Argh had to phone sky again because they still didn't refund my money! Is it worth complaining fluffy? Went like this:

I phoned to cancel
It was cancelled so they took the next months payment
I phoned to cancel, they cancelled and said they would refund part of the payment
Didn't hear anything so I emailed and they said I would get it on the 28th as that's when the bills get sorted
Didn't get it
Emailed and told I had to phone them
Phoned them and they did the refund

Ffs such a waste of my time and money!

SnugglySnerd · 09/12/2016 17:21

Happy weekend all! Thanks for new thread. NSD but might get takeaway.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/12/2016 17:21

It's worth a shot. It's always worth a try. I'd have complained at stage two, we've all got more interesting things to do than ring sky.

ememem84 · 09/12/2016 17:25

cath thanks for the new thread.

cag I'd pay enough to clear overdraft and then keep the rest to one side.

Worst afternoon ever. Busy. No one in the office to authorise anything. Clients demanding stuff be done now...aaah!! TGIF.

We are going for Chinese food tonight.

I've just had a totally stupid moment dare I say "blonde" moment??! I drove the car in today. This much I knew. I parked car in the car park and walked from there to work. I leave work And go to the car park. The same one i always park in. I can't find car. I stand on floor 8. And call dh. And ask him where the car was. He confirms 8. I confirm car isn't there. We go back and forth before he says "are you in the right car park?" Then it dawns on me. I parked in the other one today. Bollocks.

Have just had to walk down 8 flights of stairs all the way across town and up 8 more flights. Idiot. GrinGrin

Cagliostro · 09/12/2016 18:05

Oops em sounds like something I'd do 😳😂

So I'm on my way home with the Caglets, I'd taken them out while the landlord was due round to leave DH to deal with it - turns out there was no need, they had a quick look at the place and said they will fix the things we'd asked them to, that was it.

Turned out the bank was already shut so we just got movie night popcorn etc, cleaning stuff we are out of and a nice frame for the print mum got us at an exhibition. My money can reside in a lovely trinket box a friend gave me for my birthday. Going with the majority next week - will pay in the £400 but will leave the big cheque for now.

CathodeRayTube · 09/12/2016 18:20

That's great that they're looking at your situation Cag. Well done there.

Would you all mind crossing your fingers for me? I've come down with a bug and ds has a speaking part in his nativity play on Sunday. I'm past the infectious stage but would so much like to be there to see him if I could get better enough. Any health-giving vibes that can be sent would be much appreciated. Smile

Not an NSD but I've finished the Christmas shopping, so that's good.

WreckTangled · 09/12/2016 18:55

I've emailed the ceo doubt I'll get a response...

Dead mouse under the table Xmas Hmm

WreckTangled · 09/12/2016 20:01

Cag channel 5 is showing a program on arundel castle Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/12/2016 21:06

Thanks for the new thread.
Good luck with the council. I agree stash the cash with some one else until they stop reviewing you.
I got a S&G gift set, also spent £5 in asda and that's it. Retail park was packed.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/12/2016 21:25

Oh GnR there was much excitement about that at work this week. I'm not going but wish I was.

mammymammyIRL · 09/12/2016 21:56

Well we're not going to wedding cos dh is getting up for 3.30 & is in a strop over being up with ds last night Angry I spent €60 at hairdressers & €47 at beauticians today , would have been doing hair & eyebrows anyhow but probably wouldn't have waxed underarms & gotten nails done Sad oh well money saved on drinks I guess Smile I wasn't bothered about going.
Can return dresses etc to Littlewoods tomo too I guess.

Interesting today collected a prescription for dh & chemist told me 6 months would work out better than monthly €35.99 vs €65!!!

Interesting to hear about acupuncture helping with hormone issues. I'm being sent for dexa scan I think it's callled for bone density.
Bertie sending you baby dust as they say Flowers

Spends €6.50 on a west coast cooler for me & hot choc for dd, also €4 on our deli counter lunch was lovely girly afternoon Smile

Cag lovely to get gifts & definitely don't pay them into your account, hopefully things will fall into place for ye now

Em definitely a face palm moment there

Wreck I haven't gotten sky refund yet either must chase it up Xmas Hmm

Found out I don't have to work tomo( it wasn't clear when I left on a half day if I would need to or not) but ds's swimming lesson & ladybirds outing are clashing a bit so I'll need to drive her into town so will take advantage of that & get some Christmas shopping done.
Bringing our couch cushions to be reupholstered in time for Christmas, picking out fabric tomo very excited Xmas Grin

allthebestplease · 09/12/2016 22:54

Thanks for new thread.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/12/2016 06:52

I'm getting fruflu.

Food shopping today. Need to get the parcels out and see what's what for a fortnight's time

mammymammyIRL · 10/12/2016 07:23

Plenty vit c lifelong
Must do food shopping also today

WreckTangled · 10/12/2016 07:43

Mammy that's annoying Xmas Angry

Food shopping here too hopefully a cheap one. It's very dark this morning. I wanted to leave fifteen minutes ago but ds is being a dick trying.

Needastrongone · 10/12/2016 07:52

Bugger about the wedding Mammy but you will feel lovely and glam now at least.

Stay warm and relax Life.

£45 on meal a drinks last night.

Xmas do tonight, meal already paid for though so just drinks.

CathodeRayTube · 10/12/2016 08:05

Gosh mammy what a lot of things all at once. The prescription saving sounds great. What does Baby Dust do for the recipient? My Inlaws are Irish, so any cultural stuff you can pass on to me really helps. I had a dexa scan last week and it was really really fine. You just lie on a bit flat hard bed and a scanner arm passes over the top like being scanned on a flatbed scanner, but without the bright light.

I'm a self-fixing mission today. Ds is helping by watching telly and giving me a running commentary.

Does anybody else read the People's Friend magazine? I find it fantastically soothing on the soul and it's only £1.20. It's currently my no.1 method of cheap relaxation.

Needastrongone · 10/12/2016 08:27

£6.30 on Well Woman Sport and Fitness Multi Vit tablets. I'm sceptical of too many supplements, rather go with a healthy and balanced diet but an insurance policy doesn't harm, I'm using a lot of energy fitness wise. Always took iron when running previously.

I am have a confession. We in the Need household are going off Aldi food.... Apart from the odd gem of course. The DC are by no means picky, and we are lucky enough to have no food issues to deal with here, but the list of stuff that tastes, well, just not as good is getting longer.

I'm not talking about comparing everything to M&S, 'cos their stuff is fab but Ocado/Morrisons own brand stuff and some branded stuff to be fair just tastes better.

Then you get box of clementines that are just delicious, so I'll go in!

Needastrongone · 10/12/2016 08:28

I get time to read MN Cath, but that's it I'm afraid. Going out for a run would be the thing that soothes my soul the most though.

mammymammyIRL · 10/12/2016 08:36

I've just been researching what doctor said about the d&c maybe being the cause of my lack of periods & there's a syndrome called ashermans syndrome. Most of the cases are women who wanted it fixed to conceive again. Hmm will see what happens.

Baby dust is wishes to help a person conceive possibly American rather than Irish crt

Dd & ds have been clamouring on me for an hour now! Think we had better get up, make breakfast & get going for the day.

Sorting out my cash bills in my head & on ynab at the moment. And I've just enough cash out so I'm pleased with that.

mammymammyIRL · 10/12/2016 08:38

So if I buy a cinema gift card online I pay €2.50 postage but get a free adult pass worth up to €7.50, I think if I buy at cinema this offer won't apply. Hmm should I go for it?

Did I tell ye I won 4 tickets to a special screening of home alone for Wed night?!! I was on the radio Blush

mammymammyIRL · 10/12/2016 08:43

Got my haven refund Smile

mammymammyIRL · 10/12/2016 08:44

And lodged cheque from home insurance refund is showing up in account now. Had forgotten to lodge it so many times I just paid 68c to post it in during the week, live 30mins drive from bank

ememem84 · 10/12/2016 09:01

Checked bank ac this morning £35 overdrawn Confused transferred money to cover it.

I forgot about some things coming out. Oops.
