Oh and your kitchen is amazing wreck Envy that is so nice!

And on the subject of friends, i have quite a few people who I would consider friends but interestingly when dd was ill there were only about 3 people who appeared out of the mist... I am lucky that my very good friends have stayed fairly local though.

Wonder if Collie is going to come back?

ememem84 · 13/01/2017 21:02

seacow fry pineapple with a little bit of salt.

ememem84 · 13/01/2017 21:30

Or pineapple and mango.

ChristmasSeacow · 13/01/2017 21:41

That's weird Wreck - your pic didn't load the first time i read your post. I was rather confused about the reference to mess! Anyway, it looks great - modern but timeless.

Also, if you have any recipes that sound appealing to non-vegans too (DH is funny about dairy substitutes) that would be great. Otherwise it will be a fruit salad!

I'm not a big sharer in RL either... I just wish the handful of people i am close to were not so far away. I know what you mean Girlie about people coming out of the mist - when DS was diagnosed a lot of people made a lot of noise about being 'there for us' but we simply never heard from them. These (soon to be moving) friends were the ones who massively stepped up. We're lucky to have them at all.

ChristmasSeacow · 13/01/2017 21:48

Fried pineapple and mango? Intriguing...

AdoraBell · 13/01/2017 21:50

Only RL friends I have live quite far away, closest is t'other side of UK and the furthest is in Chile.

Spent £36 on sunblock.

Battery is about, can't hang about. Everything crossed for the dietician appt. will catch up later. need glad the 🍷🍕 combo helped 👍

Tryingtosaveup · 13/01/2017 22:04

Wreck, your kitchen is tidy. Trust me I know about untidy kitchens. My DD has somehow missed the fact that lids can be replaced, doors re closed or papers, dishes, food put away ( bad parent). Fortunately DSiL is the same. Oh and nothing that comes out of the fridge can go back in. It has to stay, opened, lidless on the counter. DS the same.
Wreck, messy no way 😀

Tryingtosaveup · 13/01/2017 22:05

Cag, you are making such a good job of home edding and your DCs are getting such good adventures that I want you to adopt me😉

ememem84 · 13/01/2017 22:11

Yep 🍍🍍🍍

If you fry pineapple then sprinklyva teeny bit of salt on it it brings out a whole new flavour. Like fresher. If you can do caramel too then caramel pineapple is also yum. With ice cream. Vegan if course.

I find curry/spicy food needs something fruity and sweet. 🍍🍍

Cagliostro · 14/01/2017 02:19

Hi everyone. Can't sleep so caught up on thread - crikey this is going fast!

Wow, it really never ceases to amaze me how lovely and supportive this thread is. I am glad we can all share and listen to each other and I'm very grateful for the kind words. Thanks It is very humbling, this thread, and genuinely I don't know where I'd be without you all.

I was wondering about collie too - can we try the tagging thing? I can't remember the exact name.

Great to hear about the Thames barrier and other trips. This is just the kind of thing I want to do more of. We do lots of museum things which are fab of course but I want to make sure we can do 'real' stuff as well iyswim? I must dig out my email convo with the county recycling centre and contact them now DS has reached the minimum age of 7.

Yes seacow we are doing Japanese! Well attempting anyway. Mostly focusing on the hiragana first but DD is itching to do proper conversation etc so the dictionary would be very much appreciated please, if you're sure that's ok! Thanks I have PayPal for postage costs etc.

I can finally feel sleep beckoning so may actually drop off soon! NSD for me anyway, DH took the Caglets ice skating for their friend's birthday and to McDonald's after. I was supposed to go but thought it better to rest and save the money.

WreckTangled · 14/01/2017 06:05

For seacow

Need to go food shopping today. Needs to be a cheap one but I bet it won't. Also need to buy a broom.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/01/2017 07:02

Food shopping today too.
Had name down for ot but really fed up with work so took it back off.

CathodeRayTube · 14/01/2017 07:21

Wildernesstips Those courses look fantastic. Thanks for mentioning. :-)

No diagnosis need. As I think I mentioned, getting a diagnosis is tricky, for all sorts of reasons. The dietitian is a step in that direction, which is why I'm going.

Ah thanks Wreck. I never thought of a crumble but I see they are quite easy to adapt. I was thinking of fruit salad and meringues... DH likes both so I will give him the casting vote between the winter crumble and meringues.

Cag happy to send the dictionary if you pm your address. Don't worry about postage, I doubt it will be much. It's only a little dictionary!

Have moved to the spare room for he last couple of nights due to DH's snoring. Have slept much better but feels funny - I already feel a bit distant from DH!

ChristmasSeacow · 14/01/2017 07:51

Should have said Cag I most likely won't get to the PO till Wednesday as DS doesn't do queues! So no rush.

ememem84 · 14/01/2017 08:27

seacow a pav!!! Do a pavlova!! My ultimate favourite pudding.

Riding today £25. Still no snow. Blue skies here.

Veggie curry for dinner.

allthebestplease · 14/01/2017 08:34

Lovely kitchen and big, it looks tidy too.
Great dress, very sexy.

Weather looks clear today which is a relief. We have no money left in acct as dh had to pay a £100 parking fine, so ay into the overdraft for us this month. Or I can use the emergency fund.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 14/01/2017 08:34

Won't be NSD today as need to get fresh food in -still have a lot of stuff in freezer so it won't be too bad.
Had a very productive conversation with DH about the baby issue last night, triggered because apparently I came back from a work do (black tie thing so allowed myself to have a drink or three) and told him as I fell asleep I wanted us to have a baby Blush
He was less hostile about it than I expected and has agreed to think about it during this year as we save and try to buy a house, so I guess we will revisit the topic once we have done that which is unlikely to be before summer at very earliest and probably more like autumn/winter. Still, feeling more positive. I showed him the case studies of how many adopted children have foetal alcohol syndrome etc which I think made him feel a bit different about his concerns re inherited addiction/issues as that is not at all unlikely if we were to adopt.

Needastrongone · 14/01/2017 08:51

It's my fault Cath, I misinterpreted your post to Christmas, sorry. In any event, I am crossing proverbial fingers for today. Good luck.

I was just about the suggest Pavlova. I'm wondering if me and Em are the same person?!!!

Life, work is pretty darn shite for you at present isn't it? Don't blame you for not wanting to be there any more time than you have to. Brew

Spends today.
£4 DS karate last night.
£40 DS driving lesson.

ChristmasSeacow · 14/01/2017 08:55

Oh Peonies I am so glad he was open to thinking about it a bit more, at least. The other option open yo you, I guess, is for you to have a child with donor sperm. If you can't talk DH round that might be worth considering.

Em, I'd love to make a pavlova but they're not dairy free! I might do the component parts though and then people can assemble what they want and SIL can avoid the cream. Mmmm, hazelnut meringue...

ememem84 · 14/01/2017 09:00

Aaahhh yes the vegan thing.....

Haha need maybe we are!

ChristmasSeacow · 14/01/2017 09:03

Life are you in healthcare or did I imagine that? Lots of people in the NHS are pretty burned out, in my experience Flowers

WreckTangled · 14/01/2017 10:13

My cheap shop was £75. The dc were being annoying and I lost my shit.

£4.50 in wilkos on a travel flask and a broom.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/01/2017 10:27

There is a pavolova in sainsburys mag which I guess will be on the website made with chickpea juice. Remind me to photo it when I get home.

Thanks need, yes it is. Went to body attack so feel much better, the new release is brutal thought. Have to get my fitness back up

Christmas no I'm not health care but I am public sector. Can't say much more as it's a niche role and would out me.
