Assignment finished. Save for some tinkering with formatting tomorrow morning. Will post off tomorrow lunchtime. Happy with it. Yay.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 02/07/2019 21:33

Well done Em

Lovemaltesers · 02/07/2019 21:40

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. I know I don’t post much at the moment, normally because life is pretty mundane most of the time. My parents do cause me a lot of worry at the moment. Why do they have to get old? Sad

www.hotukdeals.com/deals/free-150-school-uniform-grant-schemes-open-heres-where-you-can-get-one-3255565
Wonder if this might help anyone

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2019 06:43

Good luck today ok laputa. Love that sounds tough. I thought uti too. Hope it's something simple
DS was up most of the night vomiting. WFH today so save buying gym pass for another day

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2019 06:44

My click is a link to a hot deals for a school uniform grant btw

maddenlightfoot · 03/07/2019 07:02

Oh Love, that sounds so scary for your DPs Thanks, hope there's some answers and your df is feeling a bit better today (and hope you've managed to sort your childcare too x)

Sea it sounds like your mum would be much happier nearer to grandchildren and I actually think in later years, a more urban area with more going on and better transport can be a lifesaver in older age. Hope it all works out!

Yesterday was so, so spendy 😫. Firstly I'd forgotten that Bulb goes out on 2nd so had to transfer £100 in to current account. Next was £50 on a term of forest school. £10 teacher gift contribution and finally £185 mot. Our car has cost us around £1k in the past 3 months. Unlucky car karma.

maddenlightfoot · 03/07/2019 07:03

...and life, poor ds! Hope he gets some respite today and you get some work done.

Girliefriendlikescake · 03/07/2019 09:07

Love there can be all sorts of reversible reasons for acute confusion esp in older people, it's good they are checking him out. They might want to scan his head at some point as well, have they ruled out UTI, chest infection etc?

I've got a day off today, plan is to go for a run (as my clothes are feeling far too tight Blush ) do a dump trip, make some phone calls and do some tidying up. In theory should be a NSD.

I seem to be getting a few scams coming through atm Angry yesterday had a robotic voice tell me my internet was going to get cut off unless I pressed 1 Hmm I had a text telling me Halifax were concerned about a large transaction in my account, i'm not with Halifax Hmm and I had a letter telling me I was now a company director and I needed to get in touch with them to arrange registering it Hmm

So annoying and wrong, I obviously just ignore but I can see how vulnerable people get drawn in.

Thatsnotmybaby · 03/07/2019 12:17

I'm the same @Girliefriendlikescake, my trousers feel a little tight around the middle so I'm trying to bring more healthy food to work, and to get plenty of rest as I'm always tempted by sugar when I'm tired.

Lovemaltesers · 03/07/2019 12:27

No real update from GP. Blood test yesterday had a problem with it so he has to have it re done today. Monday he is off for a chest X-ray. Hopefully get some answers from these.

This morning he thought it was Sunday and was planning things around going to church.

ememem84 · 03/07/2019 12:41

£7.81 at post office. Send my essay off by special delivery. Should arrive tomorrow lunchtime. Ta da!!!! Done.

£7 pet shop on biscuits for catface. I knew I’d have to get it today but thought we’d have enough for her breakfast. We didn’t so she had a can of tuna. Spoiled. 😂

LivingInLaputa · 03/07/2019 13:49

Hope the puking stops life!

Therapy was good, going to see her in a couple of weeks then monthly after that because £90 a session 😭 but I do think money well spent.

Girliefriendlikescake · 03/07/2019 15:29

Glad the therapy was useful Lap I had some a while back and it was really helpful but yes it is so expensive!

So not a NSD after all, I spoke to dds O.T this afternoon about some of the difficulties she is having and she recommended a book called Zones of Regulation, she said it's really good for teenagers. Anyway I came home and had a look on Amazon, its £54!!! I nearly fell over, I double checked it wasn't any cheaper on Ebay but its not. I have bought it and am trying not to panic about where I will claw that money back from. If it helps dd will be worth it, it might be useful for you lap and maybe sea as well, i'll let you know if its any good (it bloody better be for £54!!)

The O.T has said she will see dd again and also suggested SLT so will refer to both of them this afternoon. Apparently there are no paediatricians in Somerset who will accept referrals for high functioning autism so not sure we will be able to get a formal diagnosis which is shit really.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2019 16:19

Possibly too late now girlie but can you order it from the library?

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2019 16:20

Pleased the therapy was worth it.
,£25 car park for the summer, £40 hair in about an hour.
No more episodes today just tummy ache

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 03/07/2019 16:50

£420 car repairs

maddenlightfoot · 03/07/2019 17:58

Girlie I hope the book is worth it for your dd. I just had a quick look at amazon.com to see if it was cheaper from there. It's not (would be over $100 shipping to uk 😱) but worth a shot.

Annoyed with myself for spending £3.55 at bloody Greggs this morning. Honestly, I'm not surprised they make so much profit when they're on so many people's journey to work. The idea of a cheese and bacon wrap popped into my head and before I knew it I'd also bought a tuna crunch baguette 🙄 - I have no willpower when it comes to Greggs savoury section.

My saving grace is that I was supposed to buy wine to take round to a friend tonight and I was actually given one as a thank you today so I don't have to buy one. My punishment is having to share the wine!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2019 18:38

£42 hair, £64 Aldi but I'm going to make do 10 days with just fresh stuff

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/07/2019 18:40

Didn't your just spend a load on the car recently wolf. That's a big bill

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 03/07/2019 18:41

This was bodywork Life because I was careless. The last lot was a big service and MOT but yes it’s been a very expensive car year so far

ememem84 · 03/07/2019 18:48

£1.82 M&S on rice cakes so ds and I could have a snack on the grass outside nursery while we waited for dh after work.

I hope everyone is having an ok day life hope ds feels better.

girlie would a kindle version of the book have been any cheaper and did you check the market place? I assume you did.

northender · 03/07/2019 19:53

Just read back after a few days awol.
Tayto your sisters sound fab & you're definitely not derailing things here by talking.
Love hope your dad is okay, it's hard to see your parents deteriorate.
Wolf I can join you in the big car bills club. This week was double MOT/service week & both were over £400. Eek!. It is budgeted for, but I hadn't quite budgeted enough! The mechanic is confident both cars have a couple of years at least left in them so that's reassuring. One is 9 years old (140000 miles) and the other 12 (94000 miles).
Busy as ever here. Ferrying kids around, making cricket teas, trying to crack on with the quilt I'm making. I've just sent the entry forms off today (£6 special delivery as I've left it a bit late, not frugal), mum is entering 2 and dd & I 1 each. The comp & show is a week after mum's 80th birthday. Am really looking forward to it, but am very behind. Will post a pic of the squares I've done so far.
