I use Aldi Brighter, I use less than they advise too. It's not tested on animals which is my major bugbear with aerial et al.

SnugglySnerd · 12/01/2017 18:45

Great news about Teddy, Adora and about your cousin too, Creme.

Needastrongone · 12/01/2017 18:50

I buy whatever is on offer Brighter. Aldi I find are brilliant for all things domestic and cleaning etc. Quality and price.

Thanks wrecked, I will.

There's a touch of that Cath, for sure. DF was around when we were growing up. I remember him being really loving and positive and telling me me how brilliant I was etc. I don't ever remember DM ever, not once, saying anything positive, and definitely I was mistake but I don't recall being unhappy. Can you imagine not saying anything positive to your DS, it's hard to figure isn't it? Never sat on her knee or was cuddled but definitely from DF. Then he left, and you are right, the anger and bitterness took over.

I still have a wonderful relationship with DF and she hates that, said I betrayed her, as he betrayed her. He's my Dad!!

I'll take this to the other thread now. No more ME, ME ME and more frugal stuff.

ememem84 · 12/01/2017 19:01

neeeedddd why. Why did you mention hush...

ememem84 · 12/01/2017 19:08

mammy nice one!

Vegan (accidentally bought vegan cheese) courgette "meatballs" done. They're super tasty.

ememem84 · 12/01/2017 19:15

£23 hush skirt. #easilyconvinced #spendywhenfeelingemotional #mustlookhotforholidays

ememem84 · 12/01/2017 19:32

Tryingtosaveup · 12/01/2017 19:53

Em, send the pics to your vegan cousin. She'll think she's converted you.
Thanks for the article about the giant cabbages. I am going to look for some seeds.
Ah, Cath, I love that you are missing the noise.
Adora, glad Teddies getting better and that he didn't lose a leg.
Cag, there seems no end to your difficulties. You are amazing to rise above it all and to be such a great mum to your DCs. I am sure they appreciate you and love you to bits.
Need, love your notice. It says more about you than you DM says.
Spendy. £44 on club membership, and £thousands to builders. 😂😂. But it will be worth it.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2017 19:59

Oooh hush skirt.
Need tis fine, keep on if you want on here.

£25 cleaner.
Missed fitness due to work. Boo.
I don't rate aldi washing powder. It doesn't work on sweat smells imo. Ariel for me, sorry.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2017 20:00

Ouch some big bills coming in.
Gws frugaleers.

SnugglySnerd · 12/01/2017 20:04

Thanks, Em!

ememem84 · 12/01/2017 20:05

trying have already instagrammed them Grin

They were super tasty.

I've spent about £100 in the last 24 hours on stuff for me. After my emotional breakdown re nz earlier this week I've decided to be the better bestest person and be the best Ems I can be. So when I feel better I'm going to get back to the gym and start working on my tan.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2017 20:31

#sheep
Blue hush skirt bought. Got a small, hope it fits as I'm a size 10

Em, possibly the best way to piss mil is to be as fabulous as we know you are. While not being alone with her. Be her frenemy. (Friendly enemy)

ememem84 · 12/01/2017 20:40

life I bought a small too. Also a 10. I'm pretty sure my other skirt is a small.

I'm determined to make everyone talk about me for the right reasons. This (in my experience) annoys her the most. Grin

Dh is going to help me. He's going to deal with healthy food. I've explained all my period issues to him and he's taken control of my diet. He loves to cook and eat healthy so I'm ok there. He's devised me a gym plan ex personal trainer and I just have to be fabulous. 6 weeks to fab.

Needastrongone · 12/01/2017 21:11

Grin at the Hush skirt love. Small will be fine. The 'stretchiness', or elastic is so strong and thick, can't really describe what I mean but they are flattering. So flattering.

I did Boxercise, so £5 and made Jamie Oliver chicken jalfrezi in the SC, super healthy and really delicious. 3 chicken breasts between 4 adults was easily plenty, there's some left too.

Sounds like a plan Em, a very good plan.

Needastrongone · 12/01/2017 21:14

I get an XS in the skirt and I'm a 6 btw.

This is the dress I bought from Coast, I've one other I'm undecided on, I need DD to tell me yes or no...

CremeEggThief · 12/01/2017 21:28

Beautiful, Need. Is it for a wedding?

Needastrongone · 12/01/2017 21:48

Thank you, Creme, 3 weddings over the summer. Differing sets of folk though, so I don't think £49 over 3 weddings is too bad for an outfit. I will need a shawl and shoes though, weddings cost so much. We haven't been to one for a decade though I guess.......

ememem84 · 12/01/2017 21:51

need guess what dress I bought......!!

ememem84 · 12/01/2017 21:52

We've got two to go to this year so far so I'm doing the same. Different crowd at both. So can wear the same dress.

Taytocrisps · 12/01/2017 22:31

Brrr....it's cold. I'm lying in bed and my feet are like blocks of ice. We had a tiny bit of snow earlier. Just hoping it doesn't freeze tonight or the roads will be lethal in the morning.

€85.96 on a Tesco shop and €7 delivery charge.

Beautiful dress Need. I went to a wedding once and discovered that the bride's cousin was wearing the same dress as me Blush. It was a bit embarrassing. We kept trying to avoid each other at the bar Smile.

Cagliostro · 12/01/2017 22:54

Not caught up with the thread as only just got the Caglets sorted with a bath etc. We had a fun evening impulsively going to the park in the snow :o I was teaching a couple of my pupils when it started, and the mum suggested it. There's a skate ramp which with the addition of a sledge made for a fun evening. And then we warmed up at their house for a bit before she drove us home. Froze my butt off but worth it for the kicks. And I discovered that the £2.50 backpacks from Decathlon were pretty reasonably water resistant. Loooong day though - no point coming home between gym and St John so it meant hanging out in town. And I didn't get up early enough to pack a lunch so just grabbed what I could.

Anyway, super uber mega spendy couple of days, here's my confession!

Jan 11
£5.60 bus
£3 shop
£30 takeaway (needless to say after being all pathetic and wobbly all resolve and energy for cooking went right out the window)
£14 booked a home ed group trip to the Thames Barrier in March :) should be fun, they talk about the environment/nature as well as the science side

Jan 12
£9 family bus pass
£1 vikings poster (will go on home ed budget)
£57 library fines Blush Blush totally my own fault for not dealing with it sooner, live and learn. I won't be going back for a while anyway, so just wanted to get it done.
£1.75 tiny bottle of OJ! FFS. But it was that (needed to make change as owed friend some cash) or get a hot chocolate at that cafe (in liesure centre where DD does gym) and I REFUSE to pay £3 for a hot chocolate made with water instead of milk
£4 greggs
£5 hot chocolates to warm up
£52ish tesco delivery
40p Caglets' tuck money
And the big one... £304 bus passes! Shock But as of tomorrow when we activate them we basically won't need to pay for bus travel at all for 13 weeks unless we go out of town. :) :) :)
And I made £20 for an easy hour teaching two delightful girls which always makes my day. :)

Tryingtosaveup · 12/01/2017 23:39

Wow, Cag, that trip to the Thames Barrier sounds good fun. You'll have to tell me about it when you've been.
I think it was you Cag who recommended the National Geographic magazine for kids. I got the free copy for DGD and she loves it. Just ordered it for a year for £36 and it comes with 3 small free gifts. DD says she has them harassed about it she likes it so much.
Creme, sorry didn't mention your cousin. Glad she is getting better.
Love that dress Need and Em and I think at that price it's a bargain.
Need did you say you are size 6?
