Just tested positive don’t feel too bad but isolating as it’s the right thing to do -
tested because I work with people and want to do the right thing. I also have anxiety so want advice on whether you would go out on a town street walk late at night with your dog who’s missing his second walk ! Unlikely to meet anyone and it’s outside but some how feel strange ! Reassure me please !’

I'd go. It's out in the open air.

Houseplanter · 08/12/2023 19:28

It'll be fine OP.

There will be plenty come along and say ignore it, but fair play to you avoiding spreading anything.

Take pooch for a walk and enjoy some fresh air

Itsnotallaboutyoulikeyouthink · 08/12/2023 19:28

No one’s isolating now surely? Yes perhaps don’t go into work but to not go
outside is extreme now.

CornishPorsche · 08/12/2023 19:29

Yes, we also did this during actual isolation rules or the dog would never have been able to pee.

Just do whatever you need to, try not to breathe on people, that's about it.

PinkflowersWhiteBerries · 08/12/2023 19:29

It’s fine, to be honest I took my dogs out at their regular times and just stayed away from people.

If I met someone I knew, I told them I was positive and stayed a good distance from them. I saw them later and they were fine.

Hopingforblueskies · 08/12/2023 19:31

Thanks 🙏 I’m very anxious about doing the wrong thing ! Will take him out later tonight !

Honestly I wouldn't think twice about it at this point. Going into a crowded place, or inside anywhere, no. Walking out in the open, absolutely.

Hopingforblueskies · 08/12/2023 19:38

@CheeseWisely thank you 🙏
do you test to go back to mixing or just give it 5 days !

TeaWithASplashOfMilk · 08/12/2023 20:17

As others have said, seems fine.

bitofashit · 08/12/2023 20:18

It's no longer 2020 OP.

Whilst I wouldn't intentionally go out breathing covid/any other random cold or flu germs over people indoors, not going out with the dog wouldn't even occur to me.

sonjadog · 08/12/2023 20:20

Yes, you can take your dog out. I would take the dog out as normal if I were in your situation. I’d just try to keep a couple of metres away from anyone I met.

Remmy123 · 08/12/2023 21:31

No one tests let alone isolates anymore!!

megletthesecond · 08/12/2023 21:34

Go for a walk. I went for walks when I had covid.

Hopingforblueskies · 08/12/2023 21:35

@Remmy123 thats not helpful
of you work with vulnerable people it’s the responsible thing to do

punnetofcherries · 08/12/2023 21:38

I tested positive this week and isolated from the outside world purely as I felt so shit! My family didn't stay away from me and came in to give me drinks etc
I haven't gone in to work either as I felt rubbish but equally wouldn't want to pass it on.

I have however today been out for a walk and to the local shop

Hopingforblueskies · 08/12/2023 21:49

@punnetofcherries thats what I’m doing I’m not isolating in my home ! Obviously a ridiculous question to ask - realise it’s irrational now !

OP posts:
LastChristmasIgaveyoumyTart · 08/12/2023 21:53

If you are well enough to go for a walk you can go for a walk. Remember most are not testing now so would only stay home if actually ill.

Hopingforblueskies · 08/12/2023 22:08

@punnetofcherries i guess it’s a ridiculous of me to ask if you would go back to normal daily routine as soon as you feel better even if after say 3 days ?

OP posts:
CityLass · 10/12/2023 01:40

Wear a mask.

???

you mean while still testing positive?

LastChristmasIgaveyoumyTart · 10/12/2023 09:54

@CityLass well yes, given most people are no longer testing, if OP feels well she can go about her business as usual. ‘Testing positive’ is no longer a thing for most people who aren’t prepared to pay for tests and are encouraged to treat covid like any other illness.

Justfinking · 10/12/2023 09:56

Its fine, just wear a mask

punnetofcherries · 10/12/2023 11:49

Don't be daft for asking the question at all.

This Covid situation has made us all doubt ourselves far too much!
Hope you're feeling a lot better now - I'm still quite fatigued with a cough and have now pulled a muscle in my chest from all the coughing I think 😢

Melodysmum12 · 16/12/2023 11:27

Positive consultants are performing operations in my hospital wearing masks so I wouldn’t worry!

healthadvice123 · 17/12/2023 23:07

@Melodysmum12 really? My ds is being made to feel bad because he went somewhere when someone else in the house had covid, he tested before and was negative, 36 hrs later felt ill and tested positive, he took all precautions we could but people still complaining. Funnily some of those don’t test thougH as only a cold !!!
