Can I barge in and ask for any podcast recommendations as well?! I love true crime stuff and have only recently discovered the joy of podcasts.

Adding to the YouTube recs, I love these:

They Got Away With Murder - self-explanatory really, with an emphasis on crimes from the first half of the 20th C and earlier. Very well researched and presented,

Casefile - v well researched Ozzie podcast with a mixture of Australian and international crimes,

True Crime Brewery- husband and wife who are a retired doctor and nurse, with a brief craft beer review at the beginning,

Once Upin A Crime - the podcaster has a MH background so some psychological insights,

All have very pleasant, soothing, low-key delivery so perfect for listening to while unwinding before going to sleep.

I have just subscribed to Amazon prime’s crime channel. They have a 7 day free trial. There is so much content! They have Crimes That Shook Britain, which is a UK crime documentary.

On Netflix, I recently discovered Real Detectives.

There's a 3 part documentary on channel 5 called secrets of a psychopath. Based on a murder in Ireland.

I'm an avid listener of true crime but the tone has to be very particular and respectful for me to be able to listen. So for me that rules out RedHanded, My Favourite Murder, All Killer No Filler and a few others.

The best ones IMO are:
Crime Junkie
Casefile True Crime
Murder Squad - very interesting as it is done with Paul Holes, an esteemed detective who caught the Golden State Killer
Serial Killers

There are also few podcasts that cover standalone cases which are well worth a listen:
Scene of the Crime: Delphi
Down the Hill (also Delphi murders)
Devil's Teeth

Oh and can't believe I forgot Counterclock podcast and a new one called Anatomy of Murder. Those two are both also audio chuck ones - they produce Crime Junkie which is great and one of the biggest ones.

As recommended by a pp, my favourite podcasts are Crime Junkie and Murder Squad.

I assume you've watched the new Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix?

I absolutely love crime junkie podcasts.

Unsolved mysteries on Netflix is good and innocence files.

I listened to a really good podcast this week that the BBC made on the unsolved Alistair Wilson case. Its called The Doorstep Murder.

Oh and OP if you can stomach it, on Netflix there is a multi part documentary called The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez.

Huge trigger warning though, it is about extensive child abuse resulting in the demise of a young boy. But I think it's a really interesting look into the social care system in the USA and it was really important it was made, as it highlighted so many glaring failings by multiple institutions that resulted in tragedy.

Missing Maura Murray is good but verrrryyyyy in depth it’s a full on series that really analysis everyone involved interviewing some of the witnesses as part of the recordings so very good if you want a detailed series.

Three Girls on Netflix about the Rotherham grooming scandal - really found it so interesting. There’s a book by one of the girls involved called Girl A which is worth a read too.

Gone in the dark is very good too but I think that’s on Now TV.

Forensic investigators
72hours true crime
FBI files
Crimes of the century

All on prime

I used to only be able to fall asleep listening to/watching medical detectives on Netflix but they seem to have taken that off everything now - even YouTube has united episodes.
