I fixed it. Forgot I've got new broadband/router Blush

This morning I had to pay for the school dinners, and DD1's school trip, that was more or less £150! It is a long half term this time, and then no more to pay until September.

Car service today was £430, but I reclaim that from work.

DH queried last night why I hadn't used his money to clear any of my debts yet. I resisted the urge to point out he had made some snide comments about having to provide him with a repayment plan etc. and comments about the work needed on the roof. I just said I was waiting to see what the roof was going to cost.

He said to take what I needed to clear the debts I'm paying interest on. So I said I'd take what was needed to clear my loan, will discuss if I'll take to clear some credit cards too. I have a Barclaycard with a few different rates, mainly 6% but part 12%, plus a small balance also on 6% with Opus (was Citibank). Off to work out what I need.

NSD - Debated going to Asda on my way home for something but decided I really didn't need it.

Tried to do a no spend day yesterday but ended up in Sainsburys for some medicine for my IBS and then bought a few other things. £11.54 in the end. Then needed to by some laminating pouches but bought a big pack online which will save money in the long run.

I had a really stressful day at work and almost fell into my old ways of resorting to takeaway tea. However, I resisted and instead bought some garlic bread to go with the pasta tea originally planned. I also splurged on some lovely summer fruit which is a lovely treat. This wouldn't have been too spendy if I'd been at aldi but I was at my local supermarket Booths (like a northern Waitrose) so it all came to £8.70 but I'll make sure we get lots of portions from the fruit!
Made enough pasta for tea tonight and both our lunches tomorrow.
Made about £35 selling stuff on eBay and have a few more things to list.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/06/2014 20:51

Well done, I bet a takeaway would have cost more & fruits healthy.

Forgot to say, inspired by fluffy I have got some carrot and lentils soup on the go using the floppy carrots from the veg rack. Didn't have any potatoes to thicken the soup so am experimenting with frozen chips. Will let you know how it works Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/06/2014 21:00

Oh I'm going to get the blame if that goes wrong. I never thicken soup with potatoes I'm a bit lazy like that

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 03/06/2014 21:03

I use lentils

northender · 03/06/2014 21:11

I just prefer it with a bit of extra thickening so chips it is, I take full responsibility for my actionsGrin

NK5BM3 · 03/06/2014 21:12

£25 for a dermabrasion facial. I have scarring on my face and decided now that I'm older I need to sort myself out. £29 for ds tennis after school. Argh.

springbright · 03/06/2014 21:17

Brilliant plan b north Grin

northender · 03/06/2014 21:36

Soup is delish! Yay to frozen chips in soup Grin

Allthingsprettyreturns · 03/06/2014 21:51

I have been reading these threads for a little while and have started to keep track of my daily spending using my diary. I have found that it makes me think really hard about whether I need something or not.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/06/2014 22:11

I'm going to make soup tomorrow. I do spiced Indian tomato soup the dc love it. It's just 1 onion roughly chopped, 2 tsp garam masala or curry powder, 2 tins chopped tomatoes, 400ml stock, 3tbsp red lentils and a bunch or coriander chopped. Boil it all for twenty minutes then whizz up. Healthy and cheap!

springbright · 03/06/2014 22:14

spotty that sounds lush! Just mind your dd near the soft furnishings Wink

What is it with soup? I've got a hearty leek and potato on the go - its June ffs!

Welcome allthings

FantaSea · 03/06/2014 22:15

These soups sound lovely - you have all inspired me to try and make some. I love frozen chips and might also try them in some soup Smile

£6 in the big Tesco today on printer paper and some fruit so not too bad.

AdoraBell · 03/06/2014 22:38

NSD.

Makingchanges · 03/06/2014 22:50

I love that you added frozen chips. That would never have occurred to me. Glad it tastes nice.

AdoraBell · 04/06/2014 02:26

Spotty I'll be doing that tomatoe soup, thank you.

I actually went into the shop today as DDs were hungry after school but they both got stroppy so we left empty handed. I have a cold and zero patience today. Well, almost zero. Tomorrow I'll take a snack for pick up as they come out late.

OkyDoke · 04/06/2014 09:34

Got paid today, put my share into the joint account for the month, some in savings, now going to take out the last of my wages and make that last all month (apart from direct debits which I've left enough cash in there for!) Need lots of no spend days from my personal cash. I want to save as much as possible this month!

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/06/2014 15:32

NSD.

I like these NSD. I need to be more disciplined.

CoolCadbury · 04/06/2014 16:20

£3.05 for lunch but will reclaim that back, so can I count that as NSD? Last week's shop came to £66, which I am happy with.

MadScientistsRuleTheAsylum · 04/06/2014 18:32

£20 to the Woollyhugs for MN giving week and £16.80 on sock yarn :-( I did take packed lunch though and I will get 2 pairs of socks from the yarn!

AdoraBell · 04/06/2014 18:45

Just spent £6 on fruit and veg, rock hard pears will be ready by mid next weekHmm least it gives me a head start on next week's shopping.
