Has anyone had Covid and been truly asymptomatic?!

They say between 35-50% of people are asymptomatic but I haven't seen any threads about it on here. Were you? Did you truly have not even a sniffle or a slight scratch in your throat?!

My DS was.He was in a vulnerable category and away with his DSis, Dbro and DDad who all caught it. Being worried he did a test and was positive; no symptoms and so no need for antivirals!

Why would you test for something if you have no symptoms?

cptartapp · 09/08/2023 20:48

We were tested at work. I tested positive for antibodies in April 2020 but have no clue when I actually had it. Or whether I've had it since.

Yes, my DM was, despite having COPD.

My teen daughter was completely unsymtomatic. Her teachers were testing them daily at school and she suddenly got a positive result completely out of the blue. We then fid a PCR test to confirm and it was confirmed she had Covid. No symptoms at all though.

A extremely vulnerable relative didn't have one symptom. 2 kids were snotty and tired for an afternoon, had covid not been in 1 child's class then i wouldn't have tested.

My dp. Son and I had it, I was barely able to stand, son just had sniffles. Dp "I do not have it, there is not a thing wrong with me, I am not testing. Had an accident (minor enough, but required a trip to a and e) asked if he has been exposed, tested positive immediately.

Not me but my daughter. We all had covid (back in 2020) and tested positive and so did she, but she was asymptomatic. My son who is older has had it twice and been mildly poorly whereas hubby and I have had it two/three times and been pretty grotty each time. I have no idea if she’s had it since then as she’s never tested positive even when we’ve checked when we’ve had it.

@broodyat39 in DS's case because he knew that if he caught it he should find out early as he would be offered antivirals. Also because he is a worrier. Of course as he remained well he did not need them.

My son had no symptoms, and I had a bit of a headache for about 2 hours. That's all. We were both positive for 10 days

I've known a few people who only tested because they were close contacts and they were shocked to find out they were positive as they felt perfectly fine.

It's so weird to me that some people get deathly I'll and some others have absolutely no symptoms whatsoever. It just blows my mind.

This happened to me the second time I got it. I had no idea but tested because DH had it and was astonished to see the line. I had absolutely no symptoms except I was a bit tired for one day

I did feel unwell the first time, though it was much less severe than when I had swine flu which I still vividly remember 15 years later. The first time I had COVID I felt very tired and a bit like I had a temperature ( shivering etc) followed by very mild cold symptoms, like really mild but I felt fine within 3-4 days .

I am morbidly obese and in my late 50s so really expected worse

My mother was 101 when she gave us all Covid. She had no symptoms at all but tested positive. We tested her because she was the link between those of us who got it, and we’re really I’ll.
