Just curiosity (and a bit of reassurance) really

OP posts:

I'm cev had it at the very beginning when nothing was known about it other than a huge increase in deaths.

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 20/04/2022 22:01

I'm CV and barely noticed I had it, same for DH and DD, who are both also CV. We're all triple jabbed.

Topseyt123 · 21/04/2022 11:14

I am CV and currently have Covid. I think I am around day 3.

For me it has so far been the same as a very heavy, streaming cold. Eyes and nose running like taps and nasal passages stinging. Slightly sore throat, but I have had worse ones.

I am triple jabbed. I haven't yet been offered a fourth booster and don't know whether or not I will be before next winter's flu shot. Anyway, I suppose Covid itself will do a pretty good job of boosting my immunity for now.🙄

Morning

I am technically vulnerable because of my BMI and have asthma. I had covid and the only symptom that even make me take an LFT was one night i was really thirsty, like my chest was dry. Other than that, absolutely no symptons but blazing positives for a week!

SpringLobelia · 21/04/2022 11:21

Work colleague. Just finished chemo. day 6 for her and like a mild cold and she is wfh.

DS1 is CV (aged 12 but with immune issues, asthma, allergies and SEN). we would never have known he even had it were it not for his entire class of 16 tested positive and the school asked everyone in the year to test.

Aposterhasnoname · 21/04/2022 11:26

Both parents. DD, two work colleagues, BIL, a friend and a friends wife. Basically every vulnerable person I know. Conditions include, but not limited to, chemo, COPD, asplenic, high blood pressure, diabetes, recent triple heart bypass surgery, and being over 80.

Deadivy · 21/04/2022 12:23

My mother with COPD was absolutely fine, it was just a mild cold.

MadameDragon · 21/04/2022 12:42

The 3 CEV people I know were fine, all with 3 or 4 vaccine doses.

Blinky21 · 24/04/2022 22:45

My dad is CEV, pretty much the highest risk you could be, he went to A&E with omicron but was released the same day and was fine thanks goodness

PinkTonic · 24/04/2022 22:53

I’ve had it. I’d had 4 vaccine doses and had the antibody treatment when I caught it. It wasn’t pleasant but I wasn’t seriously ill. It was like a head cold x 100, no chest symptoms.

HelloDaisy · 25/04/2022 19:54

I know 3 people who are CEV and have had covid.

One of them caught it in hospital and was quite poorly, although he is 85 with several health issues. We were told he wouldn’t survive and was put on end of life care but that was 18 months ago and he’s recovered completely!

The other 2 have had kidney transplants but both were absolutely fine with it and didn’t need any anti viral meds, both felt no worse than having a cold.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 25/04/2022 19:58

Two fully jabbed family members who shielded, in their 40s. Both nothing worse than bog standard cold.

Popeee17 · 27/04/2022 15:32

My friend was classed as CEV. She shielded as when told to and took the virus very seriously. She caught it when getting back to 'normal' living. She didn't even have any symptoms, only picked up on a routine lft. She was very surprised as has very severe asthma and has breathing issues amongst other health issues. Her asthma is that severe that she was told to totally shield, but yet as above no single symptom.

BeyondPurpleTulips · 03/05/2022 13:45

Im CEV (immunosuppressed and complicated health in general, four vax) and on day two. I'm fluey - and don't want to jinx it - but DW seems to be worse as she can't get out of bed. I otoh, made it as far as the sofa. Grin

I am entitled to antivirals, they should be here tomorrow.

WakeyCakeyHeart · 03/05/2022 13:50

Yes, CV. Covid in Feb, unjabbed , just a bad head and aches for a week. I've since found out I've got bladder cancer so Covid is of little concern to me now.

lljkk · 03/05/2022 13:52

Not me : someone I know. Approaching 90yo, lots of underlying health conditions including cardiovascular ones, plus obesity, male. Walking tick box list for risk factors. The main risk factors he doesn't have are dementia, a cancer or kidney trouble.

He had Barely any symptoms much less any symptoms he would have called illness.

FlowerTink · 03/05/2022 13:52

CV here and apart from tiredness felt fine, compared with DH who is health wise fine and he couldn't get out of bed.

Tigerandthetea · 03/05/2022 13:53

DF on methotrexate, very CEV. He was asymptomatic. My DM also CEV, she had a cold/was out for a couple of days but said it wasn't as bad as flu!

annabell22 · 03/05/2022 13:58

My mum is 76 and has COPD, she bounced back pretty quickly. This was omicron though and a couple of years ago it might have been a different story.

RadioRouge · 07/05/2022 14:33

The thing is though, if you feel all right again after two or three weeks, how do you know that you really are all right? People who've had Epstein Barr get Multiple Sclerosis and HIV infection leads to AIDS. Do they know yet if the covid virus has its own long term illness?

Pennox · 07/05/2022 15:52

My DP wa CEV, on shielding list etc due to an autoimmune lung condition. He was fine really, got Omicron a few weeks back and was like heavy cold/flu. Couple of days in bed. It did go straight to his lungs tho and he rapidly developed a chest infection, which happens every time he gets a cold really. He got antibiotics at first signs and warded it off and then was fine. Whild thing lasted about a week.

I was much iller with longer lasting symptoms and have no health conditions.

Neu · 07/05/2022 16:01

Yes. Twice! First time wiped me out but exhaustion more than anything. Felt very unwell but managed with ease at home.

Way to ruin my vibe!

Is it so hard to let CEV people, some of whom have been hiding inside their homes for two years, be happy - for now - that the deathly virus has not killed them?

Day six here and it's shit, but I'm still at home and not on a ventilator, so that's a win from me.

Yes there is always a chance that it may well be sneaking across my blood/brain barrier like vCJD or polio, or colonising my already shite immune system like HIV, or whatever - but could you let me hold my tiny victory for a bit please?

RadioRouge · 07/05/2022 16:56

I'm really happy for you @BeyondPurpleTulips, and I'm sorry for pooping on your parade.

PinkBuffalo · 07/05/2022 16:58

Everyone in my mums nursing home had it a few months ago. No one had any symptoms at all they were all picked up on their weekly pcr test!
everyone was triple jabbed and came out of isolation 7 days later, but everyone was absolutely fine and would not have known they had covid if they had not been testing (we were all very relieved after the hellish two years we have had)
