Naughty day today and spent £4 on a subway lunch and crisps rather than take food to work. Frugal thing was got the meal deal (sub and drink) rather than just the sub as was 39p cheaper lol.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/10/2014 19:38

£227 on Christmas holiday deposit.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/10/2014 19:38

Where you going fluffy?!

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/10/2014 19:49

Cotswolds.

We always say we will but then don't.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/10/2014 20:13

Wow I'd love to do something like that Smile

listsandbudgets · 16/10/2014 20:31

NOt a nsd. I feel like i've lost track of how much money has flowed out today but I'll try:

wii game for DD's birthday £12
Birthday present for her friend on Saturday £8
co-op £4.74 (inclduding a big bar of DD's favourite chocolate for her friend sleeping over on Saturday)
new brownie leggings for DD £12.50
6 more pairs of pants for DS £5 (hoping he's got enough now. Potty training is so messy)
99p shop £2.67 (cheese biscuits and hair slides)

Going to TRY for a NSD tomorrow but this week is going badly and I doubt I'll manage it

AuditAngel · 16/10/2014 20:56

Tesco, lunch plus sweets and wrapping paper for pass the parcel £12.

furcoatbigknickers · 16/10/2014 21:31

Im going to try lsd tomorrow. I will spend £5 at creche

girliefriend · 16/10/2014 21:54

Gah been internet browsing/ shopping this evening Blush

Dd requesting Sulvainian family stuff for Christmas so have bought a few bits that were in the Argos sale £22 and then ended up getting her some new wellies on offer in Zulily £16. Did remember to go via cashback though, still not 100% sure how it works. Do they just put the money into your account? It still seems a bit too good to be true.......

Also checked my account online and it is looking a lot better than last month so that is nice Smile

Sixforgold · 16/10/2014 21:58

3 NSDs this week! Hoping for a fairly low spend weekend. Baked beans might be featuring heavily again!

Iamnotanugget · 16/10/2014 22:27

I've also been Internet browsing but amazingly haven't bought anything. I was looking for some Christmas inspiration. I put a few things in various baskets but then decided to sleep on it and shop around for a better price.

£20 on Christmas event tickets. I'm considering booking a panto too. We went last year and dd loved it but we paid with clubcard vouchers it's really expensive otherwise.

£7 on bits for harvest festival at school.

fluffy that sounds lovely. How long are you away for?

needastrongone · 16/10/2014 22:37

Also looking OK for pay day, which is next Friday. I might allocate any excess to Christmas actually.

Had quite a big Morrison's delivery this evening as I was getting low on tins and packed lunch things and breakfast cereal, well actually everything. Also had a fruit, salad and veg delivery from the market for £30. This will last two weeks. I cannot begin to tell you all how much stuff they send. It fills my main fridge and the fridge in the garage and we only just use it all by the next delivery, despite me planning well.

Was naughty and got my bread from M&S, which sounds ostentatious, but I bought cheap stuff last week and it just got left (well, I froze for breadcrumbs). So that's false economy.

I also bought the Boden dress I hankered after and a Joules dress. Both with discount, free delivery and returns and a £10 voucher. I will send back without hesitation, so haven't allocated this money yet until I keep one.

Au-pairs. Our friends, both doctors, have used them since their DC were tiny. They have had mixed bag, it's fair to say, but mainly positive experiences. Even with the DC in their teens, they still have one, as they live in a hamlet and it covers their long hours and after school activities, plus the school run etc. They like the flexibility, but there's a set number of hours and other commitments you honour re study etc.

Christmas in the Cotswolds sounds lovely Smile

Shock at the laundry costs, roll on a new machine asap!!

chocolatedonut · 16/10/2014 23:57

£28 tesco on sweets, swimming nappies, calpol and a new gym top for myself.

£10 out at ATM - £4 spent in post office

£15 on personalised Christmas decorations from Facebook seller

Disappointed in mmyself today. Confused

AuditAngel · 17/10/2014 06:47

This thread won't last the month, will it?

needastrongone · 17/10/2014 06:53

Nope it won't Audit Smile

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 17/10/2014 07:41

Spendy yesterday, went to theatre in Oxford and for dinner with two old friends. The theatre was a student production so not as bad as it could have been!

Going to a friend's house for dinner tonight so will need to bring chocolates or something similar. Then tomorrow it's the staff trip from work to see an exhibition and have a meal. Phew.

I'm not feeling the best today and am really panicking that my old symptoms are coming back, it feels very similar indeed although less severe, and the time would be ripe for an attack as it's been 3.5 weeks since surgery and before they tried to fix it my attacks were roughly every 2-3 weeks. Sad

Hope you feel better soon missA...
Should be nsd today. Going to visit my grandparents, they love to spend time with their great grandchildren Smile

lilacclery · 17/10/2014 08:41

Oh missA that doesn't sound good, fingers crossed for you that their phantom symptoms x

needastrongone dh being home last week and next has proven to me how much easier life would be if we'd a childminder come into house to mind them or an aupair. Childminder in house would be the preferred option but it is more expensive than bringing them out to be minded as you are essentially their employer so pay min wage plus tax prsi etc. The children have loved being home as well and dd is not happy in childminders, plus dh is not happy either as it turns out ds spends a lot of time in the buggy just feet from the tv Sad

further spends yesterday €2.50 on a prescription, we currently hold a medical card and this is out at end of the month, dreading those further expenses. €7.50 on tesco delivery saver, changed to the midweek option so saved €2.50 a month. This is a 3 month scheme so will cover my christmas deliveries. I'm hoping a discount code will come up in time so that I can buy delivery saver for the year, it's only new to Ireland so surely it'll come in time. Or a boost to clubcard vouchers maybe.

Just renewed dd's library books online as I don't have time tomorrow and she hasn't really read them much either, so avoided fines, that's frugal isn't it!

Cooked up leftover beefstew with red split lentils and some tomato puree this morning to make soup for lunch. Love getting an extra meal out of dinner! Had leftover roast veg soup on monday. Switching to soup a few days for lunch has kickstarted my weight loss again which had plateaued for months, as has drinking green tea & including nuts with my yogurt

furcoatbigknickers · 17/10/2014 09:00

Hoping for nsd. Im giving the gym a miss can't be bothered because washing machine not sorted and only have 1 kit and want to go on sat/sun to avoid visiting inlaws

furcoatbigknickers · 17/10/2014 09:07

Oh darn.. Forgot the £1 I gave dd3 for
Non uniform day

574ejones · 17/10/2014 14:31

Hope it isn't your symptoms returning missA.

I have had a spendy day: £59 Aldi weekly food but then discovered Home Bargains £6 on Stocking fillers. And because today is the first day of 25% early bird discount with Brittany ferries, just booked my summer holiday (£160 deposit).

Hoping for a quiet week end.

sportinguista · 17/10/2014 14:49

2 NSD's this week so not too bad. Need to aim for 3 next week but it's half term so need to find a few free things to do with DS. Luckily there are some free Hallowe'en activities and outdoors things on so that may be ok.

I guess we'll also do a trip to the local art gallery as they do some free make and do stuff.

Today was £7 on wellies for DS from Primark but they'll last all winter and save his shoes. £5 on marked down veg including peppers which will last a while and a stir fry which takes care of tomorrow night and big milk to last all weekend and beyond plus cheap coke.

Need to start experimenting with slow cooker and going to do some baking with DS over half term as he enjoys both doing and eating!

confusedandemployed · 17/10/2014 15:49

£34.50 in Aldi including nappies and wine. All bought up now til about Wed. £2 in Iceland on spring rolls to go with our egg fried peanut rice tomorrow. £6.50 on parking for work away day (grr).
MissA I hope you're feeling better now and it's not the same old thing.

lilacclery · 17/10/2014 16:46
