There was a young poet called Popsycal
Whose boobs were unevenly lopsical
She specially trained them
With straps to restrain them
But the velcro and pins made her top tickle.

(they are, for the record, rather evenly balanced, in case you werew wondering....)

glitterfairy · 18/05/2004 10:49

Loved your poem last night janstar and thanks for the beer got called away so took it with me. I am going to have buy one of these rhyming dictionaries and then come back to you but am thinking of a limerick about beety! (went to school together so it could be really good)

mothernature · 18/05/2004 11:00

There was a young mum from afar
who wanted to be a great star
instead of comuting
she did some computing
and found herself stuck for the next line...

glitterfairy · 22/05/2004 10:15

We know that beety can be strict online
But now her body has entered decline
She's given up not just meat,
But salt, dairy and wheat,
In penance for drinking gallons of wine!

Beety a wench from the city,
Had a family who thought rural was pretty,
But her shoes came from Prada
And she found the country much harder
For shopping which was really a pity!

Glitterfairy's a poster who's easily missed
By both hussy's and girls never been kissed
She is always online
At the strangest of times
And she posts when she's utterly pissed!

The glitter one and the first one were done by my business partner so I claim no credit! I am responsible for the middle one done on a train journey after work in London!

Gothicmama wears lots of makeup
its her online rendition to breakup
her daily routine
and it gives her a sheen
so you don´t have to look at her closeup

popsycal · 23/05/2004 19:24

Here you go: about my very good friend, Freddiecat. Hope she doesn't mind

There was a cat whose name was Freddie,
Who, when drinking, was not very steady.
So when she got p*ed
The one man on her list
Was just moth-eaten, battered old teddy.

Janstar · 24/05/2004 08:50

I really don't feel I can give a critique of these...they are a fun exercise really.

All I would say is that the best ones are the ones that stick to the traditional rhyming and scansion. - 8ish syllables for the 1st, 2nd and 5th lines and 5 each for 3rd and 4th. Rhyming to match.

Those unusual rhymes are always the ones that make the difference!

This thread is a great read and I hope people will go on adding to it for a long time to come.

There once was a lady called Coddy
Who strived to achieve perfect body
Her dieting advice
Was clear and concise
But her spelling and grammar were shoddy.

There was a young lady called Twinkie
So beautiful, slender and slinky
But when she grew fatter
Her man said, 'No matter! -
We'll marry!' - let's all have a drinkie!
