Lonely, don't get me wrong, there isn't a side that doesn't have something on it that shouldn't be on it!
We are all as bad as each other here.
Our home is clean but cluttered.

It's just that we had a deal, we live in an upstairs 2 bed maisonette and there are 6 of us altogether, eldest (DD20)is at Uni and the next eldest(DS17) practically lives with his gf and family. So 4 at the minute, me, dp, DS2, 13 and DD2, 8.
So the deal was that anything he wanted to keep would be stored in the garage, sigh. And we knew what was in the cupboard and wouldn't add to it as we are trying to deal with what we have. So...

I think I will just tackle the house over the next few weeks before I go back to work, I only work term time and hopefully I can make a big enough dent for it to be sustainable.

ememem84 · 12/08/2018 17:05

wrong is absolutely do it. I’m tempted to set up a “side hustle” organising wardrobes.

I start by emptying it completely. Then everything either gets kept, donated or thrown away. Three piles.

The keep goes back in and all hangers face the same way. Then, once you wear something it goes back with the hangers the other way. After 6 weeks if something hasn’t been worn (because the hangers haven’t changed) get rid.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/08/2018 17:07

Take it easy Wolf

Definitely Wreck, I sometimes get the feeling they just don't see it!

Wrongwayup · 12/08/2018 17:17

Em what a good idea re the hangers. I fear about 90%would be gone . I will have a sort but doubt that I will be as ruthless

ScandiLady · 12/08/2018 17:17

We are probably the opposite of hoarder. We both hate clutter and the feeling of being crowded in. So we declutter every quarter

ememem84 · 12/08/2018 17:19

I took all my clothes and toiletries (the afore mentioned masses of bags) to dparents. Along with ds. Dm gave him lunch and I unpacked the car. Then he napped. I went home (had been gone an hour) and dh had done nothing. Apart from watch a film.

So have hassled him to pack up his shit. And he did it. And we have now packed everything away at Dparents.

I have three outfits for work. A gym bag. And incidentals still at home. Will pack these up on Tuesday evening. And put them in the car. I’m having a half day on Wednesday hopefully so will leave work and drive them straight to dparents. Have lunch get changed then go do more house things.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/08/2018 17:21

About £4 in Tesco.

I've overdone it too Wolf. I'm making chicken tikka masala with rice, flatbread and onion bhaji. The only bit I didn't make from scratch was the sodding rice. I feel like I have a cold coming on.

I batch cooked the bhaji but didn't use the same recipe and realised too late it was lacking in cumin. So I now have about 30 slightly bland bhaji. Great.

ScandiLady · 12/08/2018 17:22

Sometimes we do loose things we need later but I get stressed by clutter and stuff laying around...

Wolfcub · 12/08/2018 17:26

Fluffy can you make a slightly spicy dip for them to perk them up?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/08/2018 17:27

Ahh Scandi, I can only dream!

Em I'm going to do that trick with the hangers, I got rid of loads of clothes a couple of months ago, but this way I will see what I do actually wear!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/08/2018 17:38

Spends
Local coffee shop £5.60
Tiger £5
Boots £3.99
Greggs £1.50
Lush £18.90
Morrisons £7.90 on a few bits I forgot yesterday.

I've done the DCs uniform apart from DS2 shoes, he is only 13 and a size 9 already and is bloody taller than me ffs!
I'm going to get his a week before school starts, just incase they grow more.
Tbf it doesnt take a lot to be taller than me, I'm only 5'2 (I think)

Justanothermile · 12/08/2018 17:39

Grin house with a paddock life. DM, thankfully DB was there. She likes DB Grin I got my shit together and have pottered about all day. I'm fairly organised now for going back to work tomorrow.

Fab tip about the clothes em.

Spice up the bhaji's with a dip maybe fluffy?

DH has been on a decluttering mission in his garage today. Men like a garage I find.

Would he fold the washing if you asked wrecked, or is that not the point? I'd understand if it was the latter - that pisses me off too.

Roast chicken for the boys for tea, I've done a veggie satay type thing for me and DD.

I'm in profit today. I spent £2.75 on a lint roll, to take horse hair from a number of pony items still to sell but made £20 on some dog agility equipment DH brought in from the garage. I undersold, as about a million folk messaged me, but I'm not even sure where the stuff came from in the first place.

Justanothermile · 12/08/2018 17:41

scandi we are the same in general. Often, the things you keep just in case they are useful you forget you have and you buy again anyway! I've got one drawer of clutter though, for things that I'm not sure what to do with!

Justanothermile · 12/08/2018 17:42

cag and wolf ThanksThanks, take it easy.

Justanothermile · 12/08/2018 17:44

snuggly I love using up old bits from the fridge like that!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/08/2018 17:44

Hi all I have very intermittent WiFi but am trying to keep up!

Love the cute kid pics, dd is the same much braver than me and will happily hold spiders, snakes etc. I think a lot of it is nature as I'm naturally cautious but it's made no difference to dd who will give anything a go!!

We went to a local carnival last night and got soaked! It was torrential rain but dd loved it, got dinner down there ended up spending £15 I think.

Today have been to Hartland Quay which has stunning scenery and dd had a brilliant time rock pooling. Spent £7 ish on ice creams and drinks.

Justanothermile · 12/08/2018 17:46

It's stunning in Scotland isn't it seacow? Love the photos, similar views last week for us, just one example below.

Cagliostro · 12/08/2018 18:36

Thanks jam :)

Often, the things you keep just in case they are useful you forget you have and you buy again anyway! Yep 😳 you basically described my entire old house. Like em though I found moving an excellent incentive to declutter, once we had the keys I suddenly found it easy to get rid of a load more stuff.

Oddly I don't have any issue with clothes though, quite the opposite. I have under 15 actual clothing items I think, I'm a scruff ATM! Have been slowly ditching stuff as it becomes too big and CBA to replace yet.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/08/2018 18:47

wolf Itll be dipped n the curry sauce anyway. I just need a better recipe.

Born would a soup maker be any good for you? soup is very cheap and filling.

ScandiLady · 12/08/2018 19:04

Going with my friend tomorrow as a bystander for mediation between her and her x regarding their daugther. Im a bit anxious about it, I know Im just the bystander but I also know it's going to be an ugly mediation between them.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/08/2018 19:40

It sounds horrible.

QuiteCleanBanditlovesdresses · 12/08/2018 19:43

Absolutely done in.
Have cleaned, stripped all the beds ,did laundry, bathrooms, hoovered ,made all the beds back up,baked 2 cakes then after lunch cleaned out the henhouse and did some gardening.
Just descaled the kettle, replaced lights in the cooker hood and cleaned the dripping in oil Blush grease extractor thingies .
I need to get new sheet things for it tomorrow and then tackle the oven with one of those home cleaning kits 🤤😭😭😭

Im currently reading a mse thread about someone who had 67K debt-need to go on there more often to keep up with tips and tricks .
em How lovely will it be when you have everything all organised in your new home -way to go !
Sorry Im too tired to name check.
We are a right busy lot -I whizzed around thinking it would rain and then it didnt!

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/08/2018 19:48

That's good dB was there to deflect jam.
Going to Rightmove somewhere and set my savings goal. Grin

Spendy but nice day today. £49 ish at the Mela. £19 Amazon damm Christmas thread

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/08/2018 19:50

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-66861904.html

Bit too far from school though.

BreatheSlower · 12/08/2018 19:50

Cag I'm more like you for clothes. I have slightly more actual items, but it's all 5 identical pairs of trousers, and 10 identical t-shirts in two colours, and 5 identical jumpers in two colours. I have three skirts, one black dress and one lovely blue satin evening dress, and that's me really.

NSD today. I'm really getting much better at this since I started playing musical instruments instead of building things. Playing music doesn't seem to need new parts every other day.
