Girlie I think the only advantage that is gained from a formal assessment is that the assessor can then give feedback on where the differences are between the child and their peers. Apart from the self-knowlege that the individual then gets, they also have a far better understanding of what it is about their friends that are different so they can then accommodate those differences more effectively.

When I had ds assessed, I learned a bit about him, but I also learnt a huge amount about the other children who are considered to be neurotypical, and who up until now I had not really understood very well.

Tbh I did not learn it from the feedback though, I learned it from the process of answering the questions and during the test, so you might learn a great deal by just getting hold of a copy of the questionnaire and going through it yourself with your dd. It's just like doing one of those personality quizzes on facebook.

Hello mrschuck cutting back on frivolous things so we can spend on things we actually want to is what we do best here. Are you meal planning?

So far today, finished my work, and planted up a 1x1m raised bed (had this for 10 years, so reusing not buying) with 3 hardy tomatoes, carrots, beetroot, turnips and salad leaves.

Also, have cancelled zwift for the time being, I'm not using it atm, and its £8/m.

And (rather stupidly) I have only just realised that my debenhams store card probably had ppi on it. I have had the card 20 years...quick google suggests its Santander I contact for this. It's the only other thing I would have had it on. Even though I'm in a huge hole of debt now, up until about 7 years ago I had one credit card, one mortgage (paid off, no ppi I checked), and one store card. And I have already settled the claim on my car loan from 2001.

Nails £26.50 (with a discount from the usual £39)

Also booked a mil avoiding pedicure for the week after next. it’s going to be a spendy two weeks

And £3.15 on metanium cream for ds. But boots points used so it doesn’t count.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2018 14:37

£10 petrol
£7 morrisons for 3 beef mince, 3 reduced pitta breads and reduced mushrooms for mushroom confit.

£79 on three weeks shopping from waitrose but I’m sending the substituted mince back as it’s low fat so that’s £8.

Still time lonely. Someone Dh knows had a parent who got £18k back.

You probably need lash extensions too em, that’s a very long treatment. 48hr patch test.

ememem84 · 24/05/2018 14:41

fluffy I actually want lash extensions. But they’re spendy.....and whilst I can probably get dh to pay for my pedicure I think that’s pushing it a bit although had thought about suggesting he leases lovely pony for me for the summer

WreckTangled · 24/05/2018 14:43

I want lash extensions but can't be bothered with the upkeep

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2018 14:46

Chuck It’ll be tight, are your children light eaters?. Any pets?.

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/05/2018 14:49

Em Lash extension are far far beyond the range of things that I even knew existed. You should do them just to balance out my presence in the universe.

CremeEggThief · 24/05/2018 15:04

I think lash extensions only cost about £30 up here in the North East. You're in the minority if you don't have them, almost!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 24/05/2018 15:36

£20 in Aldi, not bought much as will be away next week.

My gas and electric DD is being reduced to £57 a month from July so happy with that, also got my tax credit letter and am relieved as although it has been reduced a bit its not too dramatic.

Watching Chelsea highlights on iplayer, my Godmother has offered to take me next year!!

ememem84 · 24/05/2018 16:16

Lash extensions: full set (assuming top and bottom lashes?) £80 half set £45 so not actually as much as I thought initially.

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/05/2018 16:23

How about eyebrow extensions?

MrsChuckBass · 24/05/2018 16:31

Yes fluffy I have done a meal plan, we already have a ridiculous amount of food such as pasta, rice, frozen veg etc so we are topping up at the moment! We have no pets and DDs are 1&3.
We are all out of the house during the day, DH has free lunch at work, I take packed lunch to work and DDs eat at childminder so only have lunch costs over the weekend!
Our surplus income after we have paid absolutely everything each month is £989 which I know is plenty for 4 of us but going to try and get debts down!
£3600 credit card
£4500 very account BlushBlush
I have cut up the credit card so just paying it off and paying off the very account and then closing it-don't know what I was thinking!!
Planning to pay off £400 each month for each one and then £189 for treats
Ooops sorry for the long post!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2018 16:40

Is the credit card on interest free?.

MrsChuckBass · 24/05/2018 16:41

Yes credit card is interest free!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2018 16:48

Brilliant, if you stay on track you’ll be debt free March 2019.

Do you have any other expenses you can cut?. Ppi to reclaim?. You can reclaim the insurance part of credit expert subscriptions if you’ve had one.

Do you have cashback accounts with topcashback?.

You can switch accounts to get extra cash, moneysaving expert have a section on it.

Wolfcub · 24/05/2018 16:49

Em what about LVL which is mash tint and lift. Not horrendously spendy and takes at least an hour.

What a day.... I went to make my lunch to find the gas wasn't working. We have had the gas contractors working up the street because of a gas leak So I popped across to ask if they had turned off our gas.....oh no just to that house but we have bypassed the leak and just filling the hole and turned will be off.

They are now digging up my newly planted vegetable garden and patio. And next doors and the garden next to that. We have no hot water, heating or hob. Fortunately we have an electric oven and showers at work.

Sorry needed that rant.

Unescorted · 24/05/2018 17:04

Hi mrsc I ran over you with my tales of woe.

MrsChuckBass · 24/05/2018 17:07

Fluffy we have cut everything we can really, DD2 is turning 2 in July we have already booked and paid for her party so that's one less expense to worry about!
We have decided not to go abroad this year but are going to stay with my parents for a few days who live in a seaside town so still a kind of holiday which has saved us a fortune.
No PPI I've already checked!
Thanks for the great tips what a welcoming bunch Brew

MrsChuckBass · 24/05/2018 17:08

Hi unescorted! Any idea how long it'll be off for?

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/05/2018 17:11

Ok, look into switching accounts. Moneysavingexpert reckon if two people do it it’s £1000 in cash. I think marks and Spencer’s do vouchers for their switch but you can buy Christmas presents using vouchers. Or food.

I do e reward surveys and used nectar points to buy all the December food and Christmas champagne.

Unescorted · 24/05/2018 17:14

We are the best part of MN.

Unescorted · 24/05/2018 17:15

Days.... Hopefully it is reconnected over the weekend. Don't stand down wind of me.

ememem84 · 24/05/2018 17:24

I should point out that I don’t necessarily need appointments to fill my time whilst mil is over. Friends are on call for an “emergency” if I need it.
