How quickly did Covid pass through your family?

My DH tested positive this morning and he is feeling really unwell. He has the cough, chills, nausea etc.
I will be amazed if I don’t come down with it as we have been drinking from the same glass and sleeping in the same bed.
From other’s experience does it pass from one person to another pretty quickly?
We are meant to be going on holiday a week today so I fear that might not happen now. 🙁

We were all positive for six days exactly. We came down with one day after the other, one by one, and then had negative tests in exactly the same order and timescale.

I had it first and worst. Clear on LFT 11 days after start of symptoms. DH almost as bad as me, clear by day 10. DS2 less affected, clear by day 9. Still waiting on DS1, he’s currently on day 5 and coughing loads.

We're all really low risk category and when husband had a positive test no one had symptoms.

I got it April 2022 ironically a couple of days before the restrictions lifted in the UK. 3 adults in this house and none of us caught it before then. In fact I work from home all the time- DS and DH go out to work every day so you would think I was least likely to get it - DS gets a crowded bus twice a day 5 days a week.

Anyway neither of them got it- I didn't isolate 'in the house' as we all thought it was inevitable everyone would get it- continued to sleep lying next to DH but no- nothing. So you may find everyone is OK!

That’s interesting. I assumed that as it was meant to be so very contagious that we would drop like flies.
DH is now on day 8, still positive and coughing loads. So far, fingers crossed, he hasn’t passed it on at all.

Well ds is doing remarkably well and so is dd, dh is on the mend as am I, though I’ve got the phlegm stuck in my throat which is hard to shift.

Its strange in some cases how you can live and sleep with someone who has Covid but yet not get it, I’m pleased were getting through it, but don’t want it again anytime soon, both dh and I were worried about breathing issues should we get Covid, my dh more so as 20 years ago he got pneumonia and nearly died so remember’s what it’s like to be gasping for breath.

We we’re fortunate for it to be like a heavy cold and that we have had worse before, but I did wonder if the fact that dh and I take vitamin d and c as instructed by our gp because we were low in d has any bearing, also our dd has to take a multivitamin every day because of her auto immune disease and our ds also has a multivitamin every day as well, would this of helped with possibly not getting as bad as it could of been I don’t know.
