" . Priceless.
Have you seen Jakob Dylan - how gorgeous!

moondog · 01/03/2007 17:49

Jakob released an album a few years ago. One or two songs werre pretty good.
No,I didn't hear that one.
I am sniggering here though thinking about that voice.

ipanemagirl · 01/03/2007 17:53

And can I draw you to comment on his unearthly beauty or do you think I'm starting to develop some kind of proper illness?

southeastastra · 01/03/2007 17:54

well he is definitely unearthly beautiful!

loved the theme time radio shows

moondog · 01/03/2007 17:56

It cracks me up when he puts eyeliner on.
I went out with a bloke in uni almost solely due to the fact that he could do a brill Bob impression. We saw him play (Astoria 1990??)

he was shit.

DP just told me to tell you all about a great Bob quote.

Journalist to Bob "What are your songs about?"

Bob to journalist "Some are about 5 minutes and some are about 7 minutes"

DP loves Rosemary Lily and the Jack of Hearts and You're a big girl now.

Gonna get my Bob stuff out and have a night listening to him

ipanemagirl · 01/03/2007 22:14

Favourite track today Buckets of Rain and Live Tambourine man from Rolling Thunder Tour.

This biog is jaw-dropping - I had no idea he was such a womaniser - whoah Bob!
