Drowning under the stress

There's just no give. No let up.

Before, we could always find some money from somewhere to tide us over until pay day. Not anymore.

It's going to cost me £80 to get school uniform for September. No idea where this is going to come from.

I have no trousers. I'm literally wearing old pj bottoms out and about. Priced up six pairs of trousers £142. I use vinted for 90% of stuff but I can't get trousers on there.

DS needs some new clothes for the summer. Everything he has is too small. Found lots of bits on vinted but I can't afford them at the moment.

Can't save a penny anymore.

Last two weeks before payday are always rough. Surviving on £30. Before, wasn't a problem there was always somewhere we could take some money from, Savings Pot, Christmas savings, etc. But it's all gone now.

I am so stressed and worried and I don't know what the solution is. Even considered selling the house but that's not an option either. Wouldn't release any cash because houses have gone up so much.

Any tips or advice to try and get through this? It feels hopeless because there's no end in sight. Prices just keep rising and things keep getting worse.

so were things manageable

Hey OP, deep breath. There are so many going through this right now. Big sympathy.

At least you’ve faced up to your situation. Loads more people have no idea the impact that increases mortgage rates will have on them.

Your choices are 1) sell house or 2) earn more. Do not Klarna, do not get a credit card. You will just increase the stress and debt. You need to have a hard think about whether you or DH can work more. I’d try to do 2) if possible. What did you do before DCs?

Definitely apply for PIP if you believe you might be entitled to it and keep looking for work you can do. You need to check how much mortgage is likely to go up based on current variable rate so you know how much more you need to find.
Over next few weeks write down everything you spend day to day and look up costs of any annual bills. If you have it all in front of you then you are better able to see if there is anywhere you can reduce spending. If there is you can do that and if not at least you know & can plan ahead on that basis.

You could also put house on the market or at least get it valued so you have a decent idea what you might come out with if you decide you have to sell it. Would a flat in a similar area or a house/flat in a cheaper one be affordable in just OHs name?

Download the olio app and make an account on feeecycle. Put in a request for things you need and people will help.

Either apply for PIP or do some sort of job, I don’t think you have much choice really. Hope things change for you soon

How are you doing OP? Hope you are OK. I was thinking of you today as been mainly in my pyjamas lately. I too have a chronic illness and on a lot of painkillers.
