Tescos own version of Aperol is half the price and actually nicer.

Mark's and Spencer tinned soups. Especially the cream of tomato. Utterly delicious and much cheaper than Heinz

@NoEscapingMe thank you for this, Heinz CoT is Dh's go-to comfort food, so I will give them a try - pretty sure he wouldn't turn his nose up at M&S!

M and s stuff. Cleaning products are great. Sauces/beans etc. cheap and really high quality.

I'm sure he'll prefer it. When I discovered it a few months back I had it about three times a week for weeks on end. Their cream of chicken is my partners favorite. It's pretty damn good

Asda essentials Greek yoghurt, no added ingredients.
Asda low sugar granola, the ingredients list seems much more natural than brands, or even Asdas extra special.

Morrisons bathroom spray smells the best out of all out there and cleans really well.

Their own brand cereal such as shreddies, granola etc are better than branded.

Lidl's freshly squeezed orange juice is less acidic than other shops

Lidl's toilet roll, washing powder/liquid and shower gel are perfectly ok.

Hubby won't eat anything other than Lidl mayonnaise.

Lidl's dark chocolate digestives have to be locked away from me and the rest of their biscuits are so much tastier than others.

Sainsbury's butchers choice sausages are better than their finest equivalent range.

Aldi cheese puffs are genuinely better than wotsits. The tinned broccoli and Stilton soup In Sainsbury’s is 62p and better than Heinz. We always buy basic range chopped tomatoes and they’re fine. I recently tried the basic range dishwasher tablets from Sainsbury’s, £1.49 for 30, and they were absolutely fine. Couple that with finding dishwasher cleaner for £1.49 in B&M (£5 In Sainsbury’s), should save loads. I
normally use the cleaner monthly for context.

One thing I won’t compromise on is kitchen roll, it has to be Blitz. I dropped the whole thing in the sink the other day and it dried out in two days so I was able to use it. I’ve tried cheaper ones before and they’re a false economy.

HamAndMustardSandwich · 09/01/2025 12:02

Oh, and I’ve started buying Co-op bags and using them as bin liners for my food bin. I was buying 10 bags for £3 In Sainsbury’s. Now I just pick up a load of bags for 10p each when I pass the Co-op. I never actually shop in there, just buy the bags 😝

Lidl coconut milk is the best around , hardly any water just solid cream. Same with their cans of cherry tomatoes - fantastic

M&S soup great value and quality - the chicken and vegetable one is like a nice stew.
M&S baked beans - the half tins are half the price of a large one so ideal for lunch or if only one of us wants beans as a side.
M&S tomato sauce £1 now but as good as Heinz same with the brown sauce , salad cream etc

wintersgold · 09/01/2025 14:58

M&S pastries - honestly better than some cafes I've tried

SoapCollector · 12/01/2025 12:00

Lidl or Aldi non bio laundry powder. It's cheap, concentrated, cruelty free, the box is recyclable and no itchy skin here!

Lidl or Aldi baked beans, Marks and Spencer beans are also nice and around 50p a can.

Tesco tinned soup is as good as Heinz (Lidl’s is not).
Lidl KitKat knock offs are better than the real thing

Agree about the soup. Tesco tomato is far superior to Heinz
