Haven't been on the old thread for a few days so thought I'd start a new thread as it's nearly full.

creme I had forgotten you were Irish.
I'm consciously trying not to swear in front of children, I must be winning because when a work colleague showed me his very badly bruised arm I said oh my goodness instead of my usual fucking hell no one noticed but I did Grin
ipsos I think I'm the same as you going for record with folliculitis outbreaks only finished antibiotics for last round 9 days ago & I have it back again & that's with using preventative scrub weekly

Ipsos · 15/12/2015 20:23

Lilac we have a lot in common. :-) I use to avoid infections by taking vitamin D but I feel as if I would like to stop living on vitamins and just get some rest. Now if only I had the sense... Smile

AdoraBell · 15/12/2015 20:47

ipsos apparently being cold suppresses the immune system slightly.

Glad you are feeling a bit better Pointless

I grew up with parents who said they didn't swear, so us kids were not allowed to copy them Hmm and according to DH it's my fault that my teenaged DDs swear. His hearing loss means he didn't understand about 80% of the what they and their friends in Chile were saying in the local lingo. He was first person to say "cunt" in front of the DDs though. and I was carefull not to swear in front of them until a couple of years ago.

Looks like I'll be shopping again tomorrow, DD1 needs chocolates as Christmas presents for friends. It will come out of her pocket money.

Ipsos · 15/12/2015 20:51

Good to know Adora. Thanks. I'm currently putting off buying a warm jumper and heating the house on frugaleering principles. Maybe that is not sensible.

I wanted to buy a big thick Arran jumper from the Edinburgh Woollen Mill but they cost a bomb. Maybe the thing to do is wear a fleece instead? Or a hot water cylinder jacket

Pointlessfan · 15/12/2015 22:16

That's what I thought fluffy but only mistake I can see is that he just got 1 pack of nappies but I usually get 3 for £12. We can definitely manage with one pack until next week. He returned with DD mysteriously covered in mud, not sure how that happened at supermarket!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/12/2015 22:19

I looooooove Luther

AdoraBell · 15/12/2015 22:43

Ipsos I've never found fleece efectivo, why don't you have a look just after Christmas? My local branch has offers on now actually.

AdoraBell · 15/12/2015 22:49

Just googled their offers, they have a hooded Aaron cardigan for £37.50, is that affordable?

Girlfriend36 · 15/12/2015 22:50

Fluffy Grin ahh you lot are the best!

Apparently when I was about 4yo and my mum had her nct friends over I walked up to her and said 'have you found the fucking keys yet mummy?' Blush Grin

Maybe the apple didn't fall to far from the tree Wink

This particular boy tends to wind dd up for a pass time so in her defence he probably was due being told to fuck off! That said I hope she doesn't do it again.....

Right work tomorrow so much go to bed, night all.

Spotty Luther is brilliant.

lilacclery · 16/12/2015 05:39

After taking both children into my bed last night, dh on nights, I now must try gather my stuff and sneak out without waking them

babsmam · 16/12/2015 06:41

Nsd planned today
I do that on night shift too lilac

Ememem84 · 16/12/2015 06:56

£11.50 to be spent today on eyebrow and bikini wax.

Hopefully that'll be it.

colliepirate · 16/12/2015 07:05

Technically a NSD - if I spend any money it'll be in magic bean form vouchers

I also want Christmassy nail polish and I have enough Boots points to cover it.

Ememem84 · 16/12/2015 07:05

Bank account is £146. Definetly Payday on Monday. We were hoping we'd get paid early for Christmas. But that's not happening.

In a way it's good I suppose. Last few yearsIn my old job we were paid on the second Friday in December. Great! But then had to wait until end of Jan to be paid again. Awful.

For me last year I had to wait until Feb this year as wasn't working in January.

Sold a dvd yesterday that I'd forgotten is listed on Amazon. £15.99. After fees that's about £13 coming to me. Yay!

I've also been penny sweeping into a separate account for the last 6 weeks or so. Have a chunky £14.78 sitting in ac now. Surprised how much or a difference it made.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/12/2015 07:56

My early wakers didn't wake up until 7 Shock because they were up all night so we're all running late.

Should be nsd have ds' nativity this morning. I'm sure he will just stand there looking at the floor!

lilacclery · 16/12/2015 08:11

babsmam I didn't plan on having them in my bed was looking forward to a good nights sleep by myself instead I had both of them in!

Early wakers not waking spotty that puts the whole day behind doesn't?

Ememem84 I have stopped coin sweeping must start again in January

Ipsos · 16/12/2015 08:14

Thanks Adora, I'll take a look. :-)

SpottyTeacakes · 16/12/2015 09:02

Only just got back from the school run. Spent 20 minutes talking to some other mums (major achievement for me) and only felt a little bit like I shouldn't be there

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 16/12/2015 09:12

Argh! DCs' wardrobes need updating (now that they aren't wearing school uniform, their regular clothes are getting a lot more wear, and pretty much everything has stains/holes Blush). DH agreed we should get some now and wrap them for Christmas.

I'm mostly looking online but even on tesco/asda/H&M it's all adding up really fast. Does anyone know - is Primark still markedly cheaper than supermarket type stuff? I could pop in on Thursday if I'm well enough after my meeting.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 16/12/2015 09:17

Well done Spotty! Star I never managed that at all Blush

colliepirate · 16/12/2015 09:29

Fuzz we popped briefly to Exeter's primark whilst in the area at the weekend. They actually worked out more expensive than Sainsbury's. I remember being surprised at the cost. But that was for toddler long sleeve t shirts. The ladies stuff I looked at was a tad cheaper.

Some of their stuff is listed online with prices. (But you can't buy online) Xmas Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 16/12/2015 09:30

Fuzz I think h&m is your best bet really. I think the prices are similar to primark but better quality. I haven't been to primark for a while though. Sorry not much help Grin

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 16/12/2015 09:46

Ah I didn't realise I could look at Primark online, thanks. Unfortunately I can't easily get to a big Sainsbury's but I'll look at that online too.

It's unfortunate that Tesco's last delivery order date is Thursday at midday, as I can't get to town today. I have put a tiny order in already (I have the delivery saver thing so if you spend over a tenner it's free) as it included my great-nephew's present on sale.

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 16/12/2015 09:54

Oh and on a totally unrelated note, does anyone know about Excel? I've been updating my spreadsheet for Christmas and it's suddenly started rounding numbers?! So I put £4.50 in but it changed it to £5, whereas higher up in the column it's left unrounded. The running total is still accurate but it's bugging me Blush

Whataboutreindeer · 16/12/2015 11:03

That sounds like it is formatting the cells incorrectly. Right click and you should be able to change it to sterling or to a number with the correct number of decimal places.
