spottyteacakes bedtime is between 8 & 9, she falls asleep before we're back downstairs again!

coolcadbury no big deal doing a class tomo night so will have money after that. Had everything bought in shopping Sunday anyhow so not suffering!

Steam afaik sells software, I'm going to buy ynab when it comes up on that too.

FantaSea · 08/04/2014 22:06

Spotty I did the same with my email address Blush and my shopping is coming tomorrow Smile .

SpottyTeacakes · 08/04/2014 22:08

I've booked mine for Saturday £6 ffs. I kept thinking how expensive everything is though. I did get the £5 cash back from topcashback though Grin

FantaSea · 08/04/2014 22:55

Spotty £6 is a lot for delivery but then you get the £15 off plus the £5 so that is £20 saved Smile . You're right - everything is expensive and having the ability to add more things on until the night before delivery is tempting, I haven't been able to leave it alone.

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 09/04/2014 02:02

Hello all! Congrats to possibly and glad adora is unscathed by the earthquake!
I'm just en route home from the air port with some very tired pupils, trip to Turkey was a stonking success.

In other news, DH got the new job he was after!!! We are so pleased, he will start in September and it's permanent, full time, closer to home with free on site parking and free lunch every day. Still can't believe it!

AdoraBell · 09/04/2014 02:15

Thanks MissAnnersley, glad your trip went well. Huge congrats on DH's fab new jobGrin.

Topped up on supermarket offers before they run out tomorrow. Spent about £20, then had to use the expensive road back due to an accident, funeral procession and time constraints. I forgot that the stretch into/out of the city is more expensive. £2.55 off peak. Won't be making that mistake again. Add my £2.55 to school and £1.20 going into town and it's been a rather spendy day.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/04/2014 06:44

Tbf Fanta if I go to lidl it costs me that in petrol anyway as it's 20 miles away.

Expecting a spendy one today Hmm

NK5BM3 · 09/04/2014 07:04

Oh and I need to 'fess up about some spends on the weekend. Bought a cotton lace dress from m&s - it's really pretty but also cost nearly £40. And two pairs of shoes, flats.. One for £25 and the other nearly £40 too. Argh. Should I return them?????? The £40 shoe is apparently 'anti fatigue'!!! Which sounds great!

SpottyTeacakes · 09/04/2014 07:15

If you can afford them keep them Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2014 07:28

You've got to wear something in the summer. Keep them.

Ovo are launching a cheap energy tariff today at 10am.

Aldi voucher in the sun today

springbright · 09/04/2014 08:22

Unplanned nsd yesterday as I have a tummy bug and was mainly staying in anyway as just introducing dd to potty training.

I must be feeling unwell as made it to Tesco carpark and had to turn around and come straight home!

I am attempting a short trip out to meet up with friends this morning, mainly as its hardwork looking after lo for a whole day indoors whilst feeling rough.

I have tons of stuff to photograph and sell. Need some mojo. Why do I always get sick in my holiday time Angry!

springbright · 09/04/2014 08:23

Oh and huge congratulations to missannetsley's family! Exciting news, those benefits to New job sound great!

SpottyTeacakes · 09/04/2014 10:24

AngryAngryAngry Someone has lit a bonfire so I can't hang out my washing. I'm going to have to tumble dry it instead AngryAngryAngry

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2014 10:45

MissAnnersleyismyhero. Congratulations to your dh, I bet he can't wait to start.

£3.90 paper & contact lens fluid in sainsbos
42p cat food
£1 big envelopes, saved the receipt for the accountant.

insideleg · 09/04/2014 11:11

Hello everyone, this thread is flying along! Congratulations missannersley you must be thrilled!
Reading about the water meters has reminded me that I haven't paid any water rates for over a year. Gulp. It is a kind of communal meter that is charged to my landlord. That will have to come out of the deposit when we leave, time to stick head in the sand on that one I think.
£1 i. Card factory, for 7 cards! Thrilled!

FantaSea · 09/04/2014 11:32

Congratulations MissAnnersley that is great news Smile.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/04/2014 11:34

I missed that MissA great news Smile

Iamnotanugget · 09/04/2014 13:42

Congratulations MissA, it's a great feeling knowing things have turned a corner. Dh's job sounds ideal.

£1 on cakes at school sale but I think I think I spent about £7 making the cakes for them to sell!

Have nearly finished Tesco shop but I may split it in 2 as if you spend £20 this week they are giving you £5 off your next order.

Just adding to Fluffy's comment if anyone does want to change energy supplier, I would recommend Ovo. They have exceptional customer service, they are cheap, you can give meter readings whenever you want and they PAY you when you're in credit. No, I don't work for them or have any connection to them. It's just I would rather not pay lowest price than ever have anything to do with British Gas again and I've found NPower pretty bad too so I'm really impressed to find a good energy supplier!

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2014 13:53

I've spent 30 minutes on the phone to the co-op bank today to swap our joint account over and get the £100 switching bonus. Luckily I found a free number for them on saynoto0870, I dread to think how much that call would have cost otherwise.

I was with npower, hated them. Edf have been good as have sse/M&S. I can't find cb on tcb for ovo but mse energy club might have cb.

expectingnumber3 · 09/04/2014 14:47

Thanks for the cards idea Fanta, we are going to make birthday cards for all the family birthdays for the rest of the year!

Spent £83 in Aldi and that will last us the next 2 weeks bar fruit. Freezer is chock full of bread and milk too.

£6 in the pound shop.

Went to John Lewis and used my voucher for coffee and cake. Dc's shared the cake and had water to drink so a lovely free treat for us all. A very happy first day of the hols.

Went to the Natural History Museum in Oxford yesterday and the whole day cost me £4.40! £2.20 at the Park and Ride and £2.20 on the bus fare. Took a picnic with us and luckily the weather was fab! Dc's lived the dinosaurs, the hands in exhibits and the Alice in Wonderland stuff, esp the Dodo. Had a good run around in Christchurch Meadows too. Brilliant day out!

Dc's out with my Dm and Df today so NSD here.

FantaSea · 09/04/2014 14:59

Just had my lovely Tesco shop delivered - it came to £47.36 with my £15 voucher taken off so I am really pleased. It was all there except for the dishwasher tablets - they were on offer and I said no substitutions so no doubt there were all sold out.

expecting pleased you liked the cards idea - my DD would take ages decorating cards. She is nearly grown up now but I have small nieces and I love getting handmade cards from them with their drawings on, it is such a lovely thing to receive Smile .

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 09/04/2014 15:56

Lovely weather outside but means was too bright n equally too noisy from mowers n builders for my planned afternoon snooze

SpottyTeacakes · 09/04/2014 15:57

£1.60 hospital parking
£15 petrol
£25 in sainsburys on outfit for ds and picnic for tomorrow, not very frugal but out of personal spends as it's a treat.

Got my dad and bil birthday presents from john lewis using vouchers

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 09/04/2014 16:30

Thanks all Grin we're thrilled. Should be getting back pay in April (not holding breath though Angry so things are generally on the up.

This process has really made me wary of debt - we earn a decent amount but it's still going to take at least a year to clear our debt and we have no yachts, champagne etc it was all frittered away on silly stuff. It's far too easy to build up debt and so hard to clear it quickly even when you're totally focused.
