I bet some baby snacks cost more than fillet steak.

I made vegan brownies but as a round cake. Forgot I only usually use half the recipe. It's a bit big so I will have to halve and freeze.

I'm already planning winter menu stuff. Suet pastry looks easy enough, I could do a steak pie for myself. Dh doesn't like suet pastry. I could steam it in the slow cooker.

Bandit Thank, yes I have tried that, but tbh I think it's too complicated and too private for a public forum. I have a very good GP though and he is gradually untangling it all. We just have to keep plodding forward until it all uravels and normal life resumes.

OP posts:
QuiteCleanBandit · 07/08/2018 14:17

This is a public forum though Sunny unless what you mean is there is much more to it that you cant discuss ?
Generally I dont think things just unravel themselves .
Its taken me 18 months of pushing to get my shoulder seen, diagnosed and treated .
while being constantly told there was nothing wrong several surgeries later ...

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 14:31

I'm sorry to hear that Bandit. Yes there is a bunch more of it going on. Whenever I try to post on a forum it turns out that I need to explain much more detail than I want to. I've just written a summary for the GP that I'm seeing tomorrow though, so I don't need to frantically explain it all in about 4 seconds flat, so maybe that will help.

OP posts:
QuiteCleanBandit · 07/08/2018 14:39

Sorry to hear that Sunny
Hope the gp can help-I always found writing things down helped and always did as they suggested -hate taking painkillers but they were right ,it did help although I needed surgery in the end ,it meant they listened to me.

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 14:43

Thanks Bandit. I'll do my best then. Thanks for encouraging me along. Smile

My parents have arrived cavalry-style to play with ds. Phew!

ememem84 · 07/08/2018 15:30

Thunder. And lightening here. And buckets of rain.

Guess who didn’t bring a jumper for the gym....

I’m enjoying a cup of tea and a handful of baby toblerones. Mmm.

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 15:31

That sounds wonderful Em. If you get a chance to send some thunder our way we'd be glad to have it.

Laska5772 · 07/08/2018 15:32

My phone has been playing up so I bought a new one and I've just realised it doesn't have pound signs and some other things I need on the keyboard Hmm

Laska5772 · 07/08/2018 15:40

Oh typed that and the found them!
So spends £160

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/08/2018 15:42

I'm sat in the swimming pool cafe while dd and her friend swim, they seem to be getting on so am crossing fingers for a successful afternoon!

I'm certain you're not contagious sunny my guess is you've had a bug which has aggravated your CFS/IBS stuff. Are you eating properly yet? I wonder how many of the symptoms could be due to vit D deficiency, I know you've said in the past you've struggled with supplements but honestly they couldn't make you feel worse than now could they?

I spent £33 in aldi and got a ton of food so happy with that.

Also spent £16 in poundland mostly on toiletries but some food as well.

£6 for the girls to swim.

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 15:42

D'oh! I was just sitting here thinking "I wonder why Laska needs a £ key. She must be doing something very sophisticated on her phone. ". LOL!

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 15:45

Girlie Thanks, but unfortunately even water is not working super-well at the moment. Hoping the GP has an idea.

Had a nice morning with my friend then an awful afternoon with the dc. I am shouty mum. So much so I have a sore throat. Ffs.

At dds swimming lesson now and she's the only one here so it's a bargain 1:1 for her.

Flappyjack · 07/08/2018 16:21

Busy day here gardening, sorting, trips to the tip etc.

We had lunch in McDonald's. £13.21 for the four of us. I made everyone order from the savers menu.

DH taken DS's on a bike ride this afternoon. Will need to think of something more exciting to to do tomorrow.....wish I didn't log into facebook and see all the other families I know in Disneyland or Ibiza 🤢

Good luck at your appointment sunny

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 16:41

Those families are just #frugalFail Flappy. You're doing the right thing. Star

Thanks for the encouragement. Smile

QuiteCleanBandit · 07/08/2018 16:59

If its any comfort Flappy we were chatting about this the other day .
DS2 has no recollection of going to Disney -at bloody all
He does remember the time I fell off my bike into a puddle and got covered in mud.
Then the rain washed the mud off and they all laughed AngryGrin
One of his favorite memories HmmGrin

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 17:02

I think that's right Bandit. I went to Disneyland Paris once and it was OK. By contrast I really enjoyed scrambling around in bushes and #stuffLikeThat.

OP posts:
Flappyjack · 07/08/2018 17:37

Thanks quite and sunny Social media has a lot to answer for I think.

DS1's favourite memory is throwing snowballs at me 🙉

It is a shame we've only managed to take DS1 abroad once and DS2 never.

Once the new job finally arrives (after dbs checks), it will be my savings priority.

Onthe plus side, my credit card has dropped to £163. Swings and roundabouts eh?

QuiteCleanBandit · 07/08/2018 17:51

I accidently logged out of FB a while ago, havent logged in and havent even though about it.
Log out for the rest of the holsFlappy
Insta doesnt make me feel as bad-I know its all posed

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 07/08/2018 17:51

Just a quick check in.
When I'm visiting my DM, she tells me off if I'm on my phone and rightly so as I don't get to see her as often as I would like.
Yesterday was lovely at Southend, spent about £40 and that included lunch for £16, so not to bad really.

Em, so excited for you, hope everything runs smoothly.
Sunny, hope you get some answers tomorrow.

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 18:00

Flappy don't worry about travel. I saw most of Western Europe in my childhood and most of the USA in adulthood, and it just wore me out and screwed me up. I would have preferred to stay at home with a nice cuppa, and firm sense of my own local roots.

OP posts:
Loveabaconsandwich · 07/08/2018 18:04

We've never taken our DC abroad flappy, oldest is 7. They have been to another country though- Wales. I'm the only person with a valid passport so won't be going far at present

StoogingOn · 07/08/2018 18:16

Oddly though, ds knows so many people from all over the world from school and the children in the playground speak French and English interchangeably, so he will be just as cosmopolitan as I was. I like that.
