Hi All,
Taking the liberty of starting a new thread, as I went to post spends on the old one and it's full.

We had a lovely day out at the seaside and visited an old lighthouse as part of it. As we rely on public transport, that's always a big part of our days out spend.
£9.60 bus fares.
£9.60 train fares (with the family railcard).
£6 lunch from Sainsburys ( £3 meal deal each).
£4.50 entrance to the lighthouse.
£7.10 coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in a café afterwards.

Oh and DS needed a haircut, which I think was £6.50.

See when I've planned out my expenditure I budget for things like ds activities but end up writing them on here ha ha

Cagliostro · 02/04/2016 08:35

Yesterday:

£2 DCs' pocket money
£13.50 The Works (4 things, some are out of my pocket money)
£9.09 various food things, including some supplies for DH - today he is doing a run for charity. A 12 hour run. Running. For 12 hours, with only bathroom/food breaks. Nutter :)

Ipsos · 02/04/2016 09:02

Thanks need. That's useful perspective. I'll try hard to think what it is that I actually think. It's one of the harder things, that.

Thanks for the encouragement em.

Unescorted · 02/04/2016 09:04

Morning Grin

I have made it through year end so I can relax (a little bit) and return here. Luckily dh realised I must have been on my way home when he got a v. incoherant call at 11 last night after our traditional year end celebration. He was at the station waiting to put me in the car home.

Ipsos no advice but a hug.
cag it took a while to work out who you were... hope you hear news on the job front soon
Laska did you get your postage paid for your fabric?

Pan haggerty is going on my dinner list.

I am getting cross on another thread - the self build one. The very how dare they advice people are giving is way off...... must bite tongue (or keyboard equivilent)

needastrongone · 02/04/2016 09:09

I know it is, it's the very hardest thing ipsos, I sometimes think we tie ourselves up in knots and think and think until we don't know what to think. Kids are some much easier at just 'being' I find, if we let themThanksBrewSmile

Cagliostro · 02/04/2016 09:10

Ohhh also forgot I have now had confirmation that I am being paid all my annual leave from last year. Not losing any :) so that's the equivalent of a fortnight's pay for me :)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/04/2016 10:51

Thats good Cag Smile

I have had a lovely lie in this morning, woke up at 7.30am checked dd was happy in front of a film and then went back to bed and woke up at 10am!! Must have needed it I guess Grin

Plan today is to go into town, there is a free fun day going on so will check that out. Will take some food and drink with us but am expecting a few small spends...

babsmam · 02/04/2016 10:51

That's good news cag.

Wolfcub · 02/04/2016 10:55

cag great news on the annual leave

Boden knocked an extra 20% off the dress I was coveting last night so I ordered it, just hope it fits now as they didn't have the longer length left

Ipsos · 02/04/2016 11:47

Thanks need and unescorted. I think my ds will struggle with just "being" until he gets into some kind of senior management position.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2016 11:48

Bees Good for you. I hope the new job is better.

Ipsos. Poor boy, he must've been scared of it all.

Cag Excellent news. Your dh is quite mad Grin

Wolf. I'm trying to ignore the boden sale. Not working so far though. There's a top on there that would really suit me too.

Yesterday was £10 fish and chips and £2.50 pasta sauce and teabags.

CremeEggThief · 02/04/2016 12:05

Sorry to hear that, Ipsos. Give him a hug from me.

Badders123 · 02/04/2016 12:45

Bit spendy today!
Had to get some face cream (just a cheap body shop one) and some San pro (I have to buy non plastic as I'm sensitive to latex so it costs more than usual :()
I did send some books back (book people service has really gone downhill) but I forgot I pre ordered ds1 the new Star Wars did Smile
Am assuming I will need thrush stuff too when I finish these abx
Grr
Dc need their hair cutting and I need to check their feet haven't grown too so thats Mondays job!

Sparklycat · 02/04/2016 12:50

A no spend day for me spent cleaning the conservatory inside and out. DH has gone to the football and then the pub though..

WreckTangled · 02/04/2016 13:37

Great news Cag!

Ipsos your poor ds it all sounds very stressful.

Girlie great lie in!

I lied when I said j was never drinking again Blush I'm sitting in the sun on a rooftop bar. Halo

Ipsos · 02/04/2016 13:48

Thanks for the kind thoughts. I will tell ds what you all said. He really enjoys the frugaleers' encouraging words.

Ememem84 · 02/04/2016 14:10

wreck sounds great.

cag yay! Great news re holiday pay!

Been out in the sun for my riding lesson. So lovely today. Rode a different pony today. And we jumped. I've never jumped her before and my instructor was cautious because she has a huge jump. I gave it a go and she does indeed have a mahoooosive jump. Was a bit scary. Smile

Plumber came round this morni so Dh and I are off to bathroom places this afternoon to find new bath, toilet, and sink. Plumber has said what we want to do it doable.

Petrol for the car £31.14

Wolfcub · 02/04/2016 15:09

Exchanged some nectar points for a £20 double up voucher and bought ds new pjs, tops and school shorts as he's growing at an appalling.rate. age 9 and needing the length of 11 -13 at feasting its difficult to find the balance between length and width as he's thin as a twig

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/04/2016 16:00

Wolf I have the same problem with dd, she is 10yo but finding trousers that are long enough for her ridiculously long legs but still fit her small waist is pretty much impossible Grin plus she very fussy about textures so

Have had a lovely day enjoying the sun, the fun day was great and was so nice to see dd enjoying herself. Think have probably spent a fortune though!

£3.75 lunch in Greggs.
£10 at least on rides.
£3 ice creams.
£7.90 on a new purse - old one was falling to bits and this one looks lovely.
£5 on 'stuff' tombola, hook a duck etc.

Ah well, will aim for a few NSD to even it out and we cycled in so saved a fair bit on parking.

babsmam · 02/04/2016 16:25

Went to nt and spent £7 on ice cream. Dodged the Swedish playground but will need to go in a few weeks.
Of to aldi in a bit for Lego land snacks

babsmam · 02/04/2016 16:26

No bleeding sun here. NT in the rain

CremeEggThief · 02/04/2016 17:48

I had lunch in Costa with my friend. We spent nearly 3 hours in there, so bet the staff couldn't wait to see us go! We were well overdue a catch up though.
Spends: £6.50 bus fare, about £10 in Costa ( panini, muffin and 2 lattes) and £2.30 on 2 vegan sausage rolls, from a naice stall at Durham market.

lilacclery · 02/04/2016 18:47

Sounds like a lovely day creme

Pointlessfan · 02/04/2016 18:55

Back from holidays! It's been a bit spendy on treats (cream teas and ice creams mainly) but we didn't spend much on days out, we did mostly free stuff like the beach etc so it could have been worse.
Just doing a healthy meal plan and shopping list and will go to the supermarket tomorrow then I need to have a cheap week!
Will catch up on the thread later.
