Vaccine mandates

I am against COVID vaccine mandates ( not against vaccines esp for CV or elderly ) . I find it frustrating that in the press ( and sorry also on mumsnet) people who know nothing of even basic biology, with no medical or immunology training are always taking the moral high ground. People try to make you feel guilty. They are however not able to give a coherent scientific argument just spout the rhetoric of a few months back. No one seems to think that ignoring natural immunity is illogical. Is anyone really “ following the science”?

I think natural immunity has been sidelined a bit to be honest in least it doesn’t count in the political world of NHS mandates

@Scianel. thank you. I will have to remember your tip about airplane mode!!

I agree with @Tealightsandd

It's not good news for those of us who are CV/ECV, going into hospital for regular treatment, should not be the riskiest thing we do. It's not like it's a choice not to go!!

The majority of those not getting vaccinated, 'didn't want to be told what to do'. Like a bunch of teenagers.

It makes no sense when vaccinated people can transmit as much as the vaccine-free. In a few weeks they will be letting covid positives work anyway when the need to isolate will be dropped. How could they ever then say a vax would be needed?!

Vaccinated people are far less likely to get it, you can't transmit what you don't have.

I mean, it doesn't inspire confidence in the medical 'care' - if it's being provided by someone who doesn't believe in science and medicine

Definitely a worry.

Maybe for delta but the latest data just doesn't support this claim.

I think this is precisely what the Op is talking about. People reading headlines from months ago and spouting it all over the internet when the reality is far more complex and fluid.

Fthis exactly !

Yes it does?

Could you link to evidence demonstrating vaccination does not reduce likelihood of infection or reinfection?

As I've said I don't agree with mandates, but I also don't agree with people using misinformation to push a personal agenda.

Blubells · 31/01/2022 14:07

The evidence suggests that even those who are benefiting from natural immunity would still be even better protected if they also had a vaccine.

But only a single dose!

In the EU a confirmed infection 'counts' as one dose of vaccine.

I wish the UK would do this too...!

No, you cannot transmit it, if you don't have it.

I work for the NHS and today an email was sent out to all staff to confirm that no action will be taken against unvaccinated staff.
