My meeting was cancelled as my boss is poorly. I popped in anyway as I had some work to drop off (about half a day's pay, every little helps), and she's feeling better now. They seemed quite happy to see me 🙂. They go in every day, even when we've been shut for months.

If I do get reduced hours I'll probably get more working tax credits - I currently get £2/week!

Popped to tescos, needed cat food, spent £25, over half was cat stuff. First money I've spent since last Friday.

Went out on my bike, 10 miles. Felt a bit better. I want to be able to ride to work and back, its 10 miles each way, and kinda uphill both ways, which is mean! It's something to work up to!

Right now I just need to trim off enough so my jeans don't try to kill me.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 21/07/2020 19:53

Hi everyone.

Tayto, we are going to Spain, it was booked before covid, I've never been abroad, neither have the two younger dcs, so I know it won't be as good as a normal holiday, but we will make it special.

I have some good news about my uncle. He still has cancer, but blood cancer and this can be treated with medication, so his future looks good!

Spends today.
£8 on food and drink when we were out.
£32.05 lidl, but did include quite a bit of cat food.
£9 superdrug, on kids sunscreen, shower gel and sanitary properties
£35.48 Deichmann on sandals for me and dd
£67.50 primark on clothes for all of us, but will get £7 back as I don't like the way a dress sits on me, shape is all wrong.

Unescorted · 22/07/2020 14:01

Thanks Smile

It was weird doing it from my kitchen table. I am going to purchase wine to accompany my watching of Mrs America tonight.

Wolfcub · 22/07/2020 14:13

Mrs America is fantastic

LonelyOversharer · 22/07/2020 14:58

You'll have stormed it unescorted

Got a long email from work yesterday evening. Um. Meeting on Friday, and I'll find out then what will be happening with my job. I think each of us will be doing different hours/jobs etc going forward. I think we'll be pushed to hang on until maybe Easter next year, when I reckon our orders will pick up.

I've made 3 really pretty "project bags" today (fits an A4 bundle of stuff with a vinyl front), so that's something else for etsy, am now doing a bit of cross stitch and watching the pbs newshour. Hooked on US news!

Think it's going to be a nsd as I'm not going anywhere.

Unescorted · 22/07/2020 15:46

wolf puds & I watched 2 episodes last night & it is very good.

Lonely what I wanted when I travelled by train was a pop up desk... so a laptop bag that opens all the way around and has little pockets to slot my train ticket, phone, pen and headset in a way that they were easy to get to when it is zipped shut but in easy reach when open. I had visions of me jumping on the train un zipping my desk and cracking on - rather than rootling around in the bottom of my bag. That way I could have possession rights over the shared table. It is all in the speed of the setting up.

Unescorted · 22/07/2020 15:48

And in a pretty colour that did not scream trying to be an Alpha Male..... more "I am just Alpha, now be a love and piss off".

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/07/2020 17:38

Unescorted, that sounds wonderful, I would also like something like that, even though I don't travel much with a laptop. But something that could hold my phone, so that the phone would be free standing, hold tickets, earphones and a book, would be great!
Lonely, could we commission you?

Wolfcub · 22/07/2020 18:06

Unescorted I totally need the bag you describe too. It's such a faff packing and unpacking my office on a busy commuter train.

I've just cleaned living things out of dgms cupboards. Envynot envy

Also just had to fill up with diesel for only the second time since lockdown but there was a much smaller gap between fill ups than to the first one

Unescorted · 22/07/2020 18:09

I would so buy one... can I give you my lap top measurements?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/07/2020 18:20

My daughter would love a laptop office bag too!

Wolfcub · 22/07/2020 18:21

And if it fitted into my wheely laptop bag and I could take it into meetings instead of carrying an armful of crap around 15 floors even better. I would totally buy one

ememem84 · 22/07/2020 19:02

I’m feeling the “commuter pain” I have to bring work home with me now. I leave my laptop at home but have to bring my notebooks banking log in devices (two of which plug into my laptop and relevant files etc). Just in case we get locked down again. And because we aren’t allowed to use the kitchen or water machines I’m carting 3l of water in with me plus coffee plus lunch.

Today dh was meant to drop us all in. But he worke up and couldn’t see out of one eye (mosquito bite) so coukdnt drive. So I had to carry my two bags ds’ bag dds bag and Dd from the carpark up there stairs to nursery (lifts out of action because covid).

My hand and arm pain is back. So this hasn’t helped it one bit. Pity party here.

On the plus side today I spent £2.00 on a coffee, £2.6 on chocolate and a colleague bought me a white choc magnum.

SnugglySnerd · 22/07/2020 19:44

Fingers crossed Unescorted, we are enjoying Mrs America too, I have just dispatched dh to buy some nice chocolate (plus some things we actually need) to eat with tonight's episodes. Bit annoying he has to go to the shop though as it had been an nsd up u till then.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 22/07/2020 19:46

Hopping back on.
I’ve been able to see my darling Mum for the first time since lockdown. She’s staying with my sister at present, who brought her over and we had a lovely day out at NT Nymans. We took a picnic lunch and I had a long sleep under a tree. Mum is very neat handed and gave my sister, myself and DP a haircut each. My sister brought home made Shrewsbury biscuits and meringues.

@ememem84, my sister is a teacher too, Mum and I often benefit from end of term presents!
@xmummy2princesx, your bathroom looks most inviting! Some bubbles, a magazine and a glass of wine would be just the job 😺
Work just contacted me offering a days leave for tomorow which I’ve taken. I’ll do the laundry and some baking. Mum brought my layer cake tins down which were at her house so we can have a change from buns. There isn’t a thing in the freezer as regards baking so I’ll stock up a bit. Hope everybody is having a nice evening.
