How long did they last? How did covid progress for you. My temp was 39.9 earlier, 38.4 after paracetamol. My head is killing me. I've been vomiting, can't eat, am shivering, have weird sharp ovary pain, muscle aches, lungs feel bruised but can breathe fine. I can't believe I feel like this on day 1. Has anyone else recovered quickly? I am a lone parent with no help and a three year old to look after. My skin hurts. My eyes hurt. My jaw feels bruised. I've had two nosebleed. I have stabbing pains in my vagina. I'm just in pain all over and if it weren't covid I'd be going to hospital.

Have you checked your oxygen levels?

I don’t know anyone who had it that bad?

You jabbed?

RJnomore1 · 17/03/2022 17:54

Oh you poor thing. I was like that last year but it was before I could get any vaccinations.

It went on a long time with me and I ended up with antibiotics antiemetics etc. I had all those symptoms, even the nosebleeds. If you have been vaccinated hopefully it’s much faster to pass.

I’d perhaps phone nhs for advice if you still feel the same tomorrow.

Jabbed with booster. Oxygen levels normal. Been in contact with someone who has had flu and not covid and am worried I've got both.

Thank you. It's really reassuring to hear someone else who has had the same symptoms and has recovered. I'm glad you're better now.

I'm going to take this next dose of paracetamol and ibuprofen and see how I feel in the morning.

I’ll be honest, and I’m not dramatic I swear, but I thought that was it for me too. My husband made me phone nhs and they sent me to the hospital but I needed antibiotics because I had another infection too. I totally get how all consumingly awful it is.

RJnomore1 · 17/03/2022 17:59

Should add that was after a good few days though. I’m sure you will be ok but get checked out abs keep an eye on that oxygen level.

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 17/03/2022 18:00

Is your child ok? Can you look after them?

I've now got someone to have him overnight. Thank god for them. He's fine and negative on LFT.

I'm not sure they recommend ibroprofen for Covid.

If you feel that poorly I'd phone 111 or ambulance. Get someone to look after your DC. Don't wait feeling guilty, you might have developed a secondary infection

Oh really? I'm going to have a look on NHS now.

We’ve all got covid here. DH 65 was very ill first day, rang GP who arranged for him to be seen that day due to heart condition at the medical assessment unit at hospital. They checked him over, oxygen was ok, chest was clear, BP ok. They did give him antibiotics to take if he got worse over the next 2 days, but he didn’t need them. They told him he wouldn’t end up in hospital which I wondered how they knew. All 4 of us here, the first couple of days were bad, but we’ve just taken one day at a time and took painkillers throughout.

Loginmystery · 17/03/2022 18:08

I wish I could help you with your child! I’d take him if I knew you. Glad someone has him now. It’s so hard being unwell and being a single parent. I know this very well. I had covid at Christmas. I’ve had flu in the past and for me flu was far far worse. This is the strange thing about covid- such a wide range of experiences and symptoms. I’d probably call 111 if I were you. Just to get the advice and maybe reassurance.
(And if by fluke you live near Barnes I would help you out!)

That's so kind! I don't live that way but very nice of you to offer :)

Ibuprofen is fine. That was debunked ages ago, well before I had it. Unless you’re asthmatic in which you’re not advised to take it anyway.

aWolfinSheepsclothing · 17/03/2022 18:16

You’ve described how I felt, I thought my time was up I felt that ill. The worst of it lasted three days and then my temp went down and I stopped shivering. DH was really worried about me and watched me all night and that’s not like him.

opensun · 17/03/2022 18:21

I also have another dilemma that I need to break up with my partner (I say that, its only been 3 months) and I was going to do it over the weekend, and now can't. I don't have the energy. Stressing me out. He wants to bring me supplies. He keeps texting to see how I am. Argh!

I had similar to this, all the same symptoms except nosebleeds but not as bad and I felt ill for two weeks and then took me while to get over the terrible fatigue. The rib pain was excruciating for two days but fortunately passed. I'm 67 and triple jabbed. I hope you feel better soon and glad you have someone looking after your child. Paracetamol and a hot water bottle really helped me and sleep

notawittyname1954 · 17/03/2022 18:23

And as another poster said I think they recommend paracetamol but no ibuprofen. Can't remember why

Think that's changed now. I asked a pharmacist when calpol wasn't helping my daughter and she said it's fine, I assume it would be for adults too.

@opensun Thank you. You hear so much I lose track. I know they said it at one time.
