difficultlemons · 26/07/2023 17:16

I don't usually buy pampers or at least I never did with my first but due my second soon and got a voucher for a free pack of newborn size 22 in a pack.

£4.45?! Confused seriously considering the reusable ones - does anyone have any good recommendations?

Aldi Mamia nappies we're great when DC needed them.

RegentCafe · 26/07/2023 17:21

That is less than they were 28 years ago

Seasidesusy · 26/07/2023 17:22

I’d recommend the site Fleecy Bums for reusable and affordable nappies. AIOs are the easiest as no boosters needed. Pockets are great to add absorbent layers into. Look into fleece liners if you decide to get reusables.
You could also consider buying second hand.

Seasidesusy · 26/07/2023 17:23

I think Aldi nappies are around £5 for 48. We have a stash of them for emergencies, bad tummy etc so don’t go through them quickly. Not sure how long 48 nappies would last if used full time?

Q2C4 · 26/07/2023 17:26

Aldi Mamia or Lidl nappies were great for my DC. The Mamia premium ones (sizes 1-3) are particularly good.

babyproblems · 26/07/2023 17:26

To give you a second heart attack op @difficultlemons - I’m in France and a pack of Pampers is €17 for x43 🤣🤣🤣🤣

babyproblems · 26/07/2023 17:26

I’m fairly sure that’s a promo price aswell!! Mad

Mummy08m · 26/07/2023 17:29

That is a lot - with dd we used "eco by naty" which are meant to be a luxury economy brand but they're slightly cheaper than your pampers, £9 for 50 nappies.

I personally could not get on with reusables at all, not till dd was nearly 1 and was pooing much less often.

Mummy08m · 26/07/2023 17:30

*luxury eco brand that should say!

Caspianberg · 26/07/2023 17:34

Tots bots easyfit reusable - they have sales on atm also

Also europe here, they were about €18-20 last time I looked

WaitingfortheTardis · 26/07/2023 17:37

We used some reusables, but generally found Tesco own brand fit and worked best on dd.

Ribeebie · 26/07/2023 17:42

I like our little lamb reusable nappies and the tots bots easy fits

Miscellaneousme · 26/07/2023 17:52

Terry squares with some good wraps like Motherease - cheap, birth to potty, easy to wash and dry.

cocksstrideintheevening · 26/07/2023 18:22

I don't think I was paying much less than that. Ten years ago tbh

Soapyspuds · 26/07/2023 18:23

Never understood people buying Pampers. Literally branded products for your baby to shit in.

zooopta · 26/07/2023 21:36

You can sign up to pampers emails on their website and get a voucher for a free pack sent in the post around 2 weeks later. I did it with 3 email addresses...

Tesco Clubcard has deals on pampers nappies and pull ups every other month which usually reduces cost by 50%

Singleandproud · 26/07/2023 21:43

Terry towelling with liners at home and then disposables for out and about. Convenient, economical and better for the environment than just disposables.

DD is a teen now so I doubt the scheme still works but my local council offered Terry towelling kits at a massively reduced cost to decrease nappies going to landfill so you may have something similar nearby.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/07/2023 21:59

Supermarkets own brand are much cheaper

Aldi. Newborn. £2.25 for 60 so 4p each

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/07/2023 22:00

Half the price and 3 times as many

Figment1982 · 27/07/2023 11:07

We actually found Pampers ones to be the worst in terms of quality. We've ended up using Tesco's own Fred and Flo, much better, and cheaper.

greenteaandmarshmallows · 03/08/2023 19:02

Boots own brand are good

shivawn · 03/08/2023 19:18

We've only ever used Aldi nappies since my son was 6 weeks old, find them absolutely brilliant.

DuneFan · 03/08/2023 19:24

If you're considering reusable there're lots of secondhand cloth nappy selling groups on Facebook. Market is really slow at the moment so you'll get a bargain- aim for 30% of rrp.

Soapyspuds · 03/08/2023 23:02

The market is slow for buying cloths that another baby has shat on?

😱

Copperoliverbear · 03/08/2023 23:05

Naty nappies are fantastic, a little more expensive, but very absorbent, so you save money in the end by using less. X
