….what precautions do you take around spending time with said CEV parents? Are they happy to spend time with you indoors? Asking as I’m curious where my own DPs’ stance sits in comparison to others.

It’s a tricky one. We have 4 parents over 70, 2 of them are CEV.
2 DC in school, too young for vaccine.
We are doing similar to many on this thread.
Wearing masks when we visit. DC not going there after school or sleeping over.
Doing LFT before we go in their houses.
In summer, meeting outdoors.
Last summer when they were all vaxxed and things were a bit more relaxed we had weekend trips away with both sets. But as things stand now both sets too nervous to book anything for this year at the moment.

We saw them over Christmas but after DC had been out of school for a week or so.

DD and I both have COVID at the moment so I feel happy we’ve been cautious about seeing them. No idea where it ends though. Both sets are getting bored and frustrated with the situation but they’re aware it could all be a lot worse.

My 70+ CV parents were boosted away back in September. I'm concerned with talk of boosters waning after 10 weeks that their protection might not be as good going into this new phase of no restrictions, no isolating but sky-high levels. I hope free testing remains available for older people as well as CEV people and those around them.

Severely immunosuppressed here, child at school triple jabbed. I got a pcr kit. I obviously can't avoid my own child so it's just covid roulette really

My mum is CEV. Just had her 4th vaccine. Has a PCR at home to take the minute she feels ill. She seemed to stop worrying in about December 2020. Since then, we’ve seen her & my dad as normal. No masks, no distancing. Indoors. We bubbled through Jan-May 2021. I have school & nursery aged children. My parents look after DD2 once a week and they very often have DD1 on one weekend day, sometimes to stay over. My mum is out in cafes & restaurants & shops as normal. She said to me the other day that she is going to ‘start being braver & not wear a mask anymore’ 🙈🥴

I do worry about my mum but ultimately, it’s her life & I respect her wishes. She has said for a long time she’d rather die than live a life that’s not worth living. Her grandkids are a huge part of her life.

I just hope when she inevitably gets it, it’s OK 🙏🏼

Teacher with CEV family. We just accept that my job may make them seriously ill and I'll have to live with it. Or we never see each other again.
