Curry is nice recipe jere it's veggie. I think it needs a side salad Dh thinks it needs chicken Hmm

WreckTangled · 18/02/2017 17:40

I still use muslins now!

mammy it's pro rata so spread across the year. Yes that's for eleven of us too Shock for two nights. At least I can call in on my sister whilst I'm there

ememem84 · 18/02/2017 17:48

Been to visit dm this afternoon. Cup of tea in the sunny garden. Nice. Now home making chicken in breadcrumbs with stir fried veggie rice.

Dh has hoovered and cleaned the en suite.

Yay. Catface has lounged in the bay window all afternoon.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/02/2017 17:51

I didn't need maternity clothes until 6 months with dc1. 12 weeks with DC but he was huge.

No need please don't show is your abs or I will have to show you my ab singular. Don't want to fall out now do we. clearly V envious as I have to be core careful to protect my pelvic floor

Em DO YOUR SQUEEZES. Lots of good advice the em.

£10.40 Chinese and £80 sainsburys today.

FoolandFitz · 18/02/2017 18:06

I'm another one who never used a muslin.

Just had a very frugal dinner just for me of spinach dahl, brown rice and chicken curry made from a leftover roast. Yum. I only had 40g uncooked rice portion as I find brown rice so filling. I asked DP if he wanted the same but he said no so he got the same as DS. I always end up cooking 2 dinners as DS is super-douper fussy to the point of eating 3 different very bland (and unfortunately very unhealthy) dinners only, which I rotate round, and I like super healthy and spicy food. DP ends up eating the same as DS quite often as I won't cook separately for him as well.

ememem84 · 18/02/2017 18:40

life snaps. I have one giant ab. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/02/2017 18:58

My robo Hoover arrived, lidl are doing it £10 cheaper next week.

Needastrongone · 18/02/2017 19:30

My DC never entertained each other at all sadly when they were young, but they are good mates now thankfully. I never thought that day would come, and the bickering was hard work at times..

Grin at Life. You loon. Grin

Needastrongone · 18/02/2017 19:31

Fool I would love your meal too. DH wouldn't. He would say something like Wrecked's DH. Link didn't work on my laptop btw.

WreckTangled · 18/02/2017 19:40

Hmm try again

I would like that too fool

WreckTangled · 18/02/2017 19:41

Last try

MeadowHay · 18/02/2017 20:08

I made vegetable balti for our tea last night out of my veggie weight watchers' cookbook, it was ok but the veg was a bit too crunchy so next time I will cook it on a bit of a higher heat although DH said it was better like that as more of the nutrients stay in the vegetables.

Today I am making a super lazy tea of pre-prepped mixed vegetables for roasting Blush, tinned potatoes, and Quorn gammon steaks. But I'm not feeling very well so I can't be arsed making much else. And DH always is so appreciative. If I gave him beans on toast every day when he came in from work he would still thank me 50 times lol bless him.

ememem84 · 18/02/2017 20:18

We're watching sharknado 2. It's possibly the best worst movie I've ever seen.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/02/2017 20:19

Ah meadow sometimes lazy tea is the exact thing required.

Thanks need Grin

Have a lazy day planned tomorrow as dh going away. Driving to the lakes Monday for the day so don't mind so much. Nsd planned both days except fuel

CremeEggThief · 18/02/2017 20:49

NSD here. Managed to make wholemeal pasta mixed with tinned chillI beans, lots of black pepper and grated cheese for dinner.

ememem84 · 18/02/2017 21:05

Now in bed with camomile tea watching the new season of bones. Yay!!

SnugglySnerd · 18/02/2017 21:27

I'm getting a cold now. Great.

ChristmasSeacow · 18/02/2017 23:41

Oh no Snuggly! Hope it goes before you pop.

Meadow thank you for sharing how new experiences feel to you. It helps me to understand DS better and I admire you hugely for overcoming your discomfort and facing your fears to do things so many people take for granted. (Also, your DH sounds completely wonderful!)

Fool i also think your dinner sounds nice. I love brown rice, DH doesn't though. He and I usually eat together and as long as I avoid the completely hated foods (cheese, mushrooms and lamb) he will go along with it graciously and eat it and thank me, even if it isn't his kind of food. He doesn't cook at all though so he knows it is quite reasonable that i have most influence over what we eat. Hence usually brown carbs. I love healthy food AND treat food (cake, nuts, crisps). Really never been keen on beige food though.

I always said I wasn't going to be someone who cooks several different meals but DS never eats what we eat. With his ASD I am glad he eats anything even halfway healthy. I also think that feeding kids is harder for most people than they'd imagined anyway - I think many struggle with this! I hope more food common ground will evolve over time within our family, then I'll be living the dream.

Abs - I presume I have some buried somewhere. Never seen them. Are they the ones that complain the day after a massive laughing fit?

Ipsomatic · 19/02/2017 03:30

Need your kids probably did more for each other than you knew. The tricky thing about having an only one (I've discovered) is that in the absence of a sibling to argue with, he argues with me. Then, because I'm part the argument, it's much harder for me to step in and be the voice of reason. I feel as though I'm playing two parts in a play, that are mutually incompatible. The solution seems to be to organise lots and lots of playdates, so I'm doing that, with gusto. Smile

Today will be a nsd.

My step brother and sil are coming round this morning haven't seen them since the summer as they live in the Lake District so that'll be nice. Dh is working.

mammymammyIRL · 19/02/2017 07:54

Today won't be the nsd planned I need to buy calpol for ds, he was an absolute crank last night before bed, threw a gigantic tantrum & woke a few times during the night too & now he's hoarse. Although there's some at my parents & they're coming for dinner here today but I think that's too long to wait really.
Wish I could add the video of his tantrum here to show the extent of it.

Creme easy comfort food definitely necessary when you're sick

ememem84 · 19/02/2017 08:13

Should be nsd today. Im determined to pay off my credit card by march payday. May be able to do it on Tuesday if I really think about it.

Didn't go riding yesterday - full weekend of rest here. So the £25 I would have spend has been sent to credit card. Balance is now £468. Will def pay another £200 on payday (Tuesday) and will see how I go from there. When dh is away I'll do another eBay selling run. So hopefully will make some cash there.

WreckTangled · 19/02/2017 08:25

Chicken kievs use by yesterday, I've just put them in the freezer...they'll be ok won't they?

mammymammyIRL · 19/02/2017 08:30

Did they smell ok wreck?
Em that'll be great not to have cc debt to worry about when dc arrives.
