Can anyone recommend a great illustrated collection of Irish legends for two young kids? We had loads growing up but I can’t find any now. Am in the UK (and grew up here) so not sure what to look for..

...lovely... ( not lowly!)

My son has the book Rachel recommended, and loves it. There are some gory bits e.g. heads getting chopped off! But I think that might be inevitable in these stories. The names can be difficult to pronounce, but that's half the fun!

I bought Irish Legends for Children (it comes up as books other people have bought on amazon) for my son when he was small. Lovely book.

We have the O'Brien book of Irish Fairy Tales and Legends. The DDs love it.

I'm Irish, they're English born and reared.

I had these www.amazon.com/Finn-Wicked-Fairy-Irish-Legends/dp/1855347806 when I was little, ds likes them now too. There's a load of different ones though, by a company called tarantula.

We have the one that Rachel0Greep mentioned - lovely book and there is a pronunciation guide at the back to help with the name if like me you need any help with that!

Not a book, an animated film, but have you watched The Song of the Sea? We love it.

Song of the sea is really beautiful.

Secret of the Kells by the same crowd is good too
