Hi All,
I couldn't see a new thread yet, so thought I'd start one for July. The jacket potato is a marker for starting summer off on a frugal note. :).

NSD so far.

Hello. Just got back from a lovely weekend away. My aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary party in Wiltshire. We had booked to stay over on Saturday night, but when I realised we were off on Friday for sports day, we left straight from school and stayed 2 nights.

Diesel £54 but reclaim from work.

Dinner in hotel restaurant Friday night, kids split an adult meal and DD2 had soup.

Saturday we went to Cheddar gorge as DH had never been. £57.50 for a family ticket, open top bus tide, 2 sets of caves, museum. We didn't go up Jacobs ladder 274 steps (old, fat and lazy) but did everything else. DH paid. Ice creams £7.70 for 5 (less than I expected). Pub lunch, DH paid.

Party Saturday night, DH gets overly generous so I never pay his bar bill.

Got the bill this morning, £460!

Of that, £212 was the accommodation for 5. We could have stayed somewhere cheaper, but then we would have needed taxis. Also, my brother stayed nearby in a Premier inn, and his room was £122 for one night, and he still had to drive back to it.

DH paid £300, I paid the rest.

Hoping for NSD tomorrow, DD2 seems to have mumps!

FantaSea · 06/07/2014 18:14

Audit your weekend sounds lovely and hope DD2 is ok.

NSD today Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 06/07/2014 18:27

Nsd. But I'm about to buy a couple of bits from the works as Christmas presents. Free delivery for today and 18%tcb. Will probably spend £10.

Sixforgold · 06/07/2014 19:40

We've had a fairly spendy weekend - will tot up properly tomorrow when I can see bank statements. We had take-away and drinks yesterday as had Pil's to stay and we've been out for brunch this morning.

On a positive note we've spent the afternoon sorting out and photographing things to sell on eBay/fb so will upload those tonight.

audit your weekend sounds lovely, as does yours makingchanges. We have a weekend with friends in London this week, both on stag and hens the weekend after and then our camping holiday the weekend after that ok deep breaths...! Sometimes spending is unavoidable.

NK5BM3 · 06/07/2014 20:33

£36 at Asian shop. I go there every few weeks.

Had friends over today and did a lot of cooking and feeding. Had a friend of dc's stay over too. Really fun weekend. I really enjoyed making all that food and having them consumed. Felt useful (if that makes sense!!).

Did quite abit of food shopping this weekend. So will sit back and just consume for a little while...!

Have a good work week!

CremeEggThief · 06/07/2014 21:10

£3.60 bus fare, £1.57 Card Factory (they're doing 7 birthday cards for £1), £20 on two Next vouchers for colleagues' birthdays and £7.something at Tesco.

Glad to hear about some lovely weekends :). Adora, I wouldn't mention the calculator either.

Iamnotanugget · 06/07/2014 22:14

Adora I would replace it. At the very least I'd offer to replace it.

Nsd but that's because the weather has been good so I've done masses of washing and we've played in the garden.

Need to meal plan tomorrow. Boring but needs doing.

AdoraBell · 06/07/2014 23:50

Thanks everyone, I think denying knowledge is out of the question because DDs know and would have to either lie or keep their preteen mouths shut. I'll offer to pay.

NSD today. Tomorrow need to get yet more things for shool we couldn't get yesterday and a few bits of groceries.

Glad you've all had good weekends Audit NK and Makingchanges

Hope everyone else has a good weekend too.
