If you tumble dry a towel with no fab soft it will still be soft but I line dry.

The glasses are £69 on the Internet, or £27 on eBay. I'm going back tomorrow to get the others.

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 18/04/2014 22:05

gogo I sOooo want a Sheila maid too! Objects of use in Oxford do lovely ones

I don't have a tumble drier as I am worried about the electricity it would use so I line dry outside or hang on horses inside. I do use softener though. I think some of my towels have gone so crispy as they are a bit old!

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/04/2014 09:24

I bought a spin dryer last year (lots of piss taking ensued) but it costs about 4p an hour to run and the extra water it gets out means I've line dried most of the winter because it didn't need to be out there for a long time.

I get an extra pint of water out after each wash.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2014 10:12

Spendy day yesterday over £100 I think.

£36 in warehouse
£13 train ticket
£6.50 cocktail
£70 odd in Dorothy Perkins
£28 Chinese

Today will be £68 tesco delivery

FantaSea · 19/04/2014 11:15

Fluffy an extra pint of water? That's a lot! My machine spins at 1200 so it comes out fairly 'dry' to start with. I love it in the summer when I can get everything dry outside and it is not dripping round the house. I have tried putting my washing outside on a winter's day but it just gets cold and doesn't dry at all. Perhaps the spin dryer is the answer.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/04/2014 11:21

Spin dryers spin at 2800rpm, my machines a 1200rpm spin too.

I worked out it was cheaper to buy a new washer with a low spin plus a spinner than to buy a 1600rpm washer.

It was £90 on amazon but it was worth every penny.

FantaSea · 19/04/2014 11:39

Fluffy I didn't know the spin dryer spun so fast - that would make a lot of difference to me. Does it make things more creased though?

MissMysticFalls · 19/04/2014 12:03

I got a washer/dryer with 1600 spin before DS arrived - very little room to dry indoors in our flat. It's great but things are in danger of falling off shelves when the spin gets going!

Only spend today was an all day bus ticket to go exploring with DP. Need to get ingredients to make Easter nest cakes later though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/04/2014 12:17

FantaSea It doesn't, you fold everything and line the drum with the clothes & put the plastic mat on top.

If you load it badly by putting a heavy item on one side and nothing on the other it will be noisy so I cram it full and it's noticeable but I can live with it.

Hi all and happy Easter. My parents came last Saturday, yai and left yesterday, not yai. Had a lovely week and enjoyed it fully.
Bit more spendy than normal, but then again, they bought us loads as well and paid food ect. Always feel very spoilt by my parents.
They also brought stuff for the future DD, so lovely things and some very typical Danish, so feels a bit like home. Always feel homesick when they leave and now I wanna go hoooooome. It will take a few days and then I am okay again.
Went to scan with future DD Tuesday and at 34 weeks she was approx 2100 gr., so she is growing fine but in her own pace :)
Still have 300 Euros roughly left for rest of month, so hoping to save a bit extra in the end, already saved 450 euros this month, but more is always better.

FantaSea · 19/04/2014 15:47

Italian pleased your scan went well Smile

NK5BM3 · 19/04/2014 16:56

Lunch out £28. But v yummy and. Have been hankering over it for a week now. Bought the dress that I saw a few days ago... Hmm But it was £16 down from £55?!!

Booked Easter lunch for tomorrow at nearby pub. Gulp. Have dinner sorted twice next week with friends. Vv grateful.

NK5BM3 · 19/04/2014 18:07

Have just spent £27 on Peppa pig tickets. Argh. Out of guilt? Sheesh. Hate school holidays. Really do. Spend too much. Roll on Tuesday.

ilovepicnmix · 19/04/2014 18:31

Pleased to hear all is well italian

6.29 in Tesco and 35.70 in aldi. Got family visiting next weekend sp bought a lot of stuff that I wouldn't normally.

Iamnotanugget · 19/04/2014 19:37

Another £24 on food!!! Dh enjoyed having family round so much yesterday that he invited friends round today so we had to pop out for some extra bits. I have had two lovely days but I think we're running at about £60 now on just 2 days. Tomorrow will have to be a nsd fairly easy as shops are shut and on Monday I am buying one pair of sunglasses for dd and NOTHING else. Any suggestions where to get sunglasses from? I usually buy from Boots with half price voucher but they don't seem to be doing them this year. I'm wary of buying really cheap ones in case they do more harm than good.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2014 19:42

I struggle with sunglasses as I have such a small head Hmm I've got prescription ones now which were ££££ but my spare pair are from next and my pair before from Dorothy Perkins. Always found them good.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/04/2014 20:43

I go to tk maxx for sunglasses, you just need lenses that are labelled UV400 which is the maximum rating. You pay for the frames, the lens is literally worth pennies.

That's why standard lenses come free in some optitians now.

£10 fruit bowl in tk maxx
70p lidl on consolation crisps when I found out the ribs are half price next week not today.

CremeEggThief · 19/04/2014 20:44

£5.80 in Lidl, £2.07 in Tesco and £1.29 on weedkiller in the discount store. Oh and £1.45 or so for the collection in church- Easter vigil Mass.

CremeEggThief · 19/04/2014 20:46

I'm having a glass of the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc I bought in Lidl yesterday. It was my first time to buy any wine there, and I'm sold. It's lovely!

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/04/2014 21:00

I tried aldi steaks this week, even dh liked them. Totally converted now.

You cannot go wrong with Sauvignon blanc.

springbright · 19/04/2014 21:04

Another lovely sunny day but our costs are mounting too...having friends round for roast tomorrow - hoping there will enough leftovers for bubble & squeak on Monday!

Had a think about saving for summer hols on our way out today. If there are 13 weeks til summer hols, and we saved in an accumulator style, we could save £100 by July; so £1 in the jar next week, £2 the week after, £3 in week 3 and so on. My quick car-head-maths made this £93 by w/e 20th July. Il stick in another £7 if I can do it!

Misjudged when my mat benefit was finishing so now will have limited money until 1st may payday, but no direct debits due out of my account either.

I do a self employed slimming class once a week so out of this will be paying cleaner €45 & doing groceries. It usually nets me €150 weekly but Easter holidays means it dipped this week to €115 & next will probably be under €100.

I will do a shop based on what I have in storecupboard & we'll manage that way. Could get money from dh but like to test myself!

Am covered for dinners up to Wednesday. Will get a couple of chicken fillets & make chicken & chorizo stew have peppers passata & chorizo in stock. There's two PorkChops in freezer so will do something with this for dh one of the days. Quiche another day(have hens so lots of eggs) seafood pasta another day, will need to buy the mixed seafood pack alright. Sausage stew. Stirfry with rest of chicken fillets that's a good few days sorted just by buying 5 chicken fillets for €5, sausages & seafood pack.
