So I am thinking of using Vinted to list loads of clothes I have sorted out and I'm new to all of this can anyone give me some tips and explain how it works please?
Is is easy?
Do you have to get some packaging to send all of your items in or what do you use?
I'm a bit confused about the posting and packaging part.
Thanks 😊

I’ve just recently sold some things on Vinted for the first time . I was a bit worried about sending my item and getting paid but it was fine . I could track parcel and when the buyer said received all ok I got paid . I thought it was much easier than eBay as I can just drop the parcels off at my local shop so no need to queue at the post office .
I suppose it’s a possibility you may get someone denying that they didn’t get it and not get paid but I’m selling things less than £10 so I’m not too worried.

Thank you.
How do I choose Evri locker or different postage options I don't see a choice with the items I've sold it just says Get shipping label and wants me to fill out this: pic attached

Sorry for being naive but I'm new to this and want to make sure it's secure and the buyer can't see the details it's asking me to fill out in the pic.

That screenshot is to verify your account details to ultimately allow you to receive the payout

With the Vinted app click the ‘profile’ icon at the bottom right. Then somewhere in the middle you will have a balance option. Under that you will have a ‘pending’ and an ‘available’ balance. Currently everything will be pending

To get the label / postage details go to the envelope icon for messages.
This should have a notification enabling you to generate a label

For my first sales I had some issues working out the notifications so I have both the Vinted app and a browser link to Vinted.co.uk
In the app the key icons are at the bottom
of the page, but on the browser edition they are at the top plus a menu at the top right

Note that now you have made a sale you can’t choose the postage method.
The buyer has selected the method based on their preferences from the methods that Vinted gave them

The messages should give you a button to generate a label (or the address details for Royal Mail) depending on the choice the buyer made

When you next list an item you can change your postage items in the profile menu to remove any you don’t want to use

Agree with so many other posters so just to add/emphasise ...

Take time to do quality pictures, item hanging and a clear uncluttered background in a good light. Lots of pictures including care and fabric make up labels

I write my listing on my phone and just copy and paste onto Vinted and I always weigh an item immediately and put that figure in brackets at the bottom so if I get a bundle request I can quickly add the weights up

Use any suitable packaging you already have and reuse any you receive from buying too. Turn it inside out to save removing existing labels - I sharpie my details off - and if possible I always double wrap for extra protection

Will add more as they come to me Grin

I only post with Yodel and can honestly say it hasn't affected my sales and so far > fingers madly crossed! - I've had no problems although some drop off points are definitely serviced more frequently

If you are selling football shirts don't under price yourself as there are lots of savvy folks who snap them up and immediately sell on again at profit Confused voice of experience n this one

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 23/01/2023 21:51

Any Zara items I list sell within 48 hours

Take a pic of the postage receipt and send it to the buyer, if for any reason the label doesn’t get scanned you won’t get paid!! Also vinted have zero customer service, it’s truly terrible

This

Thanks so much for the replies and advice.
I hadn't realised I had all options turned on for delivery 😬
Will the buyer see my posting address?

Thank you!
Oh gosh I've listed some items and someone has bought them already! It says sold on my profile so what do I do now?!
Also it says once the item has been received I will be paid, isn't this a bit dodgy? What if they receive the item and don't pay?

Yay! Great news! For some reason I about shit myself when my first item sold very quickly too, I was all a tizz about what to do! Vinted takes you through the whole process tho

behappy1736 · 23/01/2023 22:02

Ok so can someone tell me how I know the difference between these two evri options please?
Buyer had selected evri parcel shop
When I go on the options on my settings it says this:
As per pic.

If it's locker it's clear when the buyer chooses a locker option yes?

Confusingly some inpost options also offer Evri drop off but not all! If for any reason you’re in the wrong drop off shop the barcode won’t work so you can’t take it to the wrong place :-)

InPost lockers are lockers
But with EvriParcel shop you can also drop it off in a locker (If you have a suitable Evri locker in your area)

A shop is nearest to me for Evri, if I’m dropping off during their opening hours
But there are also Evri lockers a bit further away which are 24 hours
(So far I have not been affected by full lockers, but on occasion I’ve ‘wasted’ a large locker for a small package as it was the smallest available)

For the buyers ‘Evri parcel shop’ choice, it probably means they have opted for that as the delivery location and they will pick up in their local shop

Does anyone use Vinted without a printer?....

Based on some mumsnet threads that would be a yes

But no printer limits you on postal options, (to Royal Mail) and the threads have generally been about a seller that gets caught out either not realising or their edited options have come back

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 24/01/2023 16:07

Pac ive done fine without and when on one occasion my settings glitched and I received a sale with an InPost Locker my buyer was happy to cancel and buy again. Cover yourself by stating explicitly, in bold and at the top, of your bio and every listing any options you CANT do

DobbyTheHouseElk · 25/01/2023 10:55

Based on this thread I’ve uploaded clothes to vinted and I’ve actually sold something!!!!

I think I’ve not realised I needed to select which postage services I can do, so will go back in and amend. Luckily the buyer chose Evri shop and there’s one not too far away.
