Worst/ craziest examples of shrinkflation?

Manufacturers, we are not stupid. We know you are making everything smaller to look like we are paying the same or only a small increase in price for the same goods.

But have boxes of chocolate eggs ever come on anything less than six in a Bix? Not in all of time. Until yesterday when I got a box of oreo eggs which now has FIVE in the box.

And Toblerones are supposed to be a row of lovely peaks. Now the peaks have big fat valleys between them.

Anyone have any other examples of this?

The floor of ben & jerrys tubs have raised by AT LEAST a centimetre since 2019. No wonder I can polish off a fish food in one hour now a days - costs me my bloody mortgate though! I've got to hide it from the kids! Shrinkflation is terrible, can confirm re the leibniz shortage, absolutely awful.

Cat food used to always be 100 g pouches. Now some only have 85g. I also see people saying their cat always seems hungry. I suspect they are now being underfed because some people may not realise the punches have less food in them. Poor cats.

Oooh now I crave chocolate orange. Shame I don't have any at home 😩

Ha, I've got 2 left. Pity I'll only get small segments though. 😉

The brands that bug me are the long established ones like Cadbury’s Roses where we can all remember that back in the day the chocolates mostly came wrapped in foil - green triangles, pink fudge etc or some twisty celophane. Now the same chocolates come individually wrapped in huge plastic wrappers with big “end bits” (can’t think of how else to put it) so that they appear to fill the box or tub, which is - naturally - the same size, bBut now with 50% less chocolate and a whopping load of non-recyclable plastic wrappers going to landfill. Not buying them ever again.

And they have the audacity to remove my favourite orange creams. How dare they. When I was a DC my Mum used to give me the orange ones and my sister the strawberry ones. My sister came over on Boxing day and thought it was hilarious there were 10 strawberry creams, her favourites, and not a single orange cream for me.

A while ago M&S started selling miniature versions of cottage pie etc. It’s like three spoonfulls. Even a toddler would eat more.

And the so called 'family sized' lasagne now only serves 2 people.

Pepsi Max have suddenly introduced 18 packs, which are the price that 24 packs used to be. Won't be long before the 24 packs cease to exist, I suspect.

Penguin bars used to come in packs of 10 - it's 7 now!
