Internal vibration

I've mentioned this on another thread but thought I'd be more specific as I'm quite bothered by it.
I'm on day 10 and while I'm getting better every day I still have this weird feeling wash over me. It's like internal shaking or vibration, I feel weak with it but it passes. It terrifies me. I check my oxygen levels and heart rate and they are fine. Please tell me others feel this way.

I’m on day 9, I get a bit of vibration in my neck/shoulder/head and then it passes.

ChristmasWithBellsOn · 04/01/2022 17:26

Not Covid related but I get an internal vibration (I'll be in bed and it's like there is drilling deep underneath our house) when I get a) a migraine or b) a virus.

Choccymumma · 04/01/2022 17:28

I did wonder if its more a virus type thing rather than just a covid thing. It's a horrible feeling though.

Yes I got this when I got COVID back in 2020. Still get it occasionally now as part of long COVID.

Choccymumma · 04/01/2022 17:28

I also can't tell if it makes me ill or if I'm panicking

Would you mind describing it for me? I really appreciate everyone taking time to answer

I got this after the vaccines. I called it brain shocks. Bloody horrible, disorientating and frightening. I've got Covid now, I'm on day 10 and haven't had it so far, but I wonder whether it's the same thing you're experiencing?

Choccymumma · 04/01/2022 17:32

@sadpapercourtesan
Sorry to hear that. It's really hard to describe. Almost like a blood sugar drop without the feeling of wanting to eat if that makes sense? Like I'm shaking inside but you can't see it or feel it. My heart feels like its pounding but its not.

I had a weird "buzzing" feeling in my head, like a short mild electric shock and dizziness when I had covid. It lasted a few days.

Porcupineintherough · 04/01/2022 17:36

@Choccymumma well I can try. Smile So to me is feels as if I am shivering inside my abdomen, and sometimes down my arms. Shivering as you do when very cold or physically exhausted- but nothing to see on the surface. I get it a lot when waking but these days only periodically- 2 weeks in 6.

A doctor named them for me, it wasnt something I'd heard of and found it hard to describe.

Choccymumma · 04/01/2022 17:39

@Porcupineintherough
Thanks, sounds very similar to me. Do you feel weak with it?

applesnapple27 · 04/01/2022 20:04

@Choccymumma
I suffer with internal vibrations since having covid in March 2020. They started a few months afterwards and vary in intensity. At the beginning they were quite bad, left me feeling exhausted, very weak and as if I hadn't eaten. They are not as bad now but i am still aware that they are there. They flare up now and again. I have been referred to neurology.

Choccymumma · 04/01/2022 20:08

@applesnapple27
Thats interesting, what do they think it is?

OP posts:
applesnapple27 · 04/01/2022 20:17

@Choccymumma
GP just said he didnt know. Said at the time that Covid was new and there was alot they don't know. He did offer to prescribe meds but I would like to avoid if possible and find out a reason for them. I've just learnt to live with them unfortunately.

HerbertChops · 04/01/2022 20:20

I had this with covid in March 2020. Was faster than a shaking or shivering feeling, definitely more of a vibration, mostly in my arms. Was really weird, it disappeared same time as I started feeling better, probably about 12 days total.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 04/01/2022 20:27

I have Ehlers-Danlos and and PoTS (postural Tachycardia) neither are well known among the medical community. Both are rare, but have similar comorbidities.

Since Covid came along (and in particular Long Covid) there are many mirrored symptoms with EDS and PoTS. One of the similarities is an internal tremor. The main thing I've seen and heard among the specialised professionals is that now that Long Covid patients are presenting with similar symptoms as the EDS and PoTS community, it will finally be taken seriously and added to the NICE guidelines as a "real thing" so please keep talking about it and sharing x

RickyZooom · 04/01/2022 20:30

Is it just when you’re in bed OP or when you’re awake?
I had an awful virus (not Covid) in the summer and I remember getting these whilst I was in bed, sort of half awake and asleep. It kind of feels like you’re being charged up and your brain and body are buzzing!
They eventually went away but it was very, very strange.
Coincidentally I’ve just had Omicron and didn’t get them.

Summerofcontent · 04/01/2022 20:30

I have this at the moment.
I'm taking quite high doses of steroid though so I assumed it was that as I've had it before when taking high steroids

BigotSpigot · 04/01/2022 20:32

Yes this has happened to me. I am on day 21 and still having them, maybe only 4 or 5 times a day now so definitely decreasing but I often get woken up by the sensation. I also get small electric shocks.

RainbowZebraWarrior that is interesting and those conditions are stalking my family and I.

StormBaby · 04/01/2022 20:45

I possibly had Covid in March 2020, before testing was available, and this was my first symptom.

I’ve just had covid again over Christmas and didn’t get it this time round, with what I’m presuming was omicron.

Choccymumma · 04/01/2022 21:04

@RickyZooom it's anytime

Largethighsbadeyes · 04/01/2022 21:26

I have this during periods of high anxiety

andi62 · 04/01/2022 21:35

Like a mild form of being tasered perhaps, makes you jump, or worse? i get that, more and more, delta positive 1st November.

CrunchyCarrot · 04/01/2022 21:42

I've read about 'internal vibrations/tremors' before on hypothyroidism forums, so it's definitely a thing. Also seen it mentioned in connection with low estrogen. Possibly vitamin deficiencies could be involved as well (since hypo people often have those). So don't panic, OP, it's one of those annoying and mystifying symptoms! Would be a good idea to make sure your diet is as good as possible.
