Hopefully it will be soon @ememem84.

Bought a new bedsheet for our bedroom at lunchtime (they are having to be washed more often than usual in the warm weather), and it was £10 less at checkout than the marked price so frugal win!

Unescorted · 26/07/2019 17:02

Em I think with it being more imminent the baby reports need to be a bit more frequent.

wolf you have picked an awesome week for the weather. Working in this heat has been grim.... although not much seems to be getting done.

Where did you get the sheets from thats. I am on the hunt for some - 1 for our bed and another for a back for a quilt. I have got into the habit of making a quilt each time the boys go on an adventure. Just because it means they don't wheel their bikes across it while I am pinning it.

I have been so organised.... DS uniform for next year is all sorted. For those with toothpicks for children. Tescos are doing Skinny fit jeans. £13 for a pack of 2. Normally I have to purchase the pair that got forgotten in the store room - whatever size it is. Last year DS was sporting the hipster ankle grazer look.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 26/07/2019 18:06

Unescorted, it's a nice feeling isn't it?!
Saying that I still have to get the DCs their shirts/ blouses, but their sizes are out of stock atm.

NSD today.

WreckTangled · 26/07/2019 18:20

Our bed sheet has a big rip in it, I noticed this morning and we only have one Blush

ememem84 · 26/07/2019 19:10

Noted unescorted will keep you up to date as much as I can remember to

Made carbonara for dinner.

Ds ate it. Yay!!!

Dh is now trying to wrestle him into bed. Despite the fact he woke up from his nap at 4 so probably isn’t tired yet....

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 26/07/2019 19:19

It is raining. Lots. It is no bastard cooler though

OP posts:
Girliefriendlikescake · 26/07/2019 20:10

Evening all!

Pay day today 😁 always nice!

Em you're baby is obviously way too comfy!!

Much cooler here today and we had rain earlier, can't believe how different two days can be to each other in this country!

Treated us to a pay day dominoes tonight, got a large pizza, two side orders and a chocolate pizza for £20. There's a fair bit left for tomos as well.

I also had a subway today 😶 £4.20

Not the healthiest of days, why does crap food taste so good?!

Only other spend was 90p on milk.

Last day at work for two whole weeks, very happy about that!!

ememem84 · 26/07/2019 20:20

@Girliefriendlikescake that’s what I was thinking!!!!

Dh is hoping this weekend. He gets 2 weeks paternity leave and then has 2 weeks holiday when mil is over. This means that is it’s this weekend he has a month off work.

I’m hopjng it’s soon. I’m so uncomfortable.

Unescorted · 26/07/2019 21:16

wolf it is cooler over here - only a wee bit of rain, but I may be able to put the quilt back on the bed. Not necessarily on me, but the bed...

Em thank you.

@Lonelyoversharer … dot watching link for you.trackleaders.com/tourdivide19 They start at 9am Banff time. If he finishes he will be the youngest ever... He is hoping for 25 days.

Taytocrisps · 26/07/2019 22:56

Busy few days but I've been checking in to see if there's any news on the baby front. em when you do go into labour, we'll be expecting live reports from Kay Burley outside the maternity hospital.

I paid DD's school book rental fee yesterday (€140) and renewed the TV licence today (€160). I also spent approx. €10 on groceries and €12 on a take away for DD and her friend. The friend is here for a sleepover. Just hoping they don't make too much noise.

It's very humid here but hasn't been particularly sunny. We haven't had the extreme temperatures seen in other parts of Europe.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 27/07/2019 07:48

Packing up the cottage ready to go home. Out for beers with friends this afternoon and they are feeding us. Need to pick up some bits to take.

Away with work a few days next week so need to start getting organised for that.

Happy weekend frugaleers

Happierwithouthim · 27/07/2019 07:52

Checking in for baby update Grin

Unescorted · 27/07/2019 08:14

Me too happier

Wolf sounds a top plan for the weekend / end of holiday easy yourself back into the week plan.

I am going to make another sour dough this morning. And start the annual tidy up while everyone is away thing..... I suspect I will be making friends at the tip.

ememem84 · 27/07/2019 08:30

No baby. Still pregnant and enormous. I caught sight of myself in the mirror yesterday. I am about double the size I was with ds. No wonder I’m uncomfortable!!!

Slept in until 745 this morning. Dh brought me a cup of tea which I’m just finishing and in a couple of minutes I’m heading down to see ds so dh can watch the rugby.

Plans today. Not much. I don’t feel like doing anything so will potter round the house and do some small manageable jobs.

Dh is taking ds to see Fil this afternoon and they’re going to look at a ww2 bunker which has been opened up by the local Occupation Society (for those of you who may not know - jersey is littered with nazi bunkers from the war as we were occupied by the nazi forces for the majority of it).

Girliefriendlikescake · 27/07/2019 08:31

I wonder if em will be like my friend who I was texting at 10.30pm and had absolutely no signs of labour and then sent me a pic of squidgy newborn at 7am the next morning!!

Wish I could have popped dd out like that!!

Busy day today, off to see the puppy in a bit, then to town and then to pets at home.

I need a list as I've got lots of bits to remember!

Unescorted · 27/07/2019 08:33

em take it easy.

ememem84 · 27/07/2019 09:24

Let’s hope so girlie

Ds and I are playing duplos at the moment. I’m trying to teach him colours. Everything is “ello” at the moment. We’ll work on it.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 27/07/2019 12:38

£63 Sainsbury’s
£11 mcds

Have bought strawberries olives and sweets for friends “house” and beers each for them for doing my bins while I’ve been away

Taytocrisps · 27/07/2019 12:45

Still waiting for DD and her friend to get up. DD is awake but her friend is still asleep. Remember being a teenager and sleeping half the day? Smile

I've made a list of practical things I should do over the next few weeks and months:-

  • Transfer all the bills into my name
  • Sort out life insurance policy (it's currently a joint life insurance policy)
  • Call into the tax office to enquire about changing my status from married to single person
  • Make a will (I don't want Ex inheriting anything)
  • Draw up list of 'Useful things to know in the event of my untimely death' and give to a family member
  • Check out health insurance companies/policies. I'm currently covered by DH's occupational health insurance

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Rightwayup · 27/07/2019 12:57

Tayto have you a pension and death in service? Had you nominated ex? May want to change them

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 27/07/2019 12:57

Tayto do you have council tax ? If so register for single person discount

Go through bills and make sure you aren’t paying for anything of h’s

Tv licence - easy one to forget.

OP posts:
Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 27/07/2019 12:58

Also if you have security clearance you may need to declare it (I forgot this one until recently)

OP posts:
Taytocrisps · 27/07/2019 13:08

I have a work pension but I don't know if I ever nominated anyone - must check that out.

We don't pay council tax here. Just out of interest, what does that cover?

I paid the TV licence yesterday so I've already added it to the list of bills to be transferred into my name.

ememem84 · 27/07/2019 13:16

Any Netflix amazon prime accounts which were joint? If so change passwords on all devices so he doesn’t benefit from them.

Locks changed on house? Just in case.

Around £7 spent this morning. I took ds to the farm shop and scored a massive amount of “seconds” apples and bananas. So am planning on making banana loaf and maybe a apple crumble/cake at some point.

Stopped at the “pig van” to buy sausage rolls for lunch. We met a pig.

Then an impromptu stop at the park for 20 minutes or so of crazy reckless park time.

It’s the first time for a long time I’ve taken him out completely by myself. He was so good. And it was so fun.

Realistically this could be he last weekend he’s an only child.

Have tidied the airing cupboard and have bullied dh into putting his clothes away.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 27/07/2019 13:23

Tayto it covers things like roads, bins, fire service, adult and child social care, police and crime commissioners, street lighting, gritting etc
