Isolation ending Thurs what does that mean for us still isolating?

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 20/02/2022 08:50

What will happen to those if us mid isolation?
Is there any point carrying on isolating even?

When it changed twice previously (Dec and Jan, was it?) the rules immediately applied to those mid-isolation, so am guessing it will be the same if it changes this week.

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 20/02/2022 09:08

I’m currently isolating and reading this is making it even harder to stay home 24/7 knowing next week I wouldn’t have to. !!

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 20/02/2022 09:12

Exactly my DH is asymptomatic as well so seems completely pointless.

It's changing from law to guidance. Why do you need the government to tell you it's not a great idea to go around spreading what is still a nasty virus for many?

Millicent2022 · 20/02/2022 09:15

It’s gonna be spread so much when people stop testing and don’t need to stay off work

Imagine public transport and hospitals yuk

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 20/02/2022 09:15

@nordica

I’m not talking about going to a pub/restaurant/shop but a stroll around the block would be nice!!

Using4532 · 20/02/2022 09:47

Just do as you think fit surely, you don't need other people to tell you

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 20/02/2022 10:08

It's no really a case of picking and choosing if I follow the law or not is it.

Katya213 · 20/02/2022 10:18

I know lots of families that tested positive in the last two months, over half of them were out and about including school pick ups, shopping and weekends away.

Sockwomble · 20/02/2022 10:43

"I’m not talking about going to a pub/restaurant/shop but a stroll around the block would be nice!!"

I'd do that anyway. It's no risk to anyone else.

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 20/02/2022 11:06

@Sockwomble

I know but I am a rule follower 🤣

Also the weather isn’t that enticing where we are

If there's no paid isolation how will mortgages/bills/food be paid for?

Because most people have been vaccinated, because for most people covid is very mild, because people need to work to pay their mortgage, because children need to be on education!

GirlInACountrySong · 20/02/2022 13:13

We are going to have the remaining people at work going off I'll with stress

Get back to work, endless isolating is taking its toll on others!

bumblingbovine49 · 20/02/2022 13:17

Well I'm feeling fine but have been isolating for 10 days . Finishes tomorrow. I'm still not going back to the office next week as lft tests still strongly positive so boss said to work from home for another week.

Blubells · 20/02/2022 14:14

Many jobs cannot unfortunately be done from home.

firef1y · 20/02/2022 14:34

I'm wondering more about if its announced tomorrow that the need to isolate stops on Thursday, how many people would actually bother isolating if they got a positive back Tuesday (and actually felt well enough to go about their business).
I know that unless I actually feel ill I wouldn't be testing from now on. If I'm ill I'll stay at home and maybe use one of the few lfts I have left, but I won't be doing anymore asymptomatic tests

Blubells · 20/02/2022 14:40

People have already stopped testing, even with symptoms.

DSGR · 20/02/2022 14:41

There’s no way I’d continue isolating once the law changes.

Using4532 · 20/02/2022 14:45

There will still be people on here on Wednesday though asking if it's ok to take their dog for a walk along a deserted street

Silverswirl · 20/02/2022 14:52

Most people stopped testing weeks or months ago so won’t have know anyway if they have covid

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 20/02/2022 14:58

@Silverswirl

See Most people ok now haven’t stopped testing or isolating. Guess it depends on who you hang out with

GirlInACountrySong · 20/02/2022 15:03

those on full unrestricted sick pay are testing testing testing then isolating for ten days plus where i work!!!

anything for paid time off

sod their colleagues working harder than ever to cover!

Using4532 · 20/02/2022 15:23

All this testing and isolating has been a skivers dream, only got to look back at the 'pingings' last summer to see this

Blubells · 20/02/2022 16:09

Yes

And even those who do test will have been infectious for a couple of days beforehand anyway!
