Thanks fluffy they look v tasty I shall try it Grin

Bunged a few more bits on eBay just now then got bored but its something.

I am still bf so still have a raging sweet tooth. Going to make the Nigel slater banana cake if dd2 ever goes to sleep. I'm annoyed I bought green and blacks though as I went to also soon after that - rubbish planning.

On a positive note though aldi choc spread is amazing and much cheaper than Nutella :-) more nutty too GrinGrinGrin

AdoraBell · 12/06/2013 03:15

bloody hell Spent £2.40 on roads and £2.50 on parking, twice.
Went to mete OH for a cheap lunch Then had to go back again to Get book day costumes. Those were £40 and I Spent another £12 on naice chocs for Father's day. Tomorrow I plan to go back to Bed once DDs have gone to school and stay there. Seems to be the only way to avoid spending money.

AdoraBell · 12/06/2013 04:06

And DDs have discovered H&M, help!

Raaraathenoisybaby · 12/06/2013 09:57

Adora! Ha ha yes!
I could do an NSD today but I feel guilty about doing stuff with dd2 so I shall take her to baby yoga (free as part of gym membership) and try and limit it to a quick coffee afterward or not even that if there's no one staying afterward. Need to pull my finger out and get dd2 weighed later on (nothing to buy) before baby swimming (nothing to buy even close!)
Actually today is looking promising.
More decluttering and eBay today as have realised a fire guard is now essential. Realised when we left dd1 at nursery that dd2 was covered in soot!

shortscotty · 12/06/2013 20:03

i had nsd today sort of... £1.50 on school cooking lesson - plus the £3.10 it cost yesterday for strawberries and cream. Nice for them to have a bit of luxury in the lessons - and the cake was delicious - but I really think it would be a good idea to get back to basics like when Home Economics taught you about cooking to a budget or even a full meal for a group. Especially now when we lecture the kids constantly about thinking how much stuff costs and why they can't have 2 cds they saw on Amazon... having this chat with Boy 1 as I type! Smile

takeaway2 · 12/06/2013 20:40

NSD 5! Grin Well it wouldn't have been an NSD if dh didn't volunteer to go to the shops to get bread! Hehe. The money is from the family pot but still I didn't have to part with it!

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/06/2013 20:56

They should teach about shopping in home ec too, why buy a tiny pack of rice when a 2kg sack works out cheaper? Why buy ready made pastry when you can whizz it up in the food processor for pennies?

£5 today in Homebargins on stuff for work and the house.

SpangleMaker · 12/06/2013 23:22

Quick check in from me as past my bed time.

Today's spends £14.20 train and £68 weekly groceries from Ocado. I have a lot of main meal stuff in but needed nappies for DD for home and nursery, and wipes too. I know I could spend less if I went to Aldi but I think on balance I'm happy with spending a bit more for the ability to do the shopping on my phone on the train rather than using precious free time I could spend watching the Apprentice doing useful stuff.

Raaraathenoisybaby · 13/06/2013 00:06

Klaxon!!!! There is a free listing day in eBay today (13/06) I will be v busy!

KinkyDorito · 13/06/2013 06:12

Thanks for all the nice welcomes.

Isn't it amazing how, when you decide to commit to a financial diet, suddenly all these expenses crop up? Like any diet I suppose with plenty of sabotage.

The cat looks unwell. I'm going to get him to the vet at the weekend as I won't have a chance before. It needs two of us to take them as they travel in a pair and I can't manage to lift them both by myself. Little cat has always been sickly and small, but now I'm suspecting some underlying illness like diabetes or hyperthyroidism. Before you ask, no, we don't have insurance as that would have been the sensible thing to do!! Unfortunately, over the last couple of years I've been too busy managing DDs cancer and treatment and working FT so lots of things slid including house, money, everything. I'm just hoping little cat is not bearing the brunt of this Sad.

There is always something in this house.

Helenagrace · 13/06/2013 07:20

Hi Kinky! Welcome to the frugaleers!

NSD 3 here. Might manage NSD 4 today.

Currently fuming here! Having moved 300 miles in December for DH to take this job they're now talking redundancies. So bloody angry. He's dusted off his CV and is chatting to recruiters.

One of my contracts might not get extended as the college are making cuts to permanent staff.

I've taken on an extra few hours over the summer in my other job but that won't last beyond September.

Oh and the oven in the house we rent out because we couldn't sell it looks to have died. That'll be about £600.

Crap all round really!

Alwayscheerful · 13/06/2013 07:41

Helenagrace - i am a lurker, Our oven died last week, I managed to order an element from eBay £9 cost & 4 screws and Its working again, it took me 2 hrs to identify the part (very frustrating) but it was worth it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/06/2013 07:48

Good point Always, much cheaper to fix big items like that.

Yay for free listing.

ExasperatedSigh · 13/06/2013 08:08

Thanks for the free listing tip off! Got a couple of slings to list, now that we've definitely decided no more babies :) / :( / :)

Have also finally started flogging my nappies on Cloth Nappy Tree - sold five yesterday to various people, just need to confirm postage before they pay, but the bloody site is down!

Was my first NSD of the month yesterday, until boredom and tiredness drove DH to the chippy. Will be more spending today as DS needs new pants and I need to get a few birthday presents for children. I'm going out with a friend tonight as well, much needed - feeling generally fed up with the drudgery of everyday life.

Kinky hope little cat is okay. We've recently had vet bill trauma and that's with insurance, so will be crossing my fingers for you.

Raaraathenoisybaby · 13/06/2013 10:57

Exasperated hi Grin what slings are you flogging? I'm an ergo fan but I fancy a mei tai. Cloth nappy tree? I have plies of the buggers to flog is it better than eBay?

Raaraathenoisybaby · 13/06/2013 11:02

Today a lady from my children's centre came to do an assessment and now I can have free stair gates and a fire guard which I was about to buy so I'm really pleased. Thru only offered because I went to weigh in and was taking about dd2 trying to get up the chimney. I was entitled because I get tax credits. I'm really pleased because they will fit the stairs hates properly which is better than me doing it. Wish they would publicise these scenes more though!

ArtemisatBrauron · 13/06/2013 13:00

£200 on emergency dental work. FFS.

AdoraBell · 13/06/2013 13:25

Yay, well done on Those freebiesRaar

Finges crossed for the cat Kinky

Helena that's seriously crápula, not suprised you feel angry

And Artimisa Shock even without the hefty cost. Hope you are okay now.

Had and NSD yesterday, at last. Today I nees to Get some thing for DDs to share at hockey match Tomorrow. I'm vera confused. Tomorrow is book day, so they have to be a character etc. And now the school has invited another school for a hockey match, on the the same day, at the same time.

ArtemisatBrauron · 13/06/2013 13:31

Thanks adora Sad it was sooororreeee. I have anti biotics now to ward off post-surgery infection. I nearly collapsed when they told me the price. Especially bitter as I have an electric toothbrush and am pretty rigorous with it, but apparently have inherited weak teeth of my mother. Joy.

OP posts:
ExasperatedSigh · 13/06/2013 14:18

AdoraBell I now have a wonderful image of Anne of Green Gables ankle-hacking Cruella de Vil on the hockey pitch Grin

Artemisat ouch, in every sense :( We are seeing the dentist in a couple of weeks, for the first time in years. My teeth are shit. I anticipate a huge bill :(

Raaraa score on the free safety stuff! Slings: I have a stretchy Moby wrap, which I'm guessing you won't need as it's really only 0-6 months, and a Rose & Rebellion carrier. The R&R is like a mei tai with buckles instead of straps, it's dead easy to use and very comfy.

CNT is better than ebay for selling nappies, I reckon. Check it out - they even have a Wanted page so you can see if anyone's desperately seeking something you've got.

Raaraathenoisybaby · 13/06/2013 14:57

What design r&r is it? If its the sort of tattoo print I equally fancy one Grin

AdoraBell · 13/06/2013 15:02

Exasperated Grin, and apologías for my spelling up there ^^ had to reset the iPad and it's struggling with English, again.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/06/2013 15:08

£2.15 in morrisons for a pizza and tomato juice.

shortscotty · 13/06/2013 15:59

Well the funky noise on the car seems to be cured with steering fluid for £6. Phew, thought it was going to be a garage job, fingers crossed that it is happy now. Also £6 on catfood but unless she gets super greedy that should last til payday in a fortnight.

ExasperatedSigh · 13/06/2013 16:17

Raaraa it's this one, only been used at most five times so is like new really. Turns out both my DC are too bloody independent to take being cooped up in a sling Hmm
