As we filled the old thread, thought I'd start a new one for February.

I have £21.50 in clubcard vouchers. Going to save them I think.

Today's mission is to consolidate our three credit cards Blush to one with longest 0%/lowest transfer fee. Pay minimum of £100 a month off. It's about £3000 so hopefully we can get it done in two years.

Yesterday was spendy as DH and I went out for the day for his birthday, but budgeted for as well. in the past we would have still done the same thing but not thought about whether it would make a difference to the month's money........NSD today, we're having family round for lunch but they're getting Xmas leftovers from the freezer and roasted veg to clear out the fridge Blush

SOOO cross with DH, his email is the one used to log into the veg box delivery and we've cancelled it for a block period to allow us to meal plan and be more frugal. In the past he has forgotten (he is very very scatty) to change the order and it's a constant nagging battle "Have you changed the riverford" "Oh no, I have until 10pm on Saturday" "Just do it now" "I'll do it later" etc
He forgot this week and we've just been to the supermarket yesterday and spent £60, including all fresh food. He is stubborn and won't let me take over managing it. It's £30 extra we've spent now, on fresh food that we won't need or use because we have a meal plan and which I'll have to try and work out how to work into our plan//freeze// preserve on top of working a 70 hour week. ARGHHHHHHHHH Angry

That's so annoying!! I'm sure you can think of lots of yummy things to do with it though. Soups, pasta sauces, roasted veg, veg casserole etc

Spotty, well done for having so much stored away with your Utility company. Just a thought, but if you moved that to a savings account you would be gaining a tad of interest on it. It wouldn't be much, but every little helps, as they say...

NSd here today, doing a roast for us 3 and only had a small glass of wine lastnight with dinner so have wine for lunch, sister is coming over with our new hamster and FIL to help with a piss arsin difficult curtain pole.
Busy day deters me from spending or rather going out to spend.
I genuinely think i have a spending problem. I have NO savings apart from an emergency fund (500 which equates to the most expensive thing we own) which is in cash. And i cannot save, well i can, i.e if we were decorating (which we are at the mo) i have put money aside each month or bought what we need bit by bit.
Im in a bit of debt too, nothing i lose sleep over but when i go back after mat leave i will be using the wages we are managing without now to pay it all off. Im so shit with money. Sad

i had a feeling that you can withdraw money from your Utility account at any time - it's YOUR money.

Feel really good about my spending yesterday,

Bus fair in and out of my voluntary job (only once a week)- €5.20
Wind in the willows books for DD - €1 (bargain!)
Toilet paper - €4.50
Washing machine tabs €2.09
8 cans of coke zero (my one and only vice right now and will last a week) €2.50

Ordinarily I'd have gone to starbucks for a large coffee before work, come home with piles of books for me and DD (I just couldn't pass up the wind in the willows, I'll learn) and bought something really nice for dinner as I was all on my lonesome last night. So I'm feeling a little proud.

NSD today and I only have a tenner so I'll keep that for bus fair tomorrow to take DD to a few (free) museums!!

Very contrite DH made me tea and is out planting bulbs in the garden and offered to photograph all my remaining ebay stuff. He's lovely really despite infuriating scattiness Grin

spotty you are absolutely right, I have decided to try and re-jig the meal plan when the veg box and fruit box come tomorrow to last 2 full weeks or more, without any top up shops if it can be avoided. That way we come out ahead Smile

AND I did some judging for a local prep school competition this week, didn't expect any payment, just got a lovely card and bottle of wine today in my pigeon hole, so I'm looking forward to a glass of free Wine tonight.

Enjoy your free wine Grin

A NSD for me. Church this morning followed by a roast at home and now laying on the sofa watching toy story with DS who has cold.

Tomorrow I'm at work so another NSD as I'll take lunch with me. Just need to post my eBay packages off. £150 in my paypal so far. Need £110 more to reach my target!

NSD day for me Smile

Have started clearing my bedroom today (DCs rooms tomorrow) and so far have filled a stacking box of bits to sell.

I put around £1.50 into the church collection last night (not sure how much it was as it was just the change in my pocket, but less than £2). Nothing today, took kids to (prepaid) swimming lessons, said no to sweets from machine as we have a box of quality street from Christmas at home. Took DD2 to a dancing show rehearsal, home to cook dinner, chicken and veg from freezer plus potatoes from cupboard.

Not going out tonight so won't spend anything today. Grin

NSD for me. Took dd to see her dad, bus fare was £4 but he paid for that. I usually buy at least one coffee while I'm there but I didn't today. Meals were leftovers and freezer/store cupboard stuff.

I've been making recipes from the "a girl called jack" website, recently. They're really nice and very frugal!

About 25 quid at the supermarket today. The only thing "off list" was halfprice cookies and some veggie fingers to try to get DS back on the veg wagon! Goats milk for DS is now 1.60 a litre!!! Crazy. Will try to eBay DS's sleeping bags tonight.

Just listed 12 things on eBay, which is about all I have left for now. I made £460 selling between mid-October and the beginning of December!

Nsd.

Sold some stuff on eBay for £10 but only so I'd have funds to pay fees for selling the washer dryer.
