Will this be a 3 thread month?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/01/2017 12:27

Stumbly thats a really good idea re the swaps!

Thought that was you Blue Smile

Wreck not sure how i missed that but I am properly jealous!! Will be amazing for you all.

Dd and I have been for a run, reckon about 3 miles ish which is pretty good considering we haven't been for ages, also discovered we live about 10 mins for a beautiful canal walk!! Not sure how have only just realised this Grin but planning lots of nice picnics and bike rides already!

CathodeRayTube · 08/01/2017 13:12

Oooo! Stumbly that reminds me - I got an amazon voucher for Christmas. I just put it on the account so it might get spent on house stuff if I don't do something with it.

Your swap night sounds great. It will make a lot of space in the houses apart from anything else.

ememem84 · 08/01/2017 13:15

wreck I bet we bump into each other without even knowing it!! Haha! Where abouts will you be promise I won't stalk you

ememem84 · 08/01/2017 13:17

Nsd today. Have been to see fil to swap Christmas pressies.

And have come home hoovered floors washing on and am tempted to head back to bed. The cold has come back and I am a right snot bucket. May snuggle up with a book and a chocolate orange. Smile

For now though chorizo potato and red pepper soup and a Diet Coke and buckets of water to flush out the snots. Eugh.

WreckTangled · 08/01/2017 13:18

We're not going until the fourth of April. Will be in the bay of plenty Smile

Dh has taken dd to spend her Christmas money and I said if he wants to treat me I need some new knickers. I'll let you know what I end up with Grin

FoolandFitz · 08/01/2017 13:57

Spent £34.32 for food today but since it comes out of the joint a/c, it does not count.

ememem84 · 08/01/2017 14:00

Aw no stalking then. I'll be home by then.

Bay of plenty, so waihi katikati tauranga coromandel hot water beach whakatane area? (I get confused between bay of plenty and bay of islands).

We're starting in auckland, heading to Hamilton then to Taupo then to queens town and back up north to visit rellies in waihi/waihi beach before heading home. We think. Nothing other than flights booked though. We'll book at the beginning of Feb once we've got everyone's schedules.

I remember you being excited about those flights. Good job! We paid that for the two of us.... Sad

Cagliostro · 08/01/2017 14:04

I am a snot bucket too em

WreckTangled · 08/01/2017 14:22

That's still good em Smile yes exactly whakatane is where PIL's live.

Taytocrisps · 08/01/2017 14:49

Top up shop €26.92

DD's back to school tomorrow so I had to stock up on packed lunch ingredients.

Sellotape 85c

Taytocrisps · 08/01/2017 15:01

I meant to say the €26.92 includes €5 for a water bottle for DD for school as her last one broke.

CremeEggThief · 08/01/2017 15:06

NSD.
Carried on with deep cleaning my kitchen. All done, apart from oven (and freezer, but I'll have to run that down first). And relax...

Not at all envious of Wreck and Em. Oh no, not me!Wink

CremeEggThief · 08/01/2017 15:06

Welcome back Blue.SmileBrew

Needastrongone · 08/01/2017 15:20

Cheers Life. Okay here, just a general crap day yesterday, nothing more or less than that. How did the interview with the cleaner go? It will make a huge difference if you do manage to get one, I promise.

NZ sounds wonderful. DF toured it in a camper van in his 70's for a month, said it was amazing.

Well done on the kitchen blitz Creme, THE worst room to blitz for sure.

Welcome back Blue.

Well done on the run Girlie, that's great for the first run back in ages. Were the trainers okay?

Super idea re swaps Stumbly.

Did a 10 miles trail race this morning. Very muddy and hilly and exactly how I like it Smile. Picked a pace I felt fine with and able to control and trundled along. Ended up first woman home for our club and 7th in my age category of 76, for a sub-maximal effort. I'm no where near fit, so chuffed with that effort. I love running. There's folk that are close to elite, and folk that are just looking to complete the distance as best they can or for the first time very slowly, these get the biggest cheers. Such an inclusive sport.

Beef and all the trimmings for dinner.

Two discoveries
1)thrifty Lesley.com
2)I live near a heron foods

I acquired large Covent garden soup carton 49p,6pk muller yogurts 69p,cathedral city cheese 1.69(same product in co op on offer at 2.25),1.2kg frozen green beans 99p.1kg tilda rice 99p
Happy days
As for thrifty Lesley I pinch a tomato scone recipe that uses just oil, water,St flour and tomato puree(you can add herbs, cheese etc if want)they were surprisingly good.dd2 had them for lunch with last cream cheese with herbs in from fridge and a roasted carrot soup and was very impressed.has menu plans and feed for £1 a day ideas that are nutritionally balanced.will def be pop back in there n swipe more ideas!!

CathodeRayTube · 08/01/2017 16:02

We'e started farming in the garden today, super optimism weatherwise there. We planted lots of quick-growing things in the ground in the greenhouse. I figure we will either get food or murphy's law will bring us the mother of all winter weather, and either will be entertaining.

wreck if you can, and if you haven't already, take the kids to White Island volcano. Dh and I went the last time we were there. It was spendy. But totally worth it. Got to wear cute hard hats and gas masks. #volcanoexplorerchic

Springing into the New Year with the 2017 Frugaleers
WreckTangled · 08/01/2017 16:14

I'm sure we will. I've been twice before but dh hasn't.

Dh is back from shopping and didn't buy me any knickers. He's so shit sometimes. He also got the dc a fucking drum kit. Wtf. As if the recorder and ukulele weren't enough!

Wildernesstips · 08/01/2017 16:17

Girlie and Need well done on your runs.

£5 getting some bits I couldn't get in Lidl yesterday. Really wanted to buy the Country Walking magazine so I could track my progress towards #1000miles but then I thought I would save the money and devise my own spreadsheet instead.

Cathode I grew some veg outside last year. I have a 1m sq raised bed. It's amazing how much you can squeeze in. Radishes grew really well from seed.

Have also been doing free exercise - with the NHS Pilates video. Never done it before this week, but I was quite impressed.

Wildernesstips · 08/01/2017 16:18

Oh no Wreck, maybe invest in some ear plugs? NZ sounds very exciting.

Brightermornings · 08/01/2017 16:24

Thanks everyone for your hellos! Ended up spending a bit more than expected last night only £10 but a bit frustrating. Today I've spent £3.00 dd's football subs. Been sorting through my christmas presents lots of smellies so won't need to buy any shower gel for a while 😀😀.
Don't know if anyone else does but I do a posting survey for Royal Mail. You get paid in stamps. Every month I'm participating I get a book of 12 first class and a book of 4 large stamps. I am the stamp supplier at work and I tend to sell the large ones on eBay won't make me a fortune but every little bit helps!! Do a lot of you sell on eBay? I wonder if it's worth it these days.

CathodeRayTube · 08/01/2017 16:36

That posting survey sounds fun. Do you have to post parcels often or is it mostly just letters? I can get to a letterbox easily, but getting to the post office is a major expedition. I filled in the application form anyway.

ememem84 · 08/01/2017 16:40

brighter I sell a lot on eBay. Averaged about £400 last year. But it really depends on what you sell.

CathodeRayTube · 08/01/2017 16:48

Cag did you see there's some kind of epic tube strike going on from now until tomorrow evening? Sounds best avoided.
