Covid positive am I being unreasonable?

I have an event at the weekend we all have tickets. My friend got covid last week and has a bad cold and cough and still testing positive. I realise guidelines have changed but I told my friend that if she's still testing positive the day of event I'm not prepared to car share and go with her. She's took a hissy fit. I said it's unfair to spread it. I don't think I'm being unreasonable. You cant board a plane , go on a cruise etc. Am I being unreasonable? I have not been near her and don't want to catch it and its unfair if others catch it.

YANBU. She is being very unreasonable.

The guidelines say you can get on a plane on Day 5. So people are getting on planes still showing symptoms if they follow the rules.

PleAse can you link to those rules, I can't find them

Personally I think she's been very reasonable. I wouldn't put my friends at risk. I don't want them being as ill as I was, also them having to miss out on planned occasions, worry about risk to vulnerable connections.

I don't think you're being unreasonable for not wanting to go with her if she's still testing positive.

It is quite likely that there will be other positive people there but presumably you'll be spending more time nearer to your friend than most other people.

It doesn't sound like she would choose not to go though, but you can choose not to go with her.

There are currently no requirements to test. Symptoms for this variant are cold like and could be a cold or hayfever. The fact is if she hadn't tested she/you wouldn't know any different.

There ARE requirements for getting on a cruise, you need an in person test, however no requirements for flying. Some airlines insisting on masks during flights, others nothing.

Covid is literally everywhere and most people are functioning normally even when they have it (I have it and I am). I suspect many aren't even bothering to test - why would you if you have to pay? If I had flu I would be in bed feeling as sick as a dog, covid doesn't affect me like that. Personally I am treating it like any other virus now although I do wear a mask when I am out shopping. I will not put my life on hold for people who have decided not to be vaccinated, they take the risk.

After I tested positive and isolated for the 5 days required (for my employer it was their policy but not the government guidance, if I followed that I wouldn't have had to isolate at all) in May I was back at work.
I tested positive up until day 18.
It is unrealistic to expect people to stay inside until a negative LFT.

There are so many people no longer testing. There is a good chance someone there will have covid. Can you answer in days since positive how many days to event ?
