Hi All,
Taking the liberty of starting a new thread, as I went to post spends on the old one and it's full.

We had a lovely day out at the seaside and visited an old lighthouse as part of it. As we rely on public transport, that's always a big part of our days out spend.
£9.60 bus fares.
£9.60 train fares (with the family railcard).
£6 lunch from Sainsburys ( £3 meal deal each).
£4.50 entrance to the lighthouse.
£7.10 coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in a café afterwards.

Oh and DS needed a haircut, which I think was £6.50.

book 1

book 2

book 3

These are the books I got her, hoping they are not too American!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/04/2016 15:38

Oh sorry link 2 isn't working Blush

Try again.... book2

WreckTangled · 11/04/2016 15:40

Dd has asked how babies come out and I told her. I dodged the 'how do they get in there?' question though Blush she's only five!

Cagliostro · 11/04/2016 15:41

link 3 is the book I've got - it was on the book people at £3 :)

babsmam · 11/04/2016 16:03

Some one in RL recommended book 3

needastrongone · 11/04/2016 16:19

Cag I'm late to the party but I am sorry you've had such an unprofessional experience. I echo what babs sensibly said, write as much as you can remember down, even if it is never used. Glad you feel a touch better.

£12.50 spare set of contact lenses. When my eye test is done test month, I'm going to buy online cheaper.

lilacclery · 11/04/2016 16:54

Will catch up now, have been away from ye since Fri eve.

Sat was very very spendy, had a great night out.
Today I purchased a book for my df for his birthday, I utilised points to get me 45c off, cashback ireland for 5% cashback, ordered another 2 books for dd's birthday to bring my total over €30 to get 15% off using my powering rewards discount. so €30.68 cost me €25.29 and I'll get €1.51 cashback too.

Today I will spend €20 on counselling and that's it

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 11/04/2016 17:02

I feel shocking today. Definitely sure I'm coming down with something.

I fell asleep last night at about half 9 and woke at half 5 for work. I worked four hours came home and fell asleep for 3 1/2 hours and I still feel really drained. My nose has become blocked and my throat is starting to feel scratchy.

Grr. I always end up on antibiotics when I'm poorly as it seems to hit me hard. There's tonsillitis going round at work. Was hoping I missed it.

Cagliostro · 11/04/2016 17:28

Best of luck at counselling Lilac it's great that you're keeping on with it.

Sending non-germy vibes to Dont! I really can't recommend Corsodyl enough - I get the proper strong stuff (not the daily rinse one) and gargle it slightly diluted for a few days when I get a sore or itchy throat. Won't cure all obviously but it's massively reduced the symptoms for me, and I haven't had tonsillitis at all since I started doing it.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/04/2016 17:42

Dont hope you feel better soon Flowers

I've just got back from looking round my soon to be new house Smile all looks good except my dishwasher def won't fit will have to sell it I think, a slimline one would fit with a bit of re-jigging. Estate agent told me I would prob only get a weeks notice of moving in Shock Should i actually start packing??

How do I find out how much my oven and dw are worth? Will have a look on eBay, Fluffy the oven is like the one you described gas hobs and electric oven Confused will also need to get a microwave I think.

Cagliostro · 11/04/2016 17:51

Eeeek Girlie that is so exciting! Bummer about the dishwasher. I would reeeeally love one, but similarly there is no room (well, we'd make room somehow - for example did you know there are widgets that mean you can safely stack washing machines and tumbledryers? Maybe that'd be worth looking into for you) and nowhere to plumb it in.

Whataboutwhathuh · 11/04/2016 17:56

£351 on a term of pre school. It was £100 less than I thought so that's good. Going to have to be very careful to the end of the month. DH is on a stag weekend and then we are away with family the following weekend and away the following weekend with the other side. The first weekend we will have a lot of fuel to pay for and £91 on a ferry crossing. Quite shocked at the ferry cost.

PurpleRibbons · 11/04/2016 17:57

Cag you poor thing, that's horrible. Is there anyone you can complain to? Definitely write it all down.
Just saw about your accident lucsy ouch! That sounds hideously painful, hope you get it treated and it heals quickly.
Another NSD here, 2 in a row that's the first time that's happened in a while. Just making bubble & squeak with last night's leftovers.

needastrongone · 11/04/2016 17:59

Hope you feel better soon Don't.

Girlie Exciting!! How about packing stuff that you know you won't need until you move? I think I did bookcases of books, things from the loft, clothes from the wrong season etc.

I've done a rough menu plan for a few days. DH is away for the week, so that changes things around a bit.

Today - moroccan pork, jacket spuds and broccoli.
Tuesday - Gammon, potato wedges, egg.
Wed - Bacon, cauliflower cheese pasta bake.
Thursday - Malay Chicken.
Friday - Sausage tray bake.
Saturday - Chermoula salmon and veggies.
Sunday - Roast chicken dinner.
Monday - veggie option - curry, chilli, etc.

In addition
Lentil bolognaise.
SC beef , Nigel Slater.
Beef barley broth.
Lamb tagine.
Mackerel Kedgeree.

Creme For you, today I counted - 4 phone chargers left on, a kindle charger, a laptop, a printer, TV on standby. Lights in bathroom and bedrooms and living room. All DC Grin

SpaceKablooie · 11/04/2016 18:08

At work all day = NSD Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2016 18:11

Girlie Nooooo, you can't be without a dw.

Take a cupboard out nearish the sink. You can buy extra long hoses to reach the water supply & waste trap.

Have you got a photo of th kitchen layout?. How wide are the base units.

Dont Poor you. Let's hope it's not tonsillitis.

babsmam · 11/04/2016 18:14

Girlie, start packing. It takes longer than you think.
Gws don't

Taytocrisps · 11/04/2016 18:19

It's a miserable Monday here. It's raining cats and dogs and I spilt a bowl full of beans all over the kitchen floor, smashing the bowl in the process.

Cag I was very shocked to hear what the Deputy Manager said to you. It was very unprofessional and she was way out of line. Your personal finances are none of her business and she had no right to refer to any benefits you may be receiving. She doesn't know for a fact that there are no desk roles and she's making an assumption that you wouldn't be able for such a role if they do find one. She's been totally unsupportive and completely lacking in empathy. It's unfortunate that they can't recruit anybody else for the position in a permanent capacity but that's hardly your fault. It's not like you chose to be ill. There are a lot of women in my job and we've had a steady stream of employees going out on maternity leave. It's caused a bit of a problem in terms of cover and continuity of work but that's life. You can hardly tell the employees to stop having babies!

Ememem84 · 11/04/2016 18:28

cag that's awful. Come and work with me. I need someone as my assistant just quit to go travelling. I'm nice and jersey is sunny!

Dm has also just come back from France and has replenished my work tin of buttery biscuits. She is the best. She popped into the office today to drop off some treats.

girlie agree start packing.

Energetic day today. Walked to and from work. And have been to the gym. No spends. £20 back to me from our national sweepstake at work.

Someone at work asked me the other day if I was on Instagram. I wasn't. And joined. She was very proud of her 25 followers. I haven't had the heart to tell her that I've been on it a week. And have 100. apparently you need 6500 and brands will send you free stuff. So am working on this must take more bikini/boobie shots hahaha

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/04/2016 18:34

Fluffy I will def look into getting a slimline one, there is no way my one will fit though Sad its half a foot wider than the space even with a cupboard being taken out. Am guessing the kitchen will be similar to Collies its not a bad size but I think I will lose space as in my current kitchen I have a large larder which is full of stuff. No idea where any of that will go!

On the plus side the house felt really warm Smile def won't need any heating on at all!

WreckTangled · 11/04/2016 19:23

Can someone give me the idiots guide on PPI?

So over the last nine years I've had (and paid interest on) credit cards with:

Tesco
Halifax
Natwest

Dh has a Barclaycard.

So as first point of call do I write to them and ask them for a copy of my initial agreement? I don't have any account details just my bank account and previous addresses.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2016 19:30

Dammit I was hoping to avoid you buying a dw. This is when houses get expensive.

I'd sell it on Fb/preloved etc or see if any retailers are offering a trade in deal.

Which electric places offer an NHS discount?. I had a slimline Bosch logixx, it was the business. Offered it to mil for free when we moved. Didn't want it so I flogged it.

Mil is now wistfully wanting a dw.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2016 19:59

Right. Spends

£2.09 in Tesco. Free mini pack of Pringles using a coupon off their fb page.

Got 6 free cartons of lacto free milk using coupons. I just have to remember to defrost it the night before

Colliefeatures · 11/04/2016 20:07

Girlie oh I'd LOVE a dishwasher but could only have a slim line one. We did have a look at them. No idea where we'd put it though. Our cupboards are a bit crap. They are really shallow! Confused

Wreck just call their dedicated PPI helpline. I think Halifax, NatWest and RBS have them. Just say "can you check to see if I had PPI?" All I gave them was my old address, maiden name and estimated the year I had the account. No card numbers or account numbers were needed.

Barclay's have a PPI form thing online. Which I had to use. They got back to me very quickly!

I contacted Tesco via their online generic complaints form! I probably shouldn't have but it worked and they contacted me very quickly afterwards too.

Hope you get some results x

Colliefeatures · 11/04/2016 20:09

wreck you don't need to request any agreements or paperwork from them. Just enquire and they'll do everything else for you. I found the Barclay's form a bit intense but it was worth it.
